  1. Thank you for posting the link. I agree with her (and I posted this earlier) the ferry experience is different than the cruise ship experience. However I found the ferry experience physically grueling because of the length of the trip and the exposure to the hot sun and humidity. When we do our full canal transit in April, I am not sure whether we will take that tour again.
  2. A fee affecting only RCG passengers: https://www.travelandleisure.com/us-virgin-islands-fee-royal-caribbean-cruise-8285876 Maybe it will be for a new pier. The last time we visited St Thomas (Eclipse), we had to tender.
  3. Nice! Maybe someone on Solstice will post a photo of your house!
  4. We used magnets to hold our Christmas decoration to the door during our first family Christmas cruise in 2016. The smaller door decorations we used for our second family Christmas cruise clinged to the metal door surface by themselves (no adhesive, no magnet).
  5. I do believe that the cancellation of your cabin booking will automatically trigger the cancellation of shorex, specialty dinner reservations, spa, etc that are attached to your reservation. I don't know if there is a way for them to manually intervene.
  6. Have a terrific cruise. I will enjoy reading your posts.
  7. I thought the answer was very cleverly composed--that couples on the same schedule will like it while those that are not might not like it (e.g. the early riser may end up disturbing the partner that sleeps in).
  8. I just got through watching the webinar with the lousy wi-fi that I have in my hotel room. I was impressed with the questions that were asked. A few answers lacked candor. Still I thought it was worth watching for the three points.
  9. We have been on both and they are essentially the same. The 5 Solstice class ships are divided in two groups in our minds: 1. Solstice/Equinox/Eclipse. These are the first 3 ships and they have the Hot Glass Show venue. 2. Silhouette/Reflection. They do not have the Hot Glass Show, but instead they have two specialty restaurants that Solstice/Equinox/Eclipse don't have: Lawn Club Grill and The Porch.
  10. Yes, the Ultra Deluxe Concierge Class category is limited to just those 4 cabins.
  11. The Sweet 16 cabins will be categorized as Deluxe Veranda: The Ultra Deluxe Concierge Class cabins are the 4 lavender colored cabins on the Deck 6 plan that are nestled in between the suites in the aft section:
  12. Thanks for letting me know about the tags. I hope you and your husband have many more cruises in the future to use them! By the way, when and where is your next cruise?
  13. Vicky, it’s great to see your post. Glad to hear you had a good cruise. Thanks for the MDR food report. We will be on Summit this April. David
  14. It resembles the schedule that was used with regularity before COVID hit. There will be a variation in the exact dates and possibly some variation in the order--my memory is not that good although I do remember that the Caribbean sailings are usually released last in the pre-COVID years.
  15. I totally agree. These were backdoor price increases without actually raising the price.
  16. My vote goes to Silhouette for many of the reasons outline earlier. 1. She is the newest of the three ships listed. 2. She has the most specialty restaurant choices of the three--two more than her older sister, Solstice. However choose Solstice only if you wish to participate in the Hot Glass Class which is run by Hollywood Hot Glass. Of the three, it is only available on Solstice. Choose Summit if you want an aft balcony cabin. Like the rest of her sister ships, Summit has the aft cabin balconies in the fleet as they are quite large with a good mix of sun and shade from the overhead covering. 17. Playing the float is very profitable these days……
  18. Only Celebrity ships whose name starts with an S are being considered.
  19. You are referring to the Conservatory which occupied Decks 10 and 11. The Conservatory had places to sit, a spiral staircase, and (of course) a shop which sold fresh flowers and exclusive (and expensive) artificial floral arrangements by Emilio Robba. Here is an old archived Cruise Critic thread about Millennium's Conservatory: link Here are some photos that I took during our only cruise on Millennium in Jun 2007. Deck 10 entrance view of the Conservatory Ceiling detail above the cashier station (visible on the left side of the 1st photo) The white sign on the counter is a fresh flower price list. 12 roses for $60, 6 roses for $35. Large Bouquet $80, Medium Bouquet $60, Small Bouquet $40. Corsage $20. Boutonniere $10. Claritin $5 (okay, I made up the Claritin part). This is the Deck 11 space of the Conservatory. Looking down on spiral staircase from Deck 11. Deck 11 view from the Conservatory.
  20. After using the online system for a few years, I switched over to email and have gotten excellent results. My last email (Nov 2022) got results in 3 hours.
  21. Yes. “Be a Celebrity and not a Virgin”
  22. Yes, lemonade is available for free at the Oceanview Cafe.
