  1. I never got a reply from the FB message I sent either.

    Im sorry about that

I double checked and Raquel from pharmacy Dori (the branch next to Punta Langosta pier) gave me her e-mail raquelmacias@hotmail.com , she told me, you can find her at facebook also, her name is Raquel Macias, she did not tell me her second last name, but you can write on the FB find field: Raquel Macias Cozumel

  2. Hello. I was wondering if anyone knew of any great non chain restaurants in cozumel to get fresh seafood. (Lunch as the ship leaves before dinner) I also would like to know of a good sports bar that will have the World Cup going. When I was in the Dominican during the last World Cup, watching it with people from other countries was one of the best times I had. Thanks.

for good fresh seafood in town you can try Pescaderia San Carlos, for the world cup games you can try Sr. Frogs, Margaritaville or Kellys sport bar

  3. I have a group of 5 adults going and havent seen any recent posts about Glass Bottom Boat Tours. Does anyone have any tour company suggestions or and idea of cost? Thanks everyone!

you can google toursplaza, they offer a snorkl glass bottom boat tour

  4. I just saw on carnivals excursions a paddle board/snorkel excursion in Cozumel. Does anyone have any experience with a similar excursion that is not through the cruise ship?

    just google

    Ha-Haak Paddleboarding Cozumel

they have very good reviews at Tripadvisor

  5. We are going to mahogany bay, Belize, and Cozumel on June 1st on carnival dream. I was wondering if anybody could suggest a glass bottom boat tour in any of these ports as some of us don't like snorkeling but would still enjoy seeing the sea life. Or any other similar ideas would be appreciated...

    Thanks

    Thanks for your help!

tours plaza offers glass bottom snorkel and taxi tours with snorkel, just google them and all the info is in the website

  6. I am scheduled to be in Cozumel on this Saturday, May 24th...coming on the Carnival Paradise. I am having trouble confirming where our ship will dock, but I have it narrowed down to Puerta Maya or International Pier, which are right next to each other. I have taken taxis from Puerta Maya to and from Playa Palancar, but never into the downtown area where La Choza restaurant is located. On google maps, it shows that La Choza is only a few blocks from the Punta Langosta pier. Would I just ask a taxi driver to take us to Punta Langosta and walk from there? Does anyone have experience with this? I should probably add that I do not know any Spanish, and the most I could communicate with any taxi driver in Cozumel has been "Carnival ship". Therefore, the easier the directions, the better!

Carnival Paradise will dock at Puerta Maya pier

  7. Has anyone been able to or have you seen a place to reserve a flyboard? I seem to remember seeing one from the ship but at the time I was not interested in it. Would like to check it out on our next trip. Found an online site to book but would like to wait until we get there. Any info is appreciated. Thanks

there is flyboard for rent at the Caribbean Sunset restaurant in casitas beach, north of town in front of the military base, this place is not far from the ferry pier, so you can see the flyboard guys from there

  8. My wife and I are going to rent a scooter in Cozumel on our upcoming NCL Dawn cruise. Looking online I found Ernesto's Rental, which has them for $20/day, with the expected sales line that they are cheaper than the ones at the pier and worth the walk. It does appear to be a few hundred more yards from the pier than other companies might be.

Does anybody have any knowledge on what the closer-to-pier companies charge? I am trying to decide if the extra walk is worth it. And, yes, I know the conventional wisdom of renting scooters, and am prepared for advice on why I shouldn't rent one. :)

    Thank you for your insights.

NCL Dawn will dock at Punta Langosta pier/mall, behind the mall parking lot there is a scooters and car rental named "Sol y Mar" (which means Sun & Sea), a scooter rent per day is USD$30.00 + optional insurance USD$15.00, does not include gasoline, you have to refill or pay what you used

  9. I read something on tripadvisor that made it sound like beach not worth it. I am not a foodie or a dancer but thought my daughter would enjoy this over two snorkel excursions. My husband and i did snorkel at money bar in April.... Saw a chain link eel and lobster in addition to fish. I am still waiting to see turtles:rolleyes:

in this link you can see some photos of the beach at the Cozumel & resort hotel where Salsa & Salsa tour takes place,

  10. Definitely take them into town to walk around and shop. It's a really fun, safe town that has a lot of cool little stores to wander around. Food is also widely available and cheap. Even if it's a snack or something. It's a bit of a walk (about 2 miles) from the ships so you might want to taxi into town and then walk back. It's a really nice stroll back along the oceanfront (sidewalks all the way).

Agree with mrsfuzzmo, in the way to town there is a small free beach where you can make a stop if you want to relax, get wet and refresh, is called Caletita,

  11. Just trying to make a plan for our day in Cozumel - with 4 ships in port is it going to be crazy crowded? Should I consider Nachi Cocum or will we be ok at Paradise Beach? Trying to base my decision on crowd level.

    Thanks!

dont worry for crowded places with 4 ships at port, the island offers 300+ activities, atractions, shopping, cooking classes, zip lines, diving, snorkeling, restaurants, fishing, a lot of beaches, ruins, tequila & chocolate & photo tours, echo-parks, bars, the wild side, car rentals, taxi tours, etc etc so cruise passengers and tourists from playa del carmen, cancun etc spread all over the island, on november 2011 (I dont remember the exact datel) we had 14 cruise-ships in one single day and yes a lot of places were crowded, Melgar ave was so crowded, people could not walk on the sidewalks so car trafic was closed so people could use the road to walk, but since that crazy day, port captain authority does not allow more the 10 cruise-ships on port in a single day

  13. Thank you! that shop is on my list for sure. I think the shop I am looking for is

Bugambilas , but the site said it had moved and changed names, is this the shop that you had a link to?

I dont know the name, but in the afternoon or tomorrow I have to get some fruits there so let me ask and let you know, there are 2 or 3 dresses shops inside the market, they have for sale wedding dresses or dresses for the girl teens who will (turn?) 15 y/o old not sure about the englsih word (crewskeepr help in here lol) or for babies who got their baptism at church, those kind of special clothes

  14. For the traditional maya huipils and gala ternos, those straight white dresses with embroidery along the neck and shoulders, start at the Mercado just beyond the Plaza in San Miguel. You'll probably find cheaper versions in the shops at Puerta Maya, where you'll most likely be docking.

Maybe Keltina, who lives on Coz can chime in with more specific shops, but these, along with guayabera shirts are all over the place. Do check for good quality sewing and fabric.

Since you're going to Roatan, DW and SIL have bought nice colorful smock like dresses similar to huipils at the cruise port in Mahogany Bay, where you'll be docking too. There are shops in Roatan in the West End that carry these, too.

At this facebook link you can see a photo of the kind of dresses you can find at el mercado, I dont if its the same Vikidon is asking about and in the same album there is another photo with a lady who has shop there, who can fix the sizes

  15. They will cater to the people getting off the ship so things will be open.

on sundays also come to the island (by ferry boats) tourists from Playa Del Carmen & Cancun to sightseen, snorkel, dive etc so as you say things will be open

  16. Does anyone know what all is on the menu for what food they serve?
