  1. Good Tuesday morning to all of you. Thank you Jacqui @kazu for the FR and D despite having pain in your foot. Thank you to Roy @rafinmd for the maps and thank you to Vanessa @JazzyV for the Lists. I hope your BFF’s fib-tib heals quickly. Thank you to Graham @grapau27 for your explanation of the days. Thank you to Debbie @dfish Ann @cat shepard and Dixie @summer slope for keeping us fed and hydrated. @Haljo1935 Good luck with the eye procedure. i like the quote by John Lennon from his song Imagine. I will pass on the meal. Not really a fan of broccoli. Guess I will pass on the drink and wine as well. The wine is a bit above my budget. Have not been to the destination. During the last few days DH and I have had some serious discussions about our future travel plans. He tells me that he is still interested in traveling but wants to limit it to cruises so that he does not have to move around too much and and choose whether he wants to disembark in a port in a port or not. He says he has to have something to look forward to or else he will give up. With that in mind we have decided to cancel the very long cruise we had planned from Oct 26 through Dec. 7. It was a transatlantic beginning in Rome, ending in Miami and then tacking on a Caribbean cruise (because we didn’t want to travel the day before Thanksgiving). That amounted to 42 days without adding in the travel days. We both agreed that we were setting ourselves up for another disappointment at the last minute as this would end up cause anxiety to DH as the time got nearer to the departure date and result in cancellation. With that in mind we cancelled that trip and booked a shorter cruise that starts and ends in Miami. It is 24 days. Does a number of Caribbean Islands and then does the Amazon. We can drive to Miami at our leisure, stay a few days prior to the cruise and have a relaxing time. Both DH and I feel good about this and are quite sure this is doable and it gives him something to look forward to. Please say a prayer it works. Hoping all have a good day. God Bless, Terri
  2. Good evening. Thank you to Jacqui @kazu for the Daily and Fleet Report. Thank you to Roy @rafinmdfor the maps, Thank you to Vanessa @JazzyV for the Cares and Celebration Lists and to Debbie @dfish, Ann @cat shepard and Dixie @summer slope for keeping us fed and hydrated. Also, thank you Graham @grapau27 for you explanation of the days. Thank you to Lenda @Quartzsite Cruiser and Sandi @StLouisCruisers for the great photos of Bar Harbor. Prayers for all on the cares list and cheers to those celebrating. @kazu Jacqui, I hope your foot starts to feel better, @JazzyV I hope your BFF heals quickly from his fractures. Today was a really busy day. Back when our new flooring was installed and then reinstalled after being damaged by a faulty HVAC system last summer, we had no extra planks. Upon thinking about this we felt that it would be in our best interest to get some extra planks in the event we have some problem and need to replace them. If, by chance, the product or color is discontinued, we would have to replace the whole floor again. Heaven forbid! So we ordered two extra boxes and went to Savannah to pick them up. I was originally told that each box would cost $80. To my surprise, we were given them at no charge. How nice. Our next stop was Talbots. I used to like to go to the Talbots in Savannah because it is a nice big store and would go there when I would see the Retinologist, who has since retired. So I have not been to that store in a few years. The next surprise is that I am now able to fit into size 10 petite slacks. Mind you I used to wear a size 14 and they were tight on me. So I am really proud of the weight I have lost. Next door to Talbots is a Fresh Market and that was our next stop, where we picked up dinner. After all that was going on, I certainly could not be expected to make dinner when we got home, could I? So I got a dinner kit of glazed salmon, asparagus and mashed potatoes for 2. It took 15 minutes to prepare and was delicious. That worked out perfectly. However, the only glitch in the day was that I got lost going home. Would you believe it! I missed a turn and we had no idea where we were. I ended up having to put on Google Maps to help me get home. How embarrassing! So we got home safe and sound and had a good day. We also made some decisions about future travel. i will address that tomorrow. Hope everyone had a good day. God bless and Good night. Terri
  3. Good Sunday morning to all. Happy Cinco de Mayo. Sorry I missed posting yesterday. It started out well, but never got to finish reading all the posts. BON VOYAGE! To @Heartgrove and @YourWorldWithBill Hope you have wonderful cruises. WELCOME HOME TO Jacqui @kazu. Hope you have a relaxing day and that foot starts to feel better. CONGRATUALATIONS TO Morgan. @StLouisCruisers DGD on her graduation. Thank you to all who keep this thread going. Hope everyone has a great day. God Bless, Terri
  4. Good morning to all, Thank you to Sandi, Roy, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie and Ann for all your efforts in keeping this thread alive. Interesting Days, but not sure what to think about the quote. I have read Gone With the Wind and have seen the movie a number of times. I have also visited Margaret Mitchell’s house in Atlanta. I will pass on the meal and drink. The wine, while probably delicious, is a bit above my budget. Prayers for all on the Cares List and Cheers to those on the Celebration list and those cruising. I have been to Marseille twice. The first time I took the small trolly train up to the cathedral. The second time was May 1, 2022, right after Jim and I were quarantine from having Covid. Everything was closed that day. i ended up walking around for a while in the port area, got very tired and then returned to the ship. I hope everyone has a great day. God Bless, Terri
  5. Good morning all, Happy Thursday. Thank you to Sandi, Roy, Vanessa, Debbie, Tina, Ann, Dixie and Graham for your contributions that keep this thread alive. The days are interesting, however we will pass on the food and drink, but will wait to see what the wine description is before passing judgment. I have seen the quote before and totally agree with it. Prayers for all on the cares list and cheers for those celebrating and cruising. I have been to Montevideo. We had a very nice tour of the town followed by a wine tour at the Varela Zaranz winery with lunch. It was very nice. We bought some wine and brought it back to the ship and was able to use it at dinner. This was before HAL began instituting their stricter wine policy. We kept one case to take home. That was easy since we disembarked in Fort Lauderdale and our car was waiting for us. There is not much on the agenda today. It i quiet and calm. Hopefully things stay that way. I will attend a support group this afternoon. I have only gone to two prior meetings. Not sure how helpful they are but will continue for the time being. I am in the process of weaning off the Prednisone and so far I have not had another flare-up of the PMR. For this I am grateful. Unfortunately, I still have continual pain in my right shoulder from the rotator cuff tear. I have not been able to move up the appointment with the orthopedist so I continue to wait until May 28 for that. It is not easy to try to do everything with only one arm. Thankfully DH is quite helpful when needed. Not much else to report. Hope everyone has a great day. God Bless, Terri
  6. Good morning to all. Happy Wednesday, Thank you to Sandi @StLouisCruisers for having the Daily and Fleet Report ready so bright and early today. Thank you to Roy @rafinmd for the Maps and to Vanessa @JazzyV for the lists. I am so glad that you are sleeping well and seem to have conquered the pain in your leg. Thank you to Tina @0106 for the meal recipe, Ann @cat shepard for the wine write-up and to Dixie @summer slope for the drink recipe. And last, but not least, to Graham @grapau27 for the decryption of the days we celebrate. Interesting quote. I have been to Juneau, Alaska. It was the summer of 2007. It was the first HAL cruise we took, but not our first cruse. That was on the Home Lines back in 1986 to Bermuda, when I swore I would never go on another cruise. So much for swearing! I will pass on the meal, since somehow Pesto does not agree with my tummy. I like Cuba Libre and had many while I was a student in Ponce, Puerto Rico many moons ago. The wine sounds yummy, but above my budget. Jacqui @kazu Thnking of you today and sending virtual hugs. Terry @smitty34877 You and your family are always in my prayers. Annie @marshhawk Thinking of you and Chuck and hope you are both doing well. Maureen @RMLincoln I am sorry for the latest setback with your DH and hope it is temporary. Prayers for all on the Cares list. Hope I didn’t miss anyone. Cheers to those celebrating and cruising. I am happy to report that all my communication equipment is up and running. The Hargray technician paid us a visit yesterday after another day of outage on Monday. I called and expressed my displeasure at their service yet again., This time they did something about it. So far all is working well. So we have a beautiful sunny day here in the Low Country of South Carolina. So far we are holding our own. Have a great day and as always, God Bless, Terri
  7. Well, hello everyone. After a day and a half of no TV, no internet, and no phone, I am back up and running. I had a visit from Hargray and new equipment installed. I am back up and running. Didn’t mean not to post, but just got on line. Hope everyone is well. I will read all the posts and hopefully had time to post later. Time to make dinner. Terri
  8. Good morning to all. Thank you to Sandi @StLouisCruisers for taking over the Fleet Report and Daily for the next few weeks, Thank you to Roy @rafinmd for the maps, Vanessa @JazzyV for the Cares and Celebrations list, to Tina @0106 for the recipe, to Ann @cat shepard for the wine explanation, and to Dixie @summer slope for the drink recipe. Thank you also to Graham @grapau27 for Father David’s sermon. We all appreciate your dedication to this thread. I am hoping that today is a quiet peaceful day. I was happy yesterday to see my house cleaner and now have sparkling house again. I am glad to have this back on schedule again. I do have a few loads of laundry to do and that will be dealt with over the next few days. DH is sorry he does not feel he can make the trip up to Virginia for the funeral. He just feels the ride is too long. I will include a note in the Mass card explaining our situation to his sons. Other than that we will just have a quiet Sunday at home. Have a great day everyone. God Bless, Terri
  9. Good afternoon, i too had trouble accessing Cruise Critic both on Safari and on Edge. So I gave up. I was surprised when I came back a little while ago and was able to get back on. Thank you to Sandi, Roy, Vanessa, Ann, Dixie and Tina for your contributions to the Daily and Fleet Report. I like the Days and the quote by Helen Keller. I have not been to the port,. I am glad to report that all is calm here. Trying to make some decisions for the future. Today Jim received news that a childhood friend passed away. He had Alzheimer’s. The wake and funeral is in Virginia (DC area) and he doesn’t feel up to making the trip, So the best we can do is send flowers and a card to his sons. His wife passed in 2017. Prayers for all on the Cares List and cheers to all celebrating and cruising. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. God Bless, Terri
  10. Good morning to all. Thank you to Sandi, Roy, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie for all you do to keep the Daily and Fleet Report going. Interesting Days to remember and the quote is funny. i will pass on the food and drink today and I have not been to the destination. Yesterday was a much better day for us and that made life around here much calmer. We needed that. We never got to Costco on Wednesday as planned so we will try to do that today. @RMLincoln Maureen, my condolences on the passing of your DSIL. Glad all went well with DH’s procedure yesterday. @smitty34877 Terry, prayers for you and Tana and your family. Glad you had some help with your NH family and some time visiting with them. @ger_77 prayers for your DH @JazzyV Vanessa, I am thrilled that you have pain relief after your surgery. @rafinmd Roy, looks like the medical report is trending in the right direction. A good thing. @grapau27 Graham, thanks for the explanation of our days to celebrate. Cheeers to all celebrating and cruising. Hoping all have a wonderful day. God Bless, Terri
  11. Good afternoon, Tried to post earlier but was unable to get connected. I will post more later but just want to give you an update on where we are I was able to finally get in touch with the doctor’s office today. We have an appointment for May 23. It was the earliest available. Better than Oct. 17. I was also able to speak to his nurse, who gave me her direct number for the future. I explained how I was trying to use the portal and that my messages had delivery failures after two days. After a week of this I was so frustrated that we ended up cancelling the trip. She told me the portal doesn’t work. Gee, what a surprise! I also told her that we were not sure how to administer the meds. She explained it all and I was satisfied with her answers. She was very nice and helpful. It is just too bad I couldn’’t connect with her sooner. Anyway, at present, DH is calm and does not need any of the meds. Only to be administered at the lowest possible dose when needed. So we are good to go on that. I am feeling better about the whole thing and doing better today. Thank you all for your advice and support. God Bless, Teri
  12. Thanks Debbie. I know. We did the best we could at the time. Thanks for your support. Terri
  13. I am not sure if it is the doctor or the staff member who relayed the message. I just know that this medicine is highly addictive and we have gotten no guidance on how to take it. I am not happy. I am going to try to get to the doctors office tomorrow and see if i can see him. There is only one other Neurologist in the area and most of his patients want to move to the one that Jim has. Not moving to another yet. Thanks for your support. Terri
  14. I have had a horrible day. Last Thursday I made a call to the Doctor to ask for some help since DH was having anxiety issues about going on the trip. i also sent a message through the portal. There was no response. I again made another call and no response. Then last evening at 5:40 there was a call from the pharmacy to pick up some meds. I didn’t know if it was for DH or me. Well it was anti-anxiety meds for him. No phone call, nada. Too little too late. I am livid. If the response had been timely, we might be on our way to Rome. Instead i am just so angry at the way things turned out and not let DH feel he is to blame. I have cancelled everything and maybe I jumped the gun by doing it so quickly. Thanks for letting me vent. Terri
  15. Good morning everyone. Happy Wednesday. Thank you to Sandi @StLouisCruisers for stepping up and filling in while Rich finishes up his cruising and Jacqui gets to start a new journey. Thank you to Roy @rafinmd for the maps, Vanessa @JazzyV for the lists. I hope you are still doing well and feeling better. Prayers for you. Thank you to the ladies in the F&B department. To Debbie @dfish for the meal recipe, to Ann @cat shepard for the wine expiation. I agree that it is a bit above my budget, and to Dixie @summer slope for the drink recipe. I like Mimosas and hope to have one soon. I have not been to the destination. Interesting quote and all three days are worthy of celebration. Well, today is the day we were supposed to drive to Jacksonville in preparation to fly to Rome tomorrow. To sad that I am sad would be an understatement. I had everything planned out and feel like the rug has been pulled out from under my feet. I am in the process of unpacking and putting everything away. I am trying not to show my disappointment too much, but it hurts. Thankfully, every reservation was refundable and we did not lose much money except for a few museum tickets, etc. that we bought. Today we will probably go to Costco for some essentials. We had put off going until our return from our trip, Since we’re not going, we might as well get our necessities. Prayers for all on the cares list, and cheers for those celebrating and cruising. Have a good Wednesday., God Bless, Terri
  16. Good afternoon everyone. Thank you all for your concern. We are doing the best we can. @JazzyV Vanessa, I am so glad the surgery seems to have been successful. Also thank you for including me and Jim on the Cares List. i am trying to get in touch with the doctor so that I can see where we go from here. I felt that all was well with the last visit. Guess we all missed something. I will post more later. I have not read all the posts today but will do so. Just wanted to check in and check on Vanessa. Thanks to all for your support. Terri
  17. Good evening to all of you. Thank you for all your words of encouragement. We know we made the right decision and will move on. Thank you for all your prayers. i don’t think I have the wherewithall to mention all of you but I appreciate all your kind thoughts and prayers. God Bless, Terri
  18. Good morning to all. Sorry I did not post yesterday. It was a hard day for us. We made the difficult decision to cancel our trip to Italy. I am not going to go into detail. We just decided that it was more than DH could handle right now. Thanks for your understanding. Terri
  19. I will post more later. However, I want to wish all the best to Vanessa @JazzyV. I hope the surgery is successful. Prayers for you and the surgery team. Terri
  20. Thank you Denise. We plan to have a good time on our trip. This is not a cruise but a three city jaunt of Rome, Florence and Venice. We are very much expecting to have a good time. Terri
  21. Thanks Debbie. We have had meetings with them and the omplaints fall on deaf ears. The contract is for ten years and it keeps getting renewed by the board. Hargray gives the community money and then charges the residents a fortune. i could go on and on. i don’t know why the board keeps renewing the contract. Believe me, we have voiced our complaints over and over again. Terri
