  1. Thanks for the tip. Where does the special cruise port yellow bus stop in the city center?
  2. Thanks for that. I fly on miles/points 99% of the time, and always wondered if credit card insurance would back me up.
  3. This is the thing I don't get. Cruise cabins, in my former road warrior opinion, are extremely sound proofed. It takes a television cranked up to 11 to be heard next door...
  4. Probably the same type of people who recline their airplane seat so far that you could give them a shampoo!
  5. If so, will prices change meaningfully? 🙂 🙂 🙂
  6. They're also useful in unexpected ways. Last month, I accidentally left my backpack in a 4x4 offroad jeep. On the shuttle back to the port, I got notification that I left something behind. It was within about 5 or 10 minutes. Soon enough to turn around and get it. I apologized to the rest of the shuttle, but they were all very nice about the detour.
  7. I dunno.... mauidiver on Millenium got it, but Tricia28 on Millenium did not get it. So it is not a ship/crew thing. Possibly an itinerary thing. My theory is a lot of stuff is a 'shrug' now after the pandemic. Sometimes you get something, sometimes you don't. Why? Shrug.
  8. I wonder what could possibly be the logic behind that... 🤪 The itinerary is known, it has to be to sell the excursions, dining reservations, and even the cruise itself. ??
  9. NCL has refunded all my money. Rather quickly, I might add. One thing is ancillary costs, like airline cancellation fees. I guess the UK has some protections in this area. I'm from the US, and I don't think I have any regulatory protection there. Only thing is travel insurance. Er... I mean travel insurance that will perform as prescribed when the time comes haha
  10. Maybe it's just me, but I'd sail either NCL or RCCL with no hesitation. The differences are more to one's preferences and likes than anything else. Just reading this thread, there are some who say X, others that say Y. They're both right, for what they prefer and are looking for. We sail mostly on NCL, but have been doing Royal lately. Next one up is Celebrity, first time. We sail itinerary first, all the other stuff is a distant second 🙂
  11. Agreed, but sounds like folks here have paid for services they are not receiving. Trip cancellation insurance --> trip cancelled --> but no service 😉 Maybe we should identify companies that pay out when appropriate, and send them the business 🙂
  12. Yeah, verifies the stories we've all heard. Eager to take the premiums, but stingy when paying out.
  13. I think it is an edit error on the Terms and Conditions. On the coupon title, it has the correct date range. Looks like someone copied and pasted from a different offer, but not fully edit and customize for this offer.
  14. Does anyone remember if the ship docked at Skarfabakki port? Ncl web site lists that port, which is unfortunately far from my accomodation 🙂
  15. I've had that experience twice. Random operator that is very efficient, knowledgeable and pleasant. One said she was a PVP, but wanted more stable income.
  16. Does that suggest that they won't know if someone is doing what the OP is asking about? I.e. they can't easily tell the difference between a port stopping passenger, and a newly embarked passenger? I mean, they could read their screen carefully I guess, but I don't think they will... I thought only MSC does the bus style get-on/get-off at all sort of ports during a sailing.
  17. I had not heard that. I did some searching here on CC, and find no mention. Is it confirmed that the same menu experiment has failed and is now scrapped?
  18. Just stepped off NCL. My credit cards do not match up, but I had no problems booking excursions, etc. I'm sorry you had to endure this. Not once, not twice, but three times. Standing in line at guest services is not how one would like to spend their precious cruise. Especially repeatedly for the same issue.
  19. There's also an intangible cost to this mass cancellation event. It's a bunch of upset customers and loss of goodwill. It won't show up on the genius' spreadsheet in Miami, but it is real. This used to count for something, but maybe not in 2023. And all the lines have a boatload of debt to work through...
  20. I'm an NCL fan, but caught up in today's canceling of all Epic sailings from Dec 2023 thru Apr 2023 for "fleet redployment". Yes, quite irked... 😕
  21. We had half a dozen cancels during the pandemic. Brings back bad memories of having to unwind travel. In my case, travel insurance won't do anything for the points I transferred to an airline I usually don't fly for the Epic embark port we were on. Those points are stuck now.
  22. Just got the email. This stinks... I have hotel, flights, etc. all lined up. I will incur at least flight penalties, not to mention points stuck with an airline I don't normally fly 😞 Dear Valued Guests and Travel Partners, On behalf of Norwegian Cruise Line, thank you very much for your loyalty and for making us your vacation of choice. We have important information regarding your upcoming sailing onboard Norwegian Epic. We ask that travel advisors please share this update with impacted guests. 23. Just got back, and no one asked for proof.
