  1. Thanks for the reminder, I had totally forgot about the doughnuts- they were great and within the Icy Point area. Fisherman's Daughter was great too, a local recommended had it to us. Locally caught halibut for the win! yum yum.
  2. Fwiw, Princess was still handing out logoed tote bags as of a couple of months ago.
  3. Icy Strait can be quite interesting. There's several hikes through the rainforest, two right from the port. There's also a bear finding excursion (I haven't tried that). Visiting nearby Hoonah was nice, there's a place that serves locally caught seafood.
  4. At least that guy brought his "formal" dark-colored backpack 🤣 I'm pretty easy going, but I hope they turned that dude away 🤣
  5. Any problems with biting bugs in Greenland?
  6. I remember those- I think it was called WLCL "World's Leading Cruise Lines". It was all the lines under Carnival Corporation. Carnival, Princess, Holland, P&O, Cunard, etc As with you, our Carnival deal is carnival only this time around.
  7. My guess is that the marketing robot that made this decision is below 70, and has no kids...?
  8. There's lots of working fossils happily cruising and playing with fire during dangerous bird watching excursions 😀
  9. Do you recall if Radiance in Juneau used the downtown cruise port, or the southern one a bus ride away?
  10. I booked with on of the big box online TAs. There is no online payment details or pay button. I guess with some TAs, they want to handle the payments, even though I believe celebrity still actually processes and handles the money.
  11. Isn't there a Canadian requirement for a virus test when boarding a cruise ship in Canada? If so, did you show the virus test since they did not ask for ArriveCAN?
  12. For the typical Northbound Alaska cruise that starts in Vancouver, never touches another Canadian port, and ends in Anchorage, is ArriveCAN needed? We intend to fill it out based on the posts we read on CC, but my reading of Canadian requirements shows that it conflicts with itself. The sections are pasted below. What am I missing here? https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/cruise Seems like ArriveCAN is needed ---------------------------------------------------- Entering Canada by land or air before embarking on a cruise You must complete your ArriveCAN submission before entering Canada, no more than 72 hours of boarding your flight or before entering Canada by land. If you’re flying in to join a cruise immediately, enter the address of your terminal. If you’re not joining the cruise immediately, enter the address of your hotel. You must also submit a second ArriveCAN submission no more than 72 hours before boarding the cruise. This applies even if your second ArriveCAN submission is within 72 hours of the first submission. Seems like ArriveCAN not needed ------------------------------------------------------ Boarding cruises and shore excursions Some requirements for boarding a cruise, either at the beginning of the cruise or as part of a shore excursion, may be different depending on where you are boarding and which countries your ship will visit. Mandatory requirements for all travellers, including Canadians, include pre-embarkation testing and can include ArriveCAN if your ship is coming to or returning to Canada. Choose the scenario below that best fits your cruise plans: Starting an international cruise in Canada or arriving by cruise from another country Cruises that are staying in Canadian waters or not returning to Canada All travellers are required to take a pre-embarkation COVID-19 test before embarking on a cruise in Canada, even if the cruise ship is not leaving Canadian waters Travellers who are staying within Canada throughout their entire journey or who are leaving Canada and not returning don’t have to complete ArriveCAN.
  13. Everyone has different flight times and is located differing distances from the airport. And every trip is different. Say for example, an early international flight when you are two hours from the airport. What is hard for me may not be hard to you 😀
  14. That's easier said than done 😀 With the chaos in air travel, many people are now arriving two nights before embarkation. That would mean testing on flying day, difficult to do. Or testing at embark city, assuming you find good wifi or have an international data plan.
  15. Did the registration require all the keys to the kingdom? (Social security number, birthday, health insurance number, passport, drivers license)
  16. Thanks, that's helpful. That will let us test before our travel day. Travel day is already frantic enough as it is. A couple of questions about Rapidtestandtrace what type of virtual tech did they use? Zoom? what type of personal info? Just birthday, and name, right? No social security number I hope Did they want cruiseline and cruise booking number? Some online proctors ask for this, but people have wondered here on CC why it matters...
  17. That's encouraging! If society could also do something about litterers, dog/cat owners that don't pick up, condo dwellers that blast the music, .. 😃 😃 😃
  18. The OP mentioned later that the negatives in the party was not allowed to dine normally, and were barred from visiting ports. While not quite a quarantine, it is much, much less than a normal cruise experience.
  19. Was the local bottled water taken onboard at embarkation, or at a port?
  20. How about during the show, did it feel like a mask was necessary then as well?
  21. I see a table for 4 😀 😀 😀
  22. I know this is the RCL side of CC, but was made you disappointed with Summit?
  23. Please confirm that I have this correct 😀 no virus test required upon initial entry into Vancouver virus test required (by Canada) before boarding a cruise embarking from Vancouver
