  1. I have read that crew have difficulty spending them ashore in the Caribbean and. Exico ports as vendors don’t recognize them, think they are bogus. So crew would have to change them on board. EM
  2. @BillB48 Here is Cavalier Royal, if your friend is still collecting. Pics are captured from my iPad so I hope they aren’t too grainy for his purposes. EM
  3. By 0930 they will be calling for the laggards to leave. EM
  4. Got mine. Now only 160 more to Elite+. EM
  5. I have read here that the exception was made because Carnival lobbied for it. They wanted to run cruises to and from San Juan. But the itineraries didn’t sell well, so they were abandoned. But the exception remains. EM
  6. I would automatically say no, but on cruisedeckplans there are pics of C757 and a video of C752 and it appears that white space ends and there is a passageway between the two balconies with a door that can be opened. It’s almost at the end of the video. You can see it from this picture of C757 I poached from cruisedeckplans. EM
  7. Royal suggests… but does not require. You will be fine. There are few places in the Caribbean that require a passport but you are not visiting them. I also believe the places that do require a passport, such as Martinique and Guadeloupe do not require six months. EM
  8. It is automatic, as you will notice the title of this thread is Bold. EM
  9. At the top left of the Carnival page you will See posts about: and Select ship with an arrow down. Click on that and you get a dropdown menu of carnival ships. Select Sunshine and you will get a page or two of threads that mention Sunshine.
  10. It all couches make up as sofa beds, and not always as a double. EM
  11. Welcome to Cruise Critic. Since you didn’t specify which ship, it will be difficult for anyone to reply. Also, when you are hoping to connect with others who will be sailing with you, the ROLL Call forums is the place to look. Unfortunately Cruise Critic is North American based, as is the majority of the membership. Probably the majority of those sailing MSC in the Med are not, nor have they ever heard of Cruise Critic. So finding a roll call, much less an active one may be a problem. EM
  12. Today it is Pacific Queen, in case your friend could use some more… And some views of Emerald Princess as she transits from the new locks
  13. Today, Jan. 18 we have Emerald Princess, transiting the new locks. Here she is in the third lock at Cocoli, and passing Pedro Miguel. She appears to have some scuffs on her port side, needing a little touch up…
  14. The panoramic elevators - I assume you mean the aft ones - are also smart elevators. Just do not go below 8th deck and fewer people are back there to use them. EM
  15. Last time no one asked for the health questionnaire. All they wanted to see was the boarding pass. This was a month ago. EM
  16. At least you wouldn’t be shoveling snow. It was 25 here this morning (no snow), now up to 45. EM
  17. You won’t know until you get your cruise cards with dining info on them. in your cruise planner/check in there is a place where it says ‘cruising with’, and there you write in the booking numbers to the others in your group. That should link your bookings. EM
  18. My mom passed in 1998, and is the reason We could afford the cruise, which introduced my sister to cruising. EM
  19. Here is one from October last year. Not sure if this is Pacific Queen or one of the Tuiras.
