  1. Sorry the weather wasn't better. We just got off a ten day on Mera. Very similar YC and pool food experience. YC dinners were C-. One night we just walked out and went to buffet. Another three looked at menu and said no. One of a few lunches ordered lasagna. It looked like Stouffer's vegi but mostly green beans. I ate three bites and it was disgusting. Filets were my normal go to in the past. Three out of seven good, rest could not even eat they were too chewy. While the dinner staff are working hard, I have to think a lot of it is process related on the service end. I think things are not set up efficiently. One example, order a drink, staff has to go either down or up to a bar to get. TSL busy but one bartender and staff queued up waiting.
  2. Walked in the deck seven area a few times. It used to be part of the casino and very quiet with seating. See now plans say comedy club for the forward part. Since those rooms appear to be above an area where the club and casino meet I'd think you'd be ok.
  3. For us, it is for adult children to have own space without having to book two rooms. At end of the day, there is nothing preventing kids from being in YC. We've had two of eight very full with kids. Kids making lots of noise even in lounge. The parents just as bad.
  4. Which MSC ships have you been on? Just did fourth Mera and one show was crew but all others high end production shows with a cast of 20 including band excluding techs. That was over ten days.
  5. One thing MSC needs to do is have two bedroom family suites in YC. They don't have to be as big as NCL, but really a need.
  6. Seems very odd that Duncan not out and about over 21 days. Larry escorted us on the ship so he was memorable although not our butler. Very nice guy. From Kenya iirc.
  7. Hola's unlimited is only $18 so a good value. Yesterday I had burger king for just under $14. I wish I could have been at Holas with DW.
  8. Maybe a peace treaty drink at Brass Anchor?
  9. Ok, maybe a little full disclosure. If you are in TSL now, there are probably no more than seven people there excluding staff. Has the weather been nice enough to use pool area food and bar, guessing yes since you went south? Have you seen Duncan the YCD? We saw him for a total of one minute going between doors over ten days. Very odd.
  10. No surprise this derailed. Much like food, subjective subject. We saw at least three turn aways at YC restaurant couple weeks ago. One couple constantly looked like they rolled out of bed. Went to dinner got turned back. They were cussing going down the stairs. Could have been a Clampett, who knows. Or maybe airline pilot. I grew up in community where most folks were pilots. Even have two in the family. They are horrible in dress generally. Even for me, sloppy not acceptable. Another couple was late 30s and could be models. Think it was holes in her jeans. Next night they were dressed to the hilt and could have been on a stage.
  11. They can also be no shows booking on ship. They can figure out other shows. The bts is usually a sea day. Not difficult to figure out.
  12. Is anyone seeing other potatoes at buffet that are remnants from night before like baked potatoes?
  13. So the couple had their picture taken by the pool behind Le Muse? Did it include the option of people changing into swimsuits at pool like we got for free including speedos?
  14. We have done Food Republic several times and always great and usually not busy. Huge variety of options.
  15. You would think this day and age bookable online but no, have to go to CN desk first night and wait in line, for your convenience, of course.
  16. No, that is there MO for new ships over the years.
  17. To add, when you finally get into the drop off area, to the right at the beginning is the shared ride pick up spot. I'll see if I can find the other thread, but the YC tent is off to the left as someone pointed out in a map. One other person later said, I believe incorrectly, the YC tent was right by the entrance. What we had was tent to left after you make the turn and are parallel to the ship. There was no one there though. A coach bus parked and the driver actually took over and put tags on bags then to racks. You walk back north to a staging area with just one land butler, who was absent because someone thought that was the drop off spot and he had to cart their luggage back to the other tent. He then takes you into the terminal. Once inside told to go to counter even though we said YC. Agent checked us in then realized YC then walked us to separate YC check-in. So once in terminal and approaching the wall of agents, turn left, walk forward until you see the ship butlers and they will take you to counter.
  18. I know older thread but trip still ahead. When does OP get into San Juan? Typically 5pm so that limits what to do.
  19. We just did ten days on Mera disclaimer YC though. We did spend tons of time around ship though. Fourth time on Mera since late 2021. Always good time. Pizza still very good. Pepperoni, some kind of Alfredo, plain at buffet. Room service more options. We did spa one week ago. Had a great time.
  20. Which MSC ship? If Mera, there is a pool towel station starboard just before entering Bamboo.
  21. Welcome to CC. All but one time for us flying to Europe from US have been delayed one day due to weather. We planned to arrive day early, arrived day of.
  22. When we were on Seaside they had like four. They aren't a normal movie more like Imax options.
