  1. So pleased for you Kalos and of course Mrs K. Lots more trips away are prescribed !
  2. Lionel Richie was like a few of his age, well past it. They don't know when they should call time, which is a shame, I liked him in his prime. Enjoyed most of it and the special effects were amazing.
  3. I was also fortunate to be chosen to attend a garden party. Held for Emergency Service workers, lovely day.
  4. Will be watching Coronation tomorrow on TV. A loyal Monarchist having served in RN and Police for a combined 34 years and proud I did.
  5. It is very puzzling. We were on Iona in January and the service was very good. Food wasn't outstanding but no complaints
  6. I risked the Sep 24 Princess booking because I have until 90 days before sailing date to cancel and if I did it would cost me less than the price of a latte !
  7. I just checked my 24 cruise against 23. Similar date and no deluxe left. Balcony with Princess Plus was £500 more this year, so I am happy
  8. Great deals. Booked for Sep 24 Sky Princess 14 nights to the Med. Great price for a deluxe balcony.
  9. Another a little concerned re Kalos. Best wishes his quips and one liners always bring a smile.
  10. So annoyed with myself. Forgot to message my personal TA to try and grab me a Princess or Queens Grill for QM2 2nd May. Busy morning and of course it sold out in minutes.
  11. I always went last minute but since you know what, I have booked four cruises, pre release, selecting two or three cabins. My personal TA who works from home is very good and before I commit lets me know the cabin number, price and OBC. I could get an inside at the last minute but having had balconies for a few years, won't go back. So far my strategy has paid off, the OBC has been higher on pre release prices and I am happy.
  12. We travel from South Yorkshire the day before. Leave home about 9.30, straight down the M!, with a stop for 30 mins, arriving at M25 about 12.30. Up until now never been too busy and on M3 in about 45 minutes. Another stop for 30 mins at Fleet Services and into Southampton about 3.30 .
  13. For those of us 75+ you can book a Covid jab through NHS web site.
  14. A lovely day, temperature on my patio at 0800 was 0c, at 1230 it was 22c 😁 Plenty of garden jobs finished and then onto my lounger from 1300 until 1700. Clear blue sky, bliss, as was my afternoon G&T. Forecast is same again tomorrow !
  15. When sailing from Southampton we have a carry on wheelie with 24 cans of pepsi maxi and a dozen cans of tonic. Keep then under the bed and top up the fridge as required. Of course a couple of litres of gin !
  16. As a former RN sailor in the 60's I well remember some shipmates who we knew were gay but were very careful. One Petty Officer was seen in a bar, by an officer, kissing a man. He was arrested on his return to the ship, flown back to UK. Court Martial followed and he was reduced to the ranks, lost any pension rights, sentenced to 12 months imprisonment and dishonorably discharged. The officer who reported him was rightly ostracized, unfortunately once he had reported it to the Commander, it was inevitable what happened. Nice to see the totally different attitude in todays Navy.
  17. Let me know time and place so I can be sure to avoid. 😁
  18. They are not "special" My wife and I were in a bar where they were socialising. We joined in and had a good laugh. Why post if you object to an announcement in the ships paper ?
  19. Best wishes Purdey. At least you have some comfort knowing your family on here are supporting you. x
  20. Current late prices are low for most of the cruise lines, even the 6* luxury brand. River cruises are also available at 50% + discounts. Disposable income is down for many and bound to take its toll on cruises.
  21. On a visit to Saffron Walden I bought a new Tommy Hilfiger shirt for £6.95 in a charity shop. It was current stock at the time and retailed at £69.95, I was a huppy bunny.
