We leave for our APT trip in three weeks. Starting in Hanoi then Halong Bay, Hue, Saigon. Board a Mekong cruise then Siem Reap and all points between! In the cities we are in 5* hotels then Mekong Serenity. I have absolutely NO idea what to take for evening wear. I don’t want to be under or overdressed! Those of you (ladies) who have done similar trips, please advise me. Thank you!

When we did a land trip in New Zealand we went on a small group tour with Bubbly Grape. They were outstanding, taking us to some excellent vineyards. Our favourite (unexpectedly, because we thought it might be too commercial), was Cloudy Bay.

That is an amazing price! We might have been tempted but are already booked for September 25 for 20 nights. Not for that price, unfortunately!!

We were supposed to go to Antarctica but Covid got in the way! But when I was researching I found a helicopter trip that went to the same penguin colony for not a ridiculous sum of money. Maybe have a look.

We were on Encore in September and had one extremely rude server who made a few unnecessary comments to guests. After one particular comment we never saw this person again.

In the UK we can't cancel and rebook or we would lose our deposit. Only if the saving was substantial would it be worth it.

We booked a 2025 cruise on the Ovation whilst recently on board the Encore. We paid our future cruise deposit to receive 5% discount but because the cruise we booked had $1000 onboard credit we were not able to use the 5% Club discount as well. On transferring the booking to our TA once home we then got a further discount from them.

Good news indeed. Maybe we will be able to enjoy this new cuisine outside too to complete the evening!

There are some excellent wines on the premium list. Talk to the Sommelier and ask for his recommendations. Sometimes they have odd bottles not on the list which they suggest. We were recently on the Encore and ordered a bottle of Cloudy Bay Sauv Blanc. None left but the Sommelier brought us a different NZ Sauv Blanc which was excellent but not on the list.

We are experienced ocean cruisers and generally like to dress up for dinner. However, we are doing a 19 night land and river trip with APT in February and have only one 20kg hold case and a small carry on handbag as there are some internal flights within Vietnam. I seem to remember reading on here that generally people do not dress up in the evenings. What does anyone recommend we take in the way of clothes, bearing in mind it's going to be very hot on land during the day, and that also we are staying in 5* hotels for the land part of the trip and eating in the restaurants in those hotels. Help!!!

We just disembarked the Encore on Sunday. Had a marvellous cruise. Let down by TK Grill service and same old, same old food in there. We had a second reservation which we cancelled. The main restaurant was far superior, as was the sushi restaurant. I really hope they get rid of Keller and allow the chefs on board to show their skills and also use that wonderful outdoor dining space at the back that Keller won’t allow to be used.

We had our redeemable credit back on our CC this past Tuesday, having disembarked on Sunday. We didn’t visit Seabourn Square at the end but did so part way through the cruise as we were confused as to what was what. My husband was an accountant and could understand their very weird and wonderful accounting system but I had no chance!

Forgot to say that we went to Akrotiri too. Not to be missed!

I will explain what we did for our day in Santorini which, after talking to fellow passengers the day after, we are so glad we did! We took a ship’s excursion, “Fira on your own”, which took us by boat to the “other” harbour where the buses are. A bus took us to Fira where we left the group and did our own thing. We just told the guide we were doing this and she gave us some cable car tickets for our return journey. We then walked for about 1.5 hours towards Oia on the path on the top of the cliff - a lovely walk! We returned to Fira and at 12.30pm we met our taxi guide for a 6hour tour of the island. This was with Santorini Best Tours. Cost for two of us, €280. Our taxi took us all over, but not to Oia as we have already been and the guide said it is now horrendously busy. We went to a medieval village, to a beach for a swim, we visited 2 wineries for tastings. At 6.30pm we were delivered back to Fira and at 6.40pm we got straight on to the cablecar with no line at all. We were on the Seabourn Encore and we left at 11pm.

Lines yesterday for the cable car in the afternoon were 3 hours. 2 small ships, 2 large. Nightmare.

We use Welcome Pickups. Just used them twice yesterday in Athens. If you complete your details online it gives you a price before you click to go ahead. We have used them lots. Always prompt and in touch with you at all times.

We board the Encore on Sunday but have not received a request to complete an online questionnaire. Has this reverted back to a task at check in at the pier or will we receive one tomorrow or Saturday? Thanks.
