  1.  Our 40 day adventure has come to a close. We will be getting off here and flying back to Long Beach to spend time with our grandchildren. It was nice meeting you Raphael and Debbie and we look forward to seeing you again in Singapore. We will be arriving on the 10th. We might not qualify for the MTG luncheon but bartenders nominated me for the MTBS award ( Most Time on a Barstool ). They said they might even have my name engraved on it. It's been a fun trip. Looking forward to October. Aloha! Tim and Suzanne

You need to watch YouTube "Outdoor Boys".  He loves his Spam.  I can't believe you can't survive 2 weeks without your Spam/Eggs/Rice...and do you bring your own shoyu?  What's next? Portuguese Sausage?

This cruise is 40 days😀 They have plenty shoyu onboard. I had a baked Cod over Chorizo the other night and I'm going to make the Cod with Portuguese Sausage when I get home.

That seems like a problem. Bringing outside food into the ship's food preparation areas seems like a Bad Idea™. No way that's allowed.

My duck noodle soup tonite was ono. It's just putting a cup of my duck into a bowl of soup. Nothing different from someone bringing something from the buffet to have put into their soup which I've seen. I've brought cans of spam ( gotta love spam, eggs and rice) and have asked the buffet line to cook half for me and they get the rest. They've been more than happy to do it. I always give them an extra can for later.

  4. I forgot about immigration in Honolulu and have a bunch of appointments in the morning at home. Went to GS this am and they were able to get me a slot in the first group off at 0715. They said letters would be coming tonight about times to clear. Now just hope I can take my Wife’s FULL bag of Grandkids “stuff” off to ship to them back in Long Beach”.

We just received our crossing the Date Line certificates.  I wish there was a way to opt out of these?  I hate to waste their time and paper on something we do not need.  We would have a stack of them if we kept them all!  I'm going to mention this to the HGM...

Just think, they could give you double Effy sales or Art auction flyers on regular paper for the cost of the fancy one😃

It looks like both of those are from the same port of Tauranga.

We just did a tour to Hobbiton last week with the company I'll list below. They had 4 tickets left on the morning of the tour that got grabbed at the port. I booked WAY in advanced. They will not accept cruiseship tours. I had it booked through Princess and it was cancelled so I booked this company. Very good tour, even though I've never read or seen any of the books.ScreenShot2024-04-28at6_39_10AM.png.4564fcce54cfd4ee3f224e0f96471c10.png

We have been hearing a lot of folks coughing and sneezing.  🥺

Last year on the Crown Lax-Lax, Moorea was ground zero for a nasty bronchial infection. Might be the humid air, I have no idea. Was doing my regular laps today and it will be my last time going through the Hollywood Conservatory. Deep coughing and it wasn't just the chorine air, starting to sound like seals barking. Unfortunately people don't care, they will do what they want regardless if feeling sick or not. Here we go.

Just those friendly black tip reef sharks.

@LACruiser88, were you anchored in Cooks or Opunohu Bay to get to that lovely beach?

Fun to snorkel with the rays and sharks. We tendered into the Papetoei tender pier. We rented a small boat for the 2 of us. You need a license to rent anything with over a 5hp motor. Slow ride, but loved every minute

Anyone offering snorkeling excursions once off the ship in Papeete?

Last year when we were here you could only exit the dock area by walking to the left along the dock to a small park area. This year you can exit to the right directly to the street. If you go to the left you'll run into people selling all types of tours, both for Papeete and for Moorea. This area is also where the food trucks are at night.

  10. Turned the balcony table upside down and used Duct tape and bungee cords to secure. It would've taken the whole table with it if a gust that strong came along.Zoom in on the picture and you can see how it was attached We only opened then when we were out there. Never an issue. Again, I doubt you'd be able to do what I did but I can't see why you couldn't bring your own collapsible umbrella onboard.

  11. This was 10yrs ago on the Island Princess. Turned our non covered balcony into a covered one. Only used them when we out there. Doubt you could use them on the balcony today. Gave them to our room steward. They collapesed down nicely and we checked them in when boarding.
