  1. Fantastic, my next cruise as Al Stewart as one of the artist, can’t wait to hear his song “Year of the Cat” which for some of us is every year 😁
  2. There is a great dolphin encounter on Roatan, it used to be a rccl excursion but it hasn’t been recently, by far best encounter we ever tried.
  3. If you upgrade without royal up you will get the 3 points
  4. We did Le Petit Chef twice ln March , both we’re different menus , one included lobster, show for both was about 90 minutes
  5. We always book suites, just love suite perks on E class like apex. If outdoor retreat is too cold there is a large indoor retreat with huge windows that would be great for viewing. Plus food in Luminae is extremely good , having the suite concierge is a big plus he can help with any issues you might have . I wish you and your wife a great cruise no matter what you choose. I would expect the ship to be full.
  6. I love my New York City trips as much as cruising, my problem is there is no drink package that covers the bars there , but better entertainment, my 2 bathroom 800 sq Ft suite isn’t cheap , and cruise can’t match the food .
  7. 214 to MSc seaside yacht club 318 to rock and romance cruise with Air Supply, Guess Who, Mellisa Manchester, Kansas, Al Stewart , etc etc
  8. Cruises are really casual compared to a decade ago, I used to pack a tux now I don’t even bring a sports jacket for most cruises. As Bob said the times they are a changing 😁.
  9. I believe there is a charter filled with broadway artist , lots of music charters we annually do a 70’s music charter on celebrity. It sells our really quick did it last 6 years.
  10. Our last Mediterranean cruise was in September and it was way to hot , it was miserable visiting the Vatican where no shorts are allowed and no a/c or fans ,wife thought she would pass our . Other Mediterranean was in March and weather was perfect for walking around.
  11. Make sure you arrive at least two days early, I would prefer 3 . Barcelona is a beautiful city with lots to do and fairly inexpensive, perfect city to start a cruise. What ports will you be visiting? Join your roll call , we did most of our tours with other people from our ship which is cheaper , less crowded and more enjoyable that rccl tours. Watch Rick Steves videos of your ports on YouTube.
  12. Hobby is so much closer to Galveston than IAH much better for anybody taking a cruise.
  13. Back in the 1970’s I worked across the street fro Fraunce’s tavern, now about a block away from it is a street filled with pubs and traffic is not allowed, also a few blocks from Trinity church where Alexander Hamilton is buried, which is a few blocks from World Trade Center museum and memorial. But tons of other things in midtown.
  14. We love Gallaghers, which also has a fantastic bar , seen many famous people there including George C Scott , we go there daily for drinks when in the city . It’s a hundred years old at original location.
  15. I prefer midtown but my wife wants us to have another dinner at Delmonic’s which is a famous upscale steak restaurant.
  16. Got my car back from the shop , it was under 500 so I am happy , planning on keeping car , only 38k miles and I haven’t had a car payment in a decade . Only 24 days to New York City 😁 still meet some friends from more than 60 years ago although not many left.
  17. If in a full suite ( grand suite or above) you also get breakfast in specialty restaurant normally chops. You will be charged for specialty restaurant, I would consider the UDP which allows all dinners in specialty and lunch on sea days.
