  1. stopping in Cozumel next month. my son loves hot sauce -the hotter - the better. anyone know where to buy the best?

look for a bottle of "Salsa Habanera", you can find it at any supermarket and some stores for tourists but the real ones are at Mega or Chedraui, you will see there are green and orange-red salsa colors, the green is HOT but the orange-red is HOTTER

  2. Where do we restock our diet dew from in Cozumel? We only want to carry on a couple 12 packs and we know we'll need more by the time we get to Coz. Is there a place close to port?

you can find some pepsi products at Mega and Chedraui but diet mt drew does not exist in Mexico

  3. It says 15 min briefing and 30 min with the dolphins. I'm thinking it wouldn't be more than an hour and then time to change, look at pictures, etc.

if your dolphin tour ends before 12 noon you will have plenty of time to arrive on time to the chocolate factory 1:00pm tour, if you take the choc tour, is very important the taxi driver knows where the choc factory is located becus is in downtown, in an area where not many local people know well and is very easy to get lost

  4. Our ship will be in port from 8am til 4 pm Cozumel time.

İ have booked the Dolphin Dicovery for 10:00, but now i want to do the Kaokao chocolate factory tour also. İf i booked the chocolate tour for 1:00, would we have enough time to do both? İ don't want to be running crazy from 1 thing to the next and worry about missing the ship. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

do you know how many hours last your dolphin discover tour? Dolphin discovery is at Chankannab Park, you have to take a taxi to the chocolate factory and depending on trafic ride time will be 15 to 20 minutes, just be sure the driver knows where the chocolate factory is located becuz not every taxi drivers know and he can get lost and take more time to get there

  5. I cannot believe that I waited this long. We are cruising March 6th and it seems Tours Plaza is booked for the day. Can anyone recommend another driver/company other then Tours Plaza????? :(

maybe is late to answer this one but I just checked on the reservation calendar at their website, and march 6th is still open, you just have to choose the date on the calendar and the vehicule you want and fields to write your name e-mail, etc will pop up, I just did it and did not receive any messages telling me date is full, on the calendar the only date you can not choose right now is march 1st and that is tomorrow

  6. Does anyone know which car agencies are at the TMM International Pier. I believe that is what the Brillance docks in Cozumel. Tricky to book online when you are not sure of the exact location. :(

    Avis and Alamo

  7. I wish I could find out from someone if Money Bar has Wi Fi.. When I e mail them at info@moneybarbeachclub all I get is a failure notice.. Anybody know if they have it ? Thanks for any help..

yes they have WI-FI, just go with the cashier at the restaurant and he or she will give you the password

  8. If you're in your 20's and all the things you listed I'd say you sound like a commercial for Mr Sancho's:) They have everything you listed. Check out some youtube videos of Mr Sancho's you'll see what I mean. It's going to be a livelier place that I'd think most 20 somethings would enjoy. Not to say you wouldn't love the other spots as they all have their great qualities. You just sound like a Mr Sancho's type of person (whatever that means:))!!!

I agree, if they are in their 20´s, Mr Sanchos is the best beach for them

  9. I'll pass on your compliments to my wife. She spends quite a bit of time putting her slide shows together and picking out background music for each one.

She said the group is called Secret Garden. The song is called Children of the River and is from the album Dawn of a New Century.

The music sounds so good with those pictures. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

    Happy cruising!

I just found the song video on youtube and overthere is a link to where I can buy the album if I want it, please say thanks so much to your wiife, and thanks to you also :D

  10. And yes, depending on your fitness condition and the heat, you could walk. It's further than 500 yards though. Maybe 1.5 km to actual entrance, plus walking from ship and through port shopping area. I don't recall the condition of the sidewalks, if any past Puerta Maya, but would highly suggest you cross the road at PM before turning right and walking down. You might inquire with DM about any shuttle service they may have to and from the pier. I believe they still offer discounts to Chankanaab Park and a shuttle service to there (it's about 3 km further down).

on PM side, there is a sidewalk in very good shape, depending of time of the day it gets some shadow because is next to the jungle, it goes from PM all the way to caleta entrance, but as Crewsweeper says is better idea to cross the road at PM, in that side there is no sidewalk so walk carefully

  11. Carnival uses the Puerto Maya terminal and DISCOVER MEXICO park is only 500 yards per this website http://www.puertamaya.com/shore-excursions/discover-mexico.aspx .

Since its so close, we would just walk to the park from the terminal than get Carnival excursion? The http://www.discovermexico.org/default.asp also has a $5 off entrance fee which I don't know how much is it...anyone?

Admission fee is US$22-Adults and US$12-Children. Tequila tasting additional US$30-

  12. We finally booked the scoot coupe tour when We Will be in Cozumel at the end of april. Look fun and à lot to see!

I am forme Québec , Canada. Do I need to but an international driver permit to drive in cozumel?

    Thank You

dont worry, your canadian driver permit will be ok

  13. My wife made a slideshows from the pictures she took on our cruise and posted them on her website.

If you are interested in seeing them you can click on the link below. The slideshow will play as soon as the page opens, but you can also go through the pictures by clicking on the thumbnails one at a time.

It wass a long day but we thought it was worth it.

    Here is the link

    Excursion to Tulum Mayan Ruins

very nice pictues and the music is wow, coueld you please ask your wife the name of the song and / or who band or group plays it? TIA :D

  14. The Hotel El Cid da la Ceiba, to your left out of the international pier has a newsstand in its gift shop. You can try the OXXO convenience stores. There are several around, mostly in or near the downtown area. Some sell USA Today. I would assume most magazines for sale are in Spanish, though.

thats right, at OXXO´s you will find newspapers and some magazines but mostly in spanish

At Mega supermarket, there is an area with lots of books, magazines, newspapers in english, like US News, People, Newsweek, Readest Digset, Vanity Fair, etc

  15. thanks for the explanation FloridaADguy, I did call to "La Cozumeleña" and yes they have 2 Vegan plates, mushrooms and vegetables wraphs and humburguers, price $60.00 pesos about $5.00 diollars each, they told me, they also offer another plate but it has goat chesse and I thing that is not vegan,

but you dont have to worry if the restaurant have or have not vegan food in their menus, we are very easy persons so if you ask to talk to the manager or the person in charge and explain them you are vegan and you dont eat this or that, they will arrange your lunch with vegetarian ingredients they have at their kitchens, you can also talk with the chef or cooker and tell him/her about, Im sure in all restaurants they have rice, corn tortillas, beans, potatoes, pasta, etc. we like to please our guests so you will find vegan food in any restaurant of the island, for instance in La Cozumeleña goat chesse they thing is vegan and is not, so is better idea if you talk with them, in every kitchen in town we use sunflower or cartamo or corn oils (dont know how to say cartamo in english but is a grain) to cook, nowdays is not easy to find someone who cooks regular meals with pig manteca (lard?), manteca is common for tacos or in the countryside and ranchs, but not in the cities, but you can ask to check the oil bottle at the kitchen and be sure

  16. crew thanks for the answer about the honey :)

"La Cozumeleña" is like a cafeteria, very good, but the one I know is in the corner of 10th ave & calle 3 sur, we the locals ussually go there on sundays mornings for breakfast but I dont know if they serve Vegan food, I ussually have fresh orange juice, coffee and "Huevos Rancheros" eggs with hot tomato sauce on the top and a tortilla at the bottom and black beans, delicious, the also offer yucatecan food, like "cochinita tacos" "quesadillas" and things like that, La Cozumeleña main business is since very long time ago a bread factory store like Zermatt, the bread store is next to the cafeteria so the bread they serve is always fresh and yummy, they are open daily for breakfast, lunch and in the afternoon a lot of locals go there to drink coffee and chat because they have a/c so is cool and nice inside and the coffee is very good

Right now I dnt have the telephone of them in hand but let me check and call to ask about the vegan food and be back and let you know

  17. Both my girlfriend and I are vegans and therefore do not eat meat, dairy, eggs or honey. We're planning on renting a car and touring the island. I know we'll be able to "find food" downtown at the markets (fruit/veggies) and salsa/guacamole (minus the cheese they may want to sprinkle on) will be fine. Of course, we'll need to check on how the chips are prepared (vegetable oil versus animal lard) but was wondering if anyone has any experience finding vegan options around the island or downtown. We will not be staying at any one spot long...just grazing and moving on.

    Thanks!

you can have fruits and salads at any restaurant of the island, why you can not eat honey?, it comes from the flowers
