  1. Good afternoon to all Happy Thursday. Thank you to Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie and Ann for your dedication to this thread. I like the quote and it can apply to any religion. Interesting collection of days. Forget the mud. I like the hugs. Cameras—well, sometimes I use my phone but I like to use a camera. I have a DSLR and now found out that Canon says it is obsolete and can’t get updates for it and it would be nice if it had Wi-Fi. i have a Nikon A900. It is small, takes great pictures and easy to carry around. Has Wi-Fi and automatically downloads to my iPad. The drink sounds interesting. However I will pass on the food and wine (above my budget) We have been to Ushuaia and it was a fun day. Took a private tour with another couple. Went to El Fin del Mundo. And then as they say it. The “Southest Golf Course in the World”. We made a few other stops. Photos are not on my iPad so I cannot share. Today we are in Karlskrona, Sweden. It is a tender port. Both of us were really tired and Jim was a bit under the weather last night. We decided to stay on board especially since we will be here again before the end of the cruise. Tomorrow is an early day. Have a four-hour taxi tour in Copenhagen. We are only in port from 7-2. Who ever thought of that schedule for an important port???? We are staying in Copenhagen at the end of the cruise so it will give us a good overview of the city. @smitty34877 Praying for your DH and hope that the complication will resolve and recovery will continue without any more problems. @cruising sister special prayers for Murphy. @luvteaching i hold you and your family in my prayers during these difficult and sad times. May your wonderful memories give you comfort. Prayers for all others who need them. Cheers to thos celebrating and cruising. God Bless, Terri
  2. Today we went into Stockholm and had two missions in mind. To see the ABBA Museum and the VASA museum. We accomplished both. At the ABBA museum there were lots of interactive things to do and concert and movie clips. Lots of fun. First the ABBA Museum. Some of their gold records Replica of the “Mamma Mia Set” Jim and I having some fun. Next we walked to the VASA Museum to see the old Viking Ship that sunk and was raised and restored A replica of it to get the full perspective.
  3. Today on the other hand was spectacular. This morning I was up to catch the sunrise at 4 am. These are mostly of the small islands in the Stockholm Archipelago A friendly sea gull Heading to the island to join his friends
  4. I am a bit behind in my update on our cruise. Yesterday we were in Visby, Sweden. It is called the town of “Roses and Ruins”. It is on the Island of Gotland and there is a 2 1/2 mile 13th Century Wall around the city. The ruined churches all reside within this wall. We took the free shuttle bus into town and decided to walk on our own. We got tired awfully fast with the cobblestone streets that were quite hilly. We walked to one church that is intact and after getting there, were not permitted entry for 1/2 hour because of services in progress. Well, we didn’t wait. We walked back, looked at the shops and the other vendors in the town square and headed back to the ship. Short day. Don’t have much in the way of photos Ruined church town square Typical street
  5. We enjoyed our day very much. The Marina is a nice ship. However it is the only one of the Oceania ships that has not had a facelift. It was due for a major overhaul this coming November but has been postponed until May of next year. It is starting to show some wear, especially in the staterooms. The public areas still look good. Got my photos downloaded. Now if the ships Wi-Fi cooperates I am going to try to post some from yesterday in Visby and today in Stockholm. Terri
  6. I was just about to post when I was abruptly knocked off the internet. Good afternoon as we leave beautiful Stockholm. The Sail In this morning was absolutely stunning. i got up at 5 am and watched the whole thing. Jim slept through it. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie and Ann for all you do to keep this thread going. Special prayers for Karen @luvteaching as you handle all there is to do these next few days. Know that we are with you in prayer and spirit. Also prayers of thanksgiving that @smitty34877’s DH has a room and is recovering from surgery. Hope all goes smoothly and he is home soon. Prayers for all on the sick list and with troubles. Cheers for those celebrating and cruising. Will post some photos after I download them and if the internet allows me to do so. Love to all and God Bless, Terri
  7. Karen @luvteaching, my deepest condolences. May your wonderful memories sustain you during this difficult time. Our prayers are with you. Please take care of yourself. Terri
  8. @luvteaching my prayers are with you. Thankfully you have your Son with you for support. Terri
  9. @luvteaching Karen. Thank you for the update on Phil. You are all in my prayers during this difficult time. I think you are making the right decision and that should give you peace. Terri
  10. @smitty34877 Thank you for posting. I have been thinking about you and Lou and decided to get out of bed and check again to see if there was any news. Glad the surgery went well. Will continue the prayers. God Bless, Terri
  11. I have been checking here all day to see if there are updates from @luvteaching and @smitty34877. I was hoping to hear some good news. However it is time go to bed. I will check in the morning. Praying for good news. Terri
  12. Not around when we left. I will take care of it tomorrow morning.
  13. Well, this squeaky wheel did not produce any results in Polo. Tonight we both got the wrong appetizer. When the right ones came one had to be sent back. My French Onion Soup was cold. Then when we received our entrees both of us received cold mashed potatoes. So we had to send them back. Finally we both asked for tea after dinner. No spoons with the cups and saucers. No milk. Had to ask for everything. I would think that after my conversation with he F&B manager on the phone, they would have taken care that things would go right for us the next night. Not even close.
  14. Thank you. As you can see, I managed to figure it out. Terri
  15. Good afternoon from Ronne, Denmark. Today we have decided to make our own Sea Day. A day of rest. We will be in this port again and this is an opportunity to recoup. We have a few days in a row after this that are quite busy so we seized this opportunity. Thank you to Rich for the Daily and Fleet Report and to Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie and Ann for your dedication to this thread. Prayers today especially for @smitty34877 DH as he undergoes surgery. Also for @luvteaching for DH and your family as you go through this very difficult time Prayers are also in order for @Vict0riann’s DH, @marshhawk’s DH and @Seasick Sailor’s DH. I hope things improve for all. Prayers for all who need them. Cheers for those celebrating. I am posting now because most are off the ship and the bandwidth is decent. It will get worse as the tours return. We will skip the meal and drinks and deal with the menus on the ship. Interesting quote. Not sure I agree. Have not been to the port. As for the days. National Beautician’s Day. What would we do without them!?! Forgiveness. I am of the mind that while forgiveness is difficult when one is hurt, it puts those that are hurt at peace rather than the offender. It doesn’t mean you have to forget. I stay away from canoes. Have a great day everyone. God Bless, Terri
  16. I made a comment on the mid cruise survey regarding the service in the GDR. I put it in the box yesterday morning. In the afternoon I received a call from the F&B manager to discuss my comments. So they are interested in improving the service.
  17. A sunset over Warnemunde, Germany. Couldn’t pass this up.
  18. Thank you for the nice comments. It really does feel good to have things finally calm down. i just don’t even want to think about home at this point. Terri
  19. Hi RNB.This is our 10th Oceania Cruise. We have been on all the O ships except the Regatta. We do like the Riviera the best. So far we have not been bored. We used to sail exclusively with HAL until they aggravated us two times in a row. We saw an O Cruise we liked, decided to try it and never looked back. Sorry you got bored. The food is good and so far we are happy. Terri
  20. Our day in Warnemunde. Along the channel At the beach The Lighthouse and Windmill in the water Our ship the Oceania Marinia
  21. Good afternoon to all. Thank you to Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie and Ann for your contributions to this thread. @luvteaching I am so sorry things are not turning around for DH. He and your whole family are in my prayers. @kazu sorry I missed your special day yesterday. @smitty34877 prayers for Lou for tomorrow. @Vict0riann prayers for Pat @Seasick Sailor prayers for your DH. @mamaofami Happy Birthday Prayers for all who need them. Cheers for those cruising and celebrating a special occasion. Sorry if I missed anyone. The internet is abysmal and I am doing the best I can. Today we docked in Warnemunde, Germany. Since Jim and I spent a number of days there in 2019 before our Tauck River Cruise that started in Prague and ended in Budapest, we decided we did not need to make the long trip to Berlin for the day. It is 3 hours each way. The tours left at 6:15 this morning and are not due back until 9:30 pm. That is a long day. Too long for me and especially DH. We first thought we would go to Rostock, but got caught in a mess. The ship began an emergency test and all services stopped, including the elevators. So we were stuck on the ship for a while. Then it started to get late. So when we were able we left the ship and just wandered around Warnemunde. We took a one-hour harbor tour. it was nice but the whole commentary was in German. While DH speaks German, he was having trouble understanding the commentary. That’s okay. We enjoyed the scenery. Then we had lunch in one of the local restaurants along the channel, did some shopping and stopped for ice cream. Finally made our way back to the ship. the weather was beautiful and we had an enjoyable day. As soon as I upload the photos to my iPad i will post some. Tomorrow we are in Ronnie (Bornholm Island) Denmark. We have decided to stay on the ship. We originally wanted to do a ship tour but it was sold out. We are back there later in the cruise an will do it then. Stay tuned for some photos., Happy Sunday to All and God Bless, Terri
