  1. I cannot get a description of another photo after posting a photo. So these are photos of Grenin where the Baltic and North Seas meet at the tip of the Jutland. It was very windy but lots of fun.
  2. I am going to try to post some photos. Hopefully they will work. The Sandworm Trolly drawn by a tractor
  3. Good afternoon to all, I am posting while most are still off the ship and the bandwidth is better. Thank you to Rich for the Daily and Fleet report and to Vanessa for the Cares and Celebration List. Also a big thanks to Debbie, Ann and Dixie for keeping us fed and hydrated. I like the quote, but have not been to the port. Prayers for those who need them and cheers to those celebrating—Sandi, happy birthday to your DD. We ventured out today in Kiel, but there is not much to do here. There is a water festival going on and we went over there for a while, but decided that we would take it easy today. Yesterday we were in Skagen, Denmark. (Pronounced Skane), which is on the very northern tip of the Jutland. We took a ship tour (not my usual thing, but I have to say that this was quite good. Our first stop was to Grenin where we boarded a “Sandworm,” which is a trolly pulled by a tractor. It took us to the northern tip of Denmark where the Baltic and North Seas meet. If one so wishes you may remove your shoes and socks and put one foot in each sea at the same time. Many did this, however, we did not. It was fun watching people enjoying this. Very windy. We then went to St. Nicholas Church, of which only the tower remains. The rest of the church was buried by the moving sands in the area. Again, you could climb the tower but we chose not to. Got to preserve my knees. Lastly, Skagen is known for the artist community of the 18 century that produced many paintings. There is a museum dedicated to them and it was interesting to see their works. It was a good tour. I have photos on my phone. However I had trouble getting to move over to my IPad. Going to work on that now and try to post them. Hope everyone has a good Saturday. God Bless, Terri
  4. We are finding service issues as well. In GDR last night could not get someone to pour our wine. Finally I got up to get it myself. They all came running. Guess they got the message. So far we have not asked much of the Butler but he has been okay. I understand that a lot of new crew has just come on board and it may be just a matter of getting settled and acclimated.
  5. Terminal 28. However, there are two other ships in port. Not sure that would always be the case.
  6. We didn’t get the survey card either. Terri
  7. Yes, I looked her up and that is her name, however she is only using Margaret Lynn on the ship. It seems she is on Regent quite often. Terri
  8. Hi everyone, I have been trying to post most of the day. The internet is abyssal. Today is a sea day so everyone is on the internet and we do not have Starlink on this ship. Posting now while people are at dinner. Just checking in to say hello. Tomorrow we are in Skagen, Denmark. We are doing a ship tour. Something unusual for us. However it hits all the places we want to see and it is easy. Also, we have a ton of shipboard credit and it’s all non refundable so we have to use it some way. I will take pictures but not sure if I will be able to post them. A Happy Birthday to Roy and Good Luck with the Oral Surgeon. May the Tooth Fairy be good to you! @smitty34877 please know that you and your family are in my daily prayers even if I don’t post it every day. Thank you to all who contribute to this thread. I am signing off before I get knocked off. God Bless, Terri
  9. This is what is written in Currents yesterday. ”Margaret hails from South Carolina and is a graduate of Clemson University. Margaret taught 9th grade grammar and literature for several yers after graduation. She left teaching in 1992 to pursue her love of theatre, starring in regional productions of comedies and musicals. Performing at sea called in 1994 and she sang and I danced her way around the world, 132 countries and counting! She was offered the role of Cruise Director in 2014 and while she does move between brands, she always feels at home when with Oceania Cruises. Margaret is honored to return to Oceania to celebrate the 20th anniversary year and she enjoys serving as Director of the Entertainment Department and mentor to the younger performers,. Watch Currents! You may see her on stage to join the band for a song or two.” Hope this helps. Terri
  10. I also boarded the Marina today in Southampton. We have the usual Bulgari Toiletries in our PH suite. We had dinner in Toscana and it was good. There was no muster drill only a message in all the rooms from the CD. So far all is well. Terri
  11. Hello everyone, Just getting a chance to post. All is well. Our trip to Southampton was without incident. I slept most of the way. We were able to get an extra reservation at the Italian Restaurant tonight — Toscana. Very good. All unpacked. Tomorrow is a sea day. Very tired and am going to bed. Thank you for the well wishes. Will read all the posts tomorrow and try to post more. Good night and God Bless, Terri
  12. Well, it was a rainy day in London Town and not a day for the London Eye or a cruise on the Thames River as we had hoped. We did get our wine though. At least we were able to get some rest and get over the jet lag before our cruise. Tomorrow our driver will pick us up at 9 am for the ride to Southampton. It should take about 2 hours or so. Tonight we will get all our stuff packed and ready to go. Thank you to Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann and Dixie for all your contributions to keeping this thread going. I have not been to the port. I remember Jackie Gleason’s quote. Am I dating myself? Since my room is a a Penthouse Suite, I am going to change it to “How Suite it is” for this cruise. We will skip the F&B since we are eating and drinking whatever they are serving in the Lounge tonight. I will try to report each day—hopefully with photos. Hope everyone is having a good day. Prayers for all, especially those on the Cares list. God Bless, Terri
  13. So we went out today. I did some research and found that Majestic Wine is the UK equivalent of Total Wine in the US or close to it. So I looked at a Map and there were two nearby. I asked the Hotel Concierge which would be the better one to go to. He told me there was one even closer in walking distance. So we started out with map in hand. Got there and the place was shut tight. No sign of it ever being a wine store. DH was exhausted and ended up sitting on the steps of a building because he couldn’t walk any more. A very nice man on a motorcycle stopped and asked if we needed help. Every taxi was occupied and we were just not able to walk back. The motorcycle man asked me if i had an UBER account. BINGO! Got an UBER in 2 minutes and we were back at the Hotel. However, we don’t have any wine to bring on the ship. Will have to venture out again tomorrow and go to the Majestic Wine on the website and stay away from the Concierge. So we went out and got our walk. Don’t know how much it helped. DH was really tired after it. I hope we can do this cruise. I was having my doubts. Now I have more. Talk about a dark cloud. Terri
  14. Good Afternoon from London. Happy Juneteenth. Here in the UK it is not a holiday. I thought I would be out and about today but we are both just bone tired. I took a nap yesterday afternoon for 2 1/2 hours and then slept 12 hours last night and I could go back to bed now and sleep some more. We are going to get our wine today and that’s about it. Just trying to get in gear. Tomorrow we will spend the day out and about. Prayers for all. Terri
  15. Thank you all for the good wishes. There was just a knock on our hotel room door and voila! Our two bags arrived. How nice to see them. Other than being a bit wet because it is raining, they are in good shape. What a relief. Happy to be reunited with my clothes. Terri
  16. Good afternoon from London. We are waiting for our room to be ready at the Sheraton Grand London. This is me: I am sure that I have a dark cloud over my head. Yesterday morning in Jacksonville we were thrilled that we were able to check our luggage all the way through to London. Guess what? Of the four pieces, two made it to Heathrow and two did not. To be honest folks, I am tired of things going wrong. I think we have had our fair share and it is time to pick on someone else. Now I am sure that you will all say that you also have had your share of troubles, so it is time that the troubles go elsewhere and stay away from the Dailyites. That is it. I am glad that we are here in London for a few days before the cruise or I would really be in trouble. Jim is missing one bag and. I am missing my large bag with most of my clothes in it. We are praying hard to St. Anthony that they show up before Wednesday morning when we have to leave for Southampton. So other from that, it is warm and sunny here. I am very tired. Didn’t get much sleep on the plane and our room is not ready. When it is, I am going to collapse. Happy Father’s Day to all those who are Fathers. We celebrate you who have provided for your families and were roll models for your children. God bless you all. Prayers for all who need them, especially those who are ill and facing surgery. Cheers to those on the celebration list and cruising. Have a wonderful day everyone and God bless, Terri
  17. Update. Greetings from JFK. We are in the Delta Lounge. Did not have to leave the secure area. When we arrived at the Lounge the agent was able to check us in and we are all set. Enjoying some F&B pre flight and watching the planes taking off. So far everyone has been super helpful and we have been super impressed with the way Delta has treated us. Thank you all again for the well wishes. Terri
  18. i hope so too, Roy. i am thinking about that and will see if we can do that. Not fond of going through security again, especially at JFK. However, we do have PreCheck. That will help. Terri
  19. Greetings again from the JAX airport Delta Lounge. We were very fortunate to have a lovely lady who checked us in and was happy to check the luggage all the way through to London Heathrow. And she did it with a smile. It is so nice when you meet people who are happy to help you. What a relief! The last thing we wanted to do was have to pick up our luggage at JFK and recheck it. However, we do have to check in again. That is fine. The sun has come out and the skies have cleared. Our flight is on time so all seems well. Thank you all for the well wishes for a safe trip. We are excited. Realized I forgot a few things. However, London is a big city and I’m sure I’ll be able to find what I need. Happy Saturday to everyone. Terri
  20. Good morning from a very rainy Jacksonville. Thank you to Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann and Dixie for keeping this thread going. I just want to check in before we head to the airport. We are taking the hotel shuttle and leaving our car at the hotel. We are having breakfast at one of the Lounges at the airport and then board our flight at 12:09 to JFK. We have a 5 hour layover there. Here’s hoping that the agent will be kind to us and check the luggage through since we have two different booking numbers. (Long story). Then we will not have to pick up our luggage in JFK and recheck and go through security again. Keeping our fingers crossed. Will post more later. Need to get this Ipad packed so that I can get out of her. More later. Have a good day everyone and prayers for all. God Bless, Terri
  21. Thanks for the photos. Trondheim is one of our stops. We booked a ship tour but after seeing your photos and reading Jeff Farschman’s blog today, we are cancelling the ship tour and doing it on our own. It looks easy enough. Terri
