  1. Just an update. I thought I was doing really well with the two surgical wounds on my legs. Well, guess what. Last night I could not sleep because both sites were so itchy. I finally got up and washed both again and put on new dressing. Today the same thing all day. Called Mayo Clinic and spoke with Dematology. Sent them photos. Obviously they did not like what they saw. They want to see me tomorrow at 11 am. So we will leave at 7:30 am to make that appointment. We will come home the same day. Say a prayer that they can clean out the two wounds tomorrow. Will update when I get home tomorrow night. Terri
  2. i have Federal Employees BCBS and have used it outside the US. It covers 80% of expenses.
  3. We were in Ushuaia on March 25, 2012. We had to skip Stanley, Falkland Islands because of high sea swells. However, the Argentinians did not believe the Captain. When it was time for us to leave Ushuaia, the Argentinians wanted him to sign a document stating that HAL would no longer stop in the Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas). The Captain was not willing to do that. However, since it was a Sunday, he was unable to reach anyone in HAL’s offices in Seattle. Finally he amended the document to say that HAL would not stop at the Falklands for the rest of the season. Note that we were the last ship of the season to call in Ushuaia, Unfortunately my photos won’t load. Terri
  4. Good morning Thank you to Jacqui, Roy, Vanessa, Dixie, Ann and Debbie for your dedication to this thread. You keep us informed, hydrated and fed. I can celebrate all three days. I will pass on the meal since they are not my favorite veggies. The wine is a bit above my budget. Not sure about the drink I have been to Ushuaia. I will look for a few photos. Not sure I have them. Today I will try to get all the finances in order so that I have no worries in that category during our cruise. Then I can devote the rest of the week to getting ourselves packed. We will drive to Jacksonville on Sunday and fly to Miami on Monday. I don’t know if we are making the right decision in flying, but that’s what we’re doing and we will live with it. The last time I was exhausted after the long drive both ways. I am keeping my fingers crossed that we don’t have any problems on this cruise. It will be the deciding factor on whether we take anymore. Not much more to report today. Prayers for all on the cares list. Cheers to those celebrating and cruising and getting ready to cruise. God Bless, Terri
  5. On the Vista Feb. 11 cruise the website shows 6 pm as the earliest time for Specialty Restaurant reservations.
  6. @atexsix Bruno. i am sorry to hear of your situation. I am at the beginning of a similar situation with my DH as he was just diagnosed with he stage 1 of Alzheimer’s. I am terrified of what is to come. My prayers are with you as you go through this caregiving journey. I have done this three times already. Except this time I have no support system. Take advantage of any help you can get. God Bless. Terri
  7. And now i am in the same situation. I handle all the finances. DH doesn’t have a clue and it would be an exercise in futility to try to teach him now. I do have this little book I bought and am putting all the passwords in it. It will go to my cousin, who will have to handle all this if I die first or become incapacitated. I just waited too long to do stuff and now I just have so much to do and I don’t know how much time I have. Right now DH is not bad, but certainly trying to teach him something he is apt to forget, is not in anyone’s best interest. It will only cause more confusion. Terri
  8. Thanks Lenda, Will have to check out if Starlink is available here in the Low country of SC. We will see what happens on this upcoming cruise before we make anymore decisions. Terri
  9. Usually the bathroom is not as user friendly to those who are not disabled. E.g. Roll in shower that shares the same space with the toilet, One sink instead of two and very low, less drawer and closet space. Room may be more spacious, but that s it. Got stuck that way once and never again.
  10. Good morning to all my Dailyite friends. Happy Sunday. No posting yesterday since Hargray was not cooperating again. I wish we had another choice in internet here. I would jump at it. Thank you to Jacqui and Roy @kazu and @rafinmd for the D/FR and maps. Thank you to Vanessa @JazzyV for keeping up with our cares and celebrations. Thank you to Ann @cat shepard and Dixie @summer slope for keeping us hydrated and to Debbie @dfish for keeping our bellies full. And thank you to Graham @grapau27 for the explanation of today’s celebrations. I think I will pass on the food and drink. I am sorry to say that I have not been to Singapore. That is really a bucket list place for me, but I don’t think it is in the cards. Not the way things are going right now. We are lucky if we get through the next cruise. We have cancelled the Tauck cruise to New England and Canada. Not yet sure about October. Praying for all on the Cares List and cheering for those celebrating and cruising. All those on the GA make me green with envy. Hoping everyone has a good day. God Bless. Terri
  11. Hello to all the Dailyites. Thank you to Jacqui, Roy, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann and Dixie for your dedication to this thread. Interesting Days. I don’t think I will brew a potion. The only thing i brew is tea or coffee. As for Memory, we are doing the best we can around here. Popcorn—I can’t eat it although i love it. I like the quote. I think I will skip the wine. That is definitely above my budget. No to the drink and the meal as well. I don’t eat chili or anything very spicy. I have not been to the port. Now that all that is out of the way……. Congratulations are in order for @seagarsmoker. I wish you all the best in your new job. @ger_77 I am so sorry that your DH needs surgery and you have to cancel your cruise. I pray that all turns out well and you and DH will soon be cruising again. @RMLincoln Maureen, Condolences on the passing of your NM friend. @JazzyV prayers that you get some relief from the pain and discomfort in your leg. @Vict0riann Ann, sorry that Pat needs surgery for aortic stenosis. @ottahand7 glad you are reducing the Prednisone. Hope you will be on the mend soon. If I missed anyone, I’m sorry. I heard from the Podiatrist this morning. I have a neuroma on the sole of my right foot and a smaller one on the left foot. He doesn’t want to do anything right now since we are leaving for a cruise next week. He also thinks if I am wearing sandals rather than closed shoes it may ease the discomfort. If I am still having trouble when I come back he will consider cortisone injections. So I will go along with that. Well, it has become apparent that my cleaner is not going to show up here any time soon. I understand that she is not well, but I need my house clean. So between yesterday and today I tackled it myself. I am exhausted. But it is done. The only thing left to do is to change the bedsheets, which will be done tomorrow. I am debating whether to tell her that I will be looking for another cleaner that is more dependable. As a matter of fact, if I do that, I will be looking for a crew, that come in and are finished in an hour. I am exhausted. I am too old for this #$%^. I am sure that i will pay dearly for all the work I did today. But it is done and now I can concentrate on getting ready for our cruise. While we are not supposed to get any snow, we are in for another cold snap this weekend. I will be happy to get to the Caribbean as soon as I can get there. I hope everyone keeps warm and stays safe with this terrible weather. God Bless, Terri
  12. Good Thursday afternoon to everyone. I’m a bit late today. Got up late and then had some stuff to do before going for the ultrasound on my feet. Unfortunately I had to go to Hilton Head for it and the traffic was fierce both ways. I was told that i should hear from the Podiatrist tomorrow regarding the results. Thank you to Jacqui @kazu for the Daily and Fleet Report and to Roy @rafinmd for the maps. Thank you to Vanessa @JazzyV for the Lists and our comings and goings. You are so good at what you do. I am sorry that you are still in so much pain. I agree with your decision to postpone the Specialist appointment tomorrow, given the horrendous weather forecast. Thank you also to Ann @cat shepard, Dixie @summer slope in the beverage department and to Debbie @dfish for the wonderful receipt. Thank you for giving us a main to go with the side. The days are interesting. i do not have any customers. However, I do appreciate the vendors and service providers who have taken the time to get to know me. As for Maintenence, I agree with Vanessa that when you own a house, every day is Maintenance Day. I am all for Gourmet Coffee. I really enjoy a good cup of coffee, especially in the morning. Maybe a second or thrid. i agree with the quote. However I don’t wish to pass judgement on anyone who does or does not go to Church. @seagarsmoker i hope you aced the third interview and you are offered the job. My fingers and toes and crossed for you. @Quartzsite Cruiser Lenda, My condolences on the passing of your two friends. @marshhawk i am sorry that Chuck needs further surgery. If I missed anyone, I’m sorry. You are all in my prayers. I hope that all who are cruising and getting ready to cruise are happily enjoying their time at sea or happily anticipating their upcoming journeys. I hope everyone is having a great day. God Bless, Terri
  13. Hi to all. i went to the Podiatrist today and he can’t figure out what’s going on. I have to have an ultrasound on my right foot tomorrow. Then he will see what is happening. That’s all I know right now. So after a $35 co-pay I know just as much as i knew before I went to the foot doc, More tomorrow. Terri
  14. @marshhawk Annie, keeping Chuck in my prayers today. Terri
  15. @ottahand7 Nancy, What a night you had. I hope you can get over the bronchitis and I agree with lowering the Prednisone dose. My prayers that you get through this quickly. God Bless. Terri
  16. Good morning. It is 33 degrees in Bluffton this morning. I am tired of this cold spell. Thank you to Jacqui for the Fleet Report and Daily. it is so good of you to fill in for Rich while he id on his extended cruise (oh how I wish). Thank you to Roy for the Maps. @grapau27 Graham, glad to have you back with us. Hope you had a good time wherever you were. Welcome back! And thank you for Father David’s sermon, albeit late. Not a lot on the table for us today. I have an appointment with the podiatrist today. Something going on with my right foot. Not sure what it is. Thank you in advance to the F&B crew. Debbie, Ann and Dixie. And thank you to Vanessa for keeping up with our lives. Hope you are doing better. Cheers to all who are cruising and getting ready to cruise. I like the quote. Always liked Katherine Hepburn. As for the Days— Benjamin Franklin was certainly a formidable figure in the founding of our country. Betty White gave us plenty of laughs and as for Cable Car, well, I have been to San Francisco once and rode them at the time. I have also been on Cable Cars taking me up the sides of mountains in Spain (Montserrat), Switzerland (the Schilhorn) and in Norway (Leon). I have not been to the destination. Hope everyone has a good day. God Bless, Terri
  17. I’m on my phone because Hargray is at it again. No internet or TV service. I wouldn’t have cell phone either except I get that from Verizon. Just to let you guys know that I also have a Spanish Version of Don Quixote and read every last word of it in Spanish. Will check back later if we ever get the internet back. Terri
  18. Good Tuesday morning from Bluffton, SC. It is 55 degrees here this morning and we expect rain today. Thank you Jacqui for the Daily and Fleet Report. I completely missed the incorrect date, The only dragon I can appreciate is Puff the Magic One. i will sing the song today in his honor. I appreciate Book Publishers. As for Hot and Spicy Food, I will have to take a pass. My tummy directs me to do so or I will suffer later. Not sure about the quote. I will pass on the food and drink. However, thanks are in order to the F&B department. Thank you to Debbie @dfish Ann @cat shepard and Dixie @summer slope. Thank you also to Vanessa @JazzyV for keeping up with all our needs and our celebrations. I hope that someday soon you get some relief from your leg pain. Prayers for @ottahand7 that you get past that nasty respiratory infection. Glad your DH is feeling better. I understand the insomnia from the Prednisone. I deal with this on a daily basis. Yesterday I thought I would try to clean the house. Then I thought better of it. However, since I have not yet heard from my cleaning lady, I will tackle as much as I can today. I would like the house cleaned before we leave for our cruise on Jan. 28. We are planning to stay in Miami two nights prior to embarking on the Vista on Jan. 31. I will be happy for the rest. When I ill be concentrating on the taxes. I am trying to be upbeat. Being in a blue funk doesn’t help anyone, including me. I hope everyone has a good day. Stay warm and dry. God Bless, Terri
  19. Good afternoon, Sorry I was AWOL yesterday. Started to read posts and then got distracted. Never got back Talk about Blue Monday. I had Blue Sunday, Saturday and whatnot. Have to get out of this Blue funk. Still haven’t heard from the cleaning lady. Jim seems to be holding his own. All is good on that end. Thank you to all who keep this thread going. Prayers for all. Terri
  20. Just checking in. That is all I can do today. Prayers for everyone and hope you are all okay. Love to all. Terrri
  21. Good Saturday morning. Our internet is up and running and that means I had better post. With Hargray it here now and gone the next minute. Yesterday, the internet was out from 10 am to @ 8:30 pm. Thank you Jacqui for the Daily and Fleet Report. To Roy for the Maps. To Vanessa for the Cares and Celebration List. To Dixie for the Drink of the Day, To Ann for the Wine of the Day and to Debbie for the Meal of the Day. Not sure yet what we will partake of, but we have our choices. We will celebrate with the Korean Americans on their special day, Who doesn’t want their dreams to come true? Unless they are nightmares! And Peach Melba. Yum. Haven’t had one in a long time. Interesting quote. Have not been to the destination. It is cold here. 50 degrees. I know everything is relative. But that is cold for us. Some winters, the shorts don’t get put away. This is not one of them. It is quiet here. Things are moving along. I have not heard from my cleaning lady, which means I have to tackle the house. Don’t know if I will ever see her again. Would you believe the floor is our bedroom is still not right! I told the contractor that it needs to be fixed but I do not want the same guy here again. If he sends him, I will not let him in the house. The guy cannot get it right. We will see what happens. Nothing else to report. Hope all is well, Prayers for all and appreciate all the prayers and support. God Bless, Terri
  22. That is too bad. Hope you feel better. We have gone with Lawrence a few times and always have enjoyed his tours. Really nice man. Terri
  23. Well, we are back on line. We had no WiFi all day. Not really sure what happened, except that a line was cut and they could not find where. Then they had to repair the cut. So here I am. It was a very tiring day. I think it was the culmination of a very tiring and stressful week. We had to be up early because the contractor was sending someone to do some touch up painting. Talk about just being on time. We got up at 8 am and the doorbell rang at 8:09. Just finished putting on my clothes. Perfect timing. Would you believe that there are three places on the bedroom floor that need to be repaired. I adamantly told the contractor that I did not want the same floor guy back. Send someone else. Don’t know when, but it needs to be fixed. Other from that, Jim and i had a quiet day. I tried to process a lot of things. I am not sure yet what will happen and how everything will work out, but we will figure it out. Thank you all again for your prayers and support. i appreciate all your kind words. God Bless and Good Night. Terri
  24. Hello to all. Just want to check in. We have no internet service so this is from my phone. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Will post when we are back on line. Posting from my phone is difficult for me. God Bless, Terri
  25. Thank you all for the comforting words. I wish I had the wherewithall to name all of you. I appreciate all the prayers and good wishes. God Bless. Terri
