  1. Anybody know when Princess will roll out their Winter 2025 Caribbean itineraries?
  2. Thank you. That's what we'll do. Is it usually any problem getting it in January 2024 when it comes out the end of December of the previous year?
  3. Does anybody know when Value Trips will offer their 2024 prices? We need a one night precruise hotel in Fort Lauderale in January 2024, and if they don't come out until December 2023, that makes me nervous to wait that long.
  4. I've previously set up a precruise dinner for about 14 at Coconuts. It was awesome and they did separate checks. Dinner was excellent and our request to sit on the outdoor patio with a water view was honored. It was January so a bit chilly, but they had heaters set up so it was very comfortable.
  5. Hubby and I were due to board a cruise this morning. Hubby tested positive on Thursday so we had to cancel. The first test he took on Wednesday ( started mild symptoms Tuesday night) was neg. Had he not tested again on Thursday we prob would have gone since today he is feeling better. I wonder how many people don’t bother to test again after one neg and still get on the ship?
  6. I spoke too soon. While I'm recovering without incident, hubby tested positive for Covid this morning. We were all packed and due to leave tomorrow. Now we've had to cancel😔
  7. Thank you for the prayers. They worked and I feel great! Surgery went off without a hitch and I'm cleared to cruise this weekend. Hubby and I will be doing 12 night Royal out of Baltimore to souhern Carib with my sis and family and a dear friend. We WILL meet up one of these days. You are awesome!!'
  8. What a beautiful wedding! My husband and I were married on May 18, 2002, onboard a Carnival cruise. We had 75 people that attended the wedding and cruised with us. We were married before the ship left port as my sister and BIL had infant twins and they were uncomfortable cruising with them or leaving them, but the rest all cruised with us. It was the best wedding ever! And ours was a bit less than yours as it was 20 years ago, but where could you host a wedding for 100 guests for 20K! Congrats and I wish you guys as much happiness as my husband and I have had these last 20 years. BTW, our cruising continues and we'll be boarding Enchantment this weekend and doing a TA on Odyssey from Rome in October!
  9. Not to get too graphic, but being a nurse, those foam dishes don't sit well with me!LOL
  10. Thank you so much. You are so sweet! Hubby and I went out to University of Pennsylvania yesterday. Some additional testing demonstrated a "hole" in between the chambers of my heart that may be the culprit causing my stroke. I am scheduled this Thursday at University of Pennsylvania Hospital for surgery to have this hole closed. Good vibes and positive healing thoughts (and prayers if you are so inclined; if not, no problem) are gladly accepted. And I will continue to follow your adventures, and if our paths do ever cross, I will hold you to your offer of a good bottle of Pinot Grigio!
  11. Thank you for realizing where I was coming from and not chastising me, as others tend to do when their way of thinking doesn't align with another's. Having said that, I didn't mean to insinuate that you were the one complaining about the meals and service. I guess I was pointing it out to others who do that; the fact of the matter is, if you're booked in a suite, your meals and service should be elevated compared to those in a lower category cabin. I take no issue with that at all. What I do take issue with is the fact that you have encountered less service than others given your sex and race . That is NEVER acceptable. But without getting political, I'm not surprised. Our country needs to do better. I think the only thing that I didn't think was fair was going ahead of people at a bar that were waiting before you. I'm not implying that you asked for that; it was a perk given your accommodations. Perhaps it annoyed me more because when I'm ready for my glass of Pinor Grigio (very chilled, if you please...LOL), I hate waiting a minute longer than necessary!!!LOL Good for you for achieving what you have in life that enables you to enjoy the fruits of your labor. Life is short (I know, my husband and I had a month-long land/cruise trip scheduled from Italy this past October, and one week before our departure, I suffered a massive stroke. (Completely unexpected, no health issues, and relatively young (67). The neurologist told me I was extremely lucky to survive this type of stroke (cerebellar) because most don't, and that I wasn't overseas when it occurred. I am recovering slowly and while I go through numerous tests to try to find the cause and continue to rehab, I will enjoy reading about your adventures. Again, thank you for taking the time and energy to allow us to travel along with you. Until I am ready to travel in person, I will do it vicariously through you!
  12. I'm thoroughly enjoying your reviews and photos. However, I don't think those who complain about the reduction in the quality of food and service on any of the cruiselines can be dismissed. Given that you are enjoying a more entitled cruise experience, the comparisons are apples to oranges (or filet mignon to hamburger...LOL). And it is a bit disconcerting that those in suites are "prioritized" to obtain a cocktail at a bar. Sorry, but that seems a bit elitist to me. Please don't be offended, because I am truly enjoying your experience. My husband and I will never get to that level, but it is nice to get another cruise perspective.
  13. The last TA that we took (Oct. 2019), Royal had brought onboard an artist. She held painting classes every day during the crossing. It was complimentary and it filled up very quickly. They supplied all materials. It was a blast!
  14. We will be taking s short, 3 day cruise on Royal Caribbean prior to a 10 day on Celebrity. Also one night precruise in Ft Lauderdale. We always take out third party travel insurance. Do we get one policy to cover it all, or separate policies for the 2 different cruises? The cruises are B2B but on 2 different cruise lines.
  15. So I'm confused. Do TA's from Europe to US still require supervised testing? We are vaccinated, and when we were due to sail from Ravenna to Florida this past October (we had to cancel as I, very unexpectedly, suffered a massive stroke), we had to be tested under supervision. We have rebooked a TA for this coming October (fingers crossed we're able to go healthwise), and I wonder if we need to set up a supervised test. I know it's many months away and things can change, but as of now what are the testing protocols for Europe to US TA's
  16. Make sure your return flight isnt cancelled. If you're not on the outbound flight, your return us automatically cancelked, unless on a different locatir number.
  17. We were due to fly to Italy on October 26 for the 6 night Italy/Croatia cruise, and staying onboard for the 15 night TA, One week prior, I suffered a very significant stroke and was hospitalized for almost a week. It was completely out of the blue as I'm fairly young (67) with no health issues. Of course we had to cancel. We do have travel insurance, so we are awaiting a refund for that. United Airlines gave us a credit, and Royal refunded our port taxes. I am slowly recovering, but no where near ready to cruise yet. We've been on over 40 cruises, and we never go without travel insurance. When our kids were little, I worried that something unforeseen could happen to them, necessitating our canceling. As they become less of a worry, we had aging parents to consider. This was a rather pricey trip, so I am so grateful we have travel insurance. I will feel even better when I receive the reimbursement check! Good luck and I hope your wife gets well soon.
  18. Do you know where Vage Promenade is on Brilliance?
  19. I am trying to cut my alcohol consumption due to elevated blood sugar. I'm diamond. Can i use any of my vouchers for specialty coffee? And uf so, where fo I obtain it. I think Starbucks is not included.
  20. Do you accrue the same amount of daily points if you're in an interior cabin vs a balcony cabin?
  21. Ive never heard of cruises to Bermuda in the middle of winter.
  22. We're doing a precruise in Bologna and I've scheduled our rapid antigen test at a farmacia for €12 pp. I'm sure all are the same throughout Italy. I called and scheduled ours fir Oct 27. Results in 15 min.
  23. Don't mean to be picky, but some punctuation would make this a much easier read.
