  1. Just received an email from RCI saying from may the 6th on all anthem sailings, the second night will be "Royal night". not sure of the details, but it sounds good.

However, ya'll were right about the formal nights :)

    Stitch ..... #gutted

  2. I'd usually agree with you but not in this case. We'd already booked our upcoming 14 night Med cruisecruise in July when, a month later, RCI released their free grats and drink packages promotion. I ended up cancelling my existing reservation and immediately rebooking it in the same cabin for exactly the same price that I originally had. The difference though was that I got the freebies which were worth about £840. Even accounting for losing my original £300 deposit I'm still up by over £500.

    good call !!

  3. Sure, they can simply cancel your booking, give you a full refund, and say you have to book again using the new terms. Hopefully they will honor the terms under which you purchased, but they could cancel if the want.

bob ..... I love your confidence in the product and the way it all works.

are you a travel agent ??

do you work for royal Caribbean or something ??

do they pay you for not saying a bad thing against them ??

    are you admin

  4. Yes, I have been reading the multiple deleted threads, and I am still amazed at the OP's tenacity... over a point of almost nothingness. Must be super awesome to be transfixed on such a trivial point.

the whole point was ...... I wouldn't have booked. I'd have booked explorer that's going out next week instead.

I always fancied booking the Marco polo for a little trip, but only because it sails out of Tilbury (not far from me).

but then I found out there was no casino (which I wrongly assumed was on every ship), so I didn't book it.

so when I got miss Garcia's email I was quite amazed and thought I'd let you all know.

but then I do that and you basically tell me she's just lying to me as she's made a "mistake" ..........

I only wanted my money back lads, or to have my cruise transfered. But I do think it'd be funny if she was right.

    And only time will tell.

  5. I think that's going a little bit far saying that Monica is lying to you.

    Is she undertrained...yes

Could she have asked someone else if she was unsure...yes

Did she give you the wrong answer....yes

Did she do it deliberately or maliciously ....no.

She made a mistake. Unfortunately that is all too common with the RCI reps.

but did she give me the wrong answer ?????

    you assume she has ........

The 22nd of may hasn't happened yet .....

no ken ........ that's what the other CC members are saying.

They're saying she's spinning me that yarn as by the time I get on the ship it'll be too late.

Besides, she's only lying on RCI's behalf .......

  7. shame really ........

that the cruise company love so much are .......

well anyway who cares. I said I received an email from them and I did.

so I looks like Monica garcia is just lying on behalf of RCI.

at the end of the day I had more or less given up. so I wasn't exactly holding my breath.

  8. Here is the letter sent to Stitchman:

    "Dear Stitchman,

    Many thanks for your email.

Allow me to advised that you will have 2 formal nights on your 10 night

cruise. I have added the web address where it indicates the formal nights

    and wardrobe.

    Hope this answers your enquiry.

    Kind Regards,

And what's more fun is that if you click on the link and read what you can and can not take, a KETTLE is not mentioned but coffee machine is.

This email looks like it's intended for a normal RCCL Cruise and is saying Formal Nights i.e. meet Captain and crew, have a drink, everyone dress up.

Don't think that is going to happen, worth printing it out and taking on board. See Guest Services and complain, might get OBC.

yes ....... I thought that too saus.

but I mailed them back mentioning everything you lot said.

I will take your advice about obc lol :)

  9. Do I have to bring cash or withdraw cash on the boat? Or can it be charged to my room and paid on credit card?

Trying to work out how much cash I need to exchange as I don't want to have to withdraw any on the boat as I guess it costs a lot?

    when are you going ?

  10. Tea isn't as big in the US, as a result people tend to complain about the limited counter space being taken up by the tea setup (it did take up a good portion of the counter) more than they would complain about not having it. The odds are much higher for them to be damaged than to be used as well. Even just from people not knowing how to use them. In the US coffee pots are common place but I know I had never seen or even knew tea pots existed like the ones I found in my hotel in London and on the Indy. I've since bought one on Amazon for at home because I loved it so much.

    how cool !!
