  1. obstructed view balcony cabin on deck 8 is an option to research.
  2. Boarding begins around 10am and continues up until about 1 hour before sailing time. If you have your medallion you will be green lane. Once through security you will go to the boarding area. Without the medallion you will have to pick up your medallion at the pier. It's a short detour. Once boarding begins priority boarders go first, then all others. Boarding proceeds goes quickly once started. No specific boarding times.
  3. What is the source of the $400 refundable OBC? Is the refundable OBC posted under the payments section in your account? You can only use OBC which is posted pre-cruise to pre-book excursions. Some OBC isn't posted until you board. One example is some OBC from TAs. Check this out. If it is posted then I don't know why it can not be used to pre-book excursions.
  4. Below are the details from the passage for carry on soda. Basically each person can carry on 12 x 12 oz cans. A couple could carry on 12 cans each which equals a case. From experience passengers have been able to carry on cans from ports of call. "Guests are also prohibited from bringing water, sodas and other non-alcoholic beverages on board that are packaged in bottles. A small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages (i.e., sparkling water, sodas, juice, milk) packaged in cans or cartons may be brought on board on embarkation day, only if carried on in Guests’ hand luggage (not in checked luggage). A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 sealed, unopened cans/cartons of 12 ounces each or less per person. Guests will be asked to discard open beverages in plastic containers prior to boarding."
  5. I am going to clarify my previous post. In that post I am speaking about the normal MDR, not specialty restaurant dining.
  6. I am not familiar with the procedures Sun Princess, but on all other ships it is walk up dining anytime the DR is open with prompt seating.
  7. There have been lots of changes. The funky app and very poor off shore customer service doesn't help. Medallion itself is a very minimal change. It's basically just a cruise card in a different form. It unlatches your cabin door automatically as you approach. It also allows you to find your cruise partners anywhere on the ship, and allows crew to locate you if you order something using the on board Ocean Now app. Dining is a big change. The change is happening right now. Choose between traditional fixed seating, reserved times each day or walk in anytime. Selection is on the app only. If you are in a full suite or a reserve class mini suite then you don't have to concern your self with dining. It's just walk in, prompt seating. Excursions, if you book them. I'm not certain of the exact date of change. Way back you could book excursions without any charge until you were on board. That changed at some point. Now if you pre-book your credit card is charged immediately, or if you have OBC that can be used to pre-book excursions. Specialty dining. If pre-booked your credit card is charged. You can not use OBC to pre-book. You can use it once on board. Check in. Complete all your pre-boarding information on the web version or the app. The medallion is sent to your home, $10 charge, and you are green lane. Choose to pick up the medallion at the pier, you are blue lane, and roughly a 5 minute detour. Not a big deal. No boarding passes or assigned boarding times. Just show your passports. Suggest you carry hard copy of your travel summary as a backup. You still have to print out your luggage tags at home. If unable to print them the luggage handlers can attach tags to your luggage when you check it at the pier. Plus, $60/pp/day and premier, $80/pp/da, are now common. For me I found with the plus fare the breakeven point is around 3 alcoholic beverages per day. You can read all the terms and conditions on the web site. You can book these fare at the time of booking, or you can purchase them on boarding day once onboard. If purchased on boarding day the cost will net against any OBC in your account.
  8. "I have been told yes you can use the OBC but cannot advance book, only when you board" This is the correct answer for specialty dining. Pre-cruise you can only use posted OBC to book excursions. Once on board you can use OBC for almost anything you purchase. One exception are Future Cruise Deposits which are charged directly to your credit card. You can charge casino play to your on board account which nets against any credit balance, but you must play and there may be some limits imposed.
  9. If they are separate booking numbers. Or, on boarding day of the 2nd cruise approach one of the crew selling these packages and ask if you are able upgrade your plus package. You will have experience to determine if premier will be required for your cruise style.
  10. Reserve class dining on other Princess ships is in a section of one of the MDR's. For example, on the Ruby it was in the DaVinci DR, deck 6 mid ship, starboard side entrance. There will be a notice in your cabin.
  11. Not from Canada. However, CAN$ are not mentioned at all on the Carnival Corp web site. For North American brands the OBC is in US$. If sailing a Princess Australia based cruise the OBC would be in AUS$. The chart shows it all. https://www.carnivalcorp.com/shareholder-information/shareholder-benefit You might wish to contact Carnival. For Princess the email address is sbpcl@princesscruises.com
  12. Many have a cover up, like a light sweater. I always pack a light sweatshirt jacket. Example, might be chilly in the theater, warmer in a DR or lounge.
  13. Share is gone. Very few used it. I remember trying it once. Not impressed. The restaurant was returned back to Sabatini's, deck 16, port all the way aft. Have your pre-dinner cocktails in Adagio next door. Quiet, comfortable, usually not very busy.
  14. To book you can call them. My preference is to use a Travel Agent. TAs provide the booking service and usually provide some additional benefits such as some additional OBC. You can also book with a Personal Princess agent by requesting one when you call. I have never done this, but there are good reports. I would not just call and book with anyone. Be careful if you call Princess. They may try to sell you packages for future hotels and such. You can link both bookings together on the same credit card and pay for everything. If you have a T.A. it's easy. I don't know about the app. Starting tomorrow for cruises after September you will have 3 choices for dining. Fixed early or late dining, same table, same waiter. Anytime Dining, walk up. This may be tough for a small group. Dine each evening at whatever time you are able to reserve on the app. If you are sailing on the Sun Princess this process already exist. If you are booking full suites or a reserve class mini suites they have a special dining area. You just show up and you are promptly seated.
  15. It will never be the 1st or last evening. Best guess is the two evenings where sail away time is earlier.
  16. After you book there will be an airline reference number. Some airlines allow you to choose your seat right away. Some do not. I don't know Delta's policy. You can go into the Delta site with the reference number and see what you can find.
  17. What does the fine print state regarding Delta? Your answer should be there.
  18. I believe it depends on the ship. Just bring along an unopened bottle. Not a big thing.
  19. It will be shown in the daily events listing. It will either be in Skywalker's or Club Fusion. It depends on how may platinum & elite are on board. It's usually at 5pm for an hour or so. You probably will also receive a card in your cabin.
  20. All good advice above. Once booked on EZ Air there will be an airline reference number. Some airlines allow you to reserve seats when booked, others do not and you have to wait until final payment from EZ Air to the airline which is about 45 days before the flight. To me seats are important. I always check for this.
  21. For boarding in Ft. Lauderdale this past winter I brought along a copy of the travel summary. I was blue lane. I never had to show anything. After going through security I went to pick up my medallion. I just showed my passport, the woman at the counter did not like my photo so she took another one. She got my medallion and off I went. 5 minutes at the most.
  22. You really have to mention the ship(s). There are differences.
  23. Looks like there is a cruise scheduled for January 12 on the Sky. One to avoid.
  24. I believe the promo you are speaking about is the double cruise credit program for sailings between 8/1/24 and 12/1/24. This program doubles the cruise credits. It does not double the days on board. One day will = one day. Read the details in this post.
