  1. I will let you know in under 12 months. 😃
  2. I've always believed that 'jeans' and 'Smart' illustrate the perfect oxymoron.
  3. The sisters have certainly pulled the stops out over the Coronation celebrations. Here, courtesy of another Cunard facebook group run by yours truly reflect the efforts onboard Queen Elizabeth... ***** ***** ****** ****** ******
  4. See new thread @Bell Boy Queen Elizabeth's turn. 😉
  5. And a couple from the Coronation afternoon tea... ******
  6. I've been asked to share a couple of photographs that have appeared on one of my FB Cunard Groups. They have attracted particularly good comments. Not wishing them to be lost in the other thread which appears to have moved into apps and dining, I trust they will illustrate the more attractive side of Cunard's Coronation efforts. To quote the entry.... This is Ian and Roger the ships florists who worked through the night for 9 hours to complete this incredible crown ready for 6.20am today. The ships carpenter created the structure and took him 3 days. The display includes the King Charles Rose, Scottish Thistles and Cornflowers. A great deal of thought, planning and care has gone into to this. Amazing effort... Amazing? Thats almost an understatement.
  7. A most observant interjection @exlondoner : though we only booked the 'original' maiden as long standing 'Cunarders' wishing to be part of something new. (as we have done with P&O on a number of occasions) Cunard isn't of course a 'dirty word' where we subscribe to. 😉😉
  8. Same here, then took the new maiden preference when it all went pear shaped. Simple when you have the UK's top Cunard Agent looking after you. Action not words has always been my driver. There's no substitute for it. Talk is cheap.😂
  9. Thanks for your kind invitation @Bell Boy
  10. Hey @Bell Boy , some folk just don't understand the tradition. 😉😉
  11. A TA who is allowed to operate on one of my Cunard Facebook groups.

  13. I have a friend working at this moment at the 'Ocean Terminal'. He sent me this text seconds ago... 'Yes, just heard UK passengers are being sent home when they arrive. International passengers are being offered a night onboard whilst travel arrangements are sorted! '
  14. Considering the numbers involved my best guess (speculation) is that Cunard are at this moment busy seeking to charter an aircraft (or two). I don't have any idea at the numbers involved however.
  15. I feel for Cunard, A double whammy as many American passengers were due to transfer from Queen Victoria this morning for the trans Atlantic voyage home on Queen Mary 2.
  16. All over facebook.... I Quote...'they cancelled it today. We’re on the New York return leg. Our friends who we were going to meet for a big birthday next week are in Southampton waiting to get on. I don’t know how Cunard could cancel so close to embarkation when they knew there was an engine problem."
  17. I've just donned my tin hat. 😂😂
  18. Well there are 8 under the Carnival Corporation Banner. 😃
  19. Absolutely. Just get the couple in the Britannia Club to have a word with their Maitre d' who will have a word with the Britannia's Maitre d'. It will of course be easier should you not have requested a table for two. We did similar twice while in Queens Grill onboard Queen Mary 2 for a 56 night voyage to Sydney. We just really wanted a change of scenery and someone different to talk to.It worked out very well.
  20. Sadly that website that allowed one to produce a personal 'Ticker' has ceased to function. It is still out there but no longer can one update it..... Might be a neat and profitable project for an up and coming techie. https://www.afternic.com/forsale/CRUISE-SHIPS.COM?traffic_id=GoDaddy_DLS&traffic_type=TDFS&utm_campaign=TDFS_GoDaddy_DLS&utm_medium=sn_affiliate_click&utm_source=TDFS
  21. Well put and I fully empathise with your remarks. We too kicked off our cruising life with Cunard and moved across to P&O (Caribbean) while also continuing with Cunard(Diamond). For us it was the urge to seek new adventures, visit new ports and not continue with the same old, same old onboard routines. That drove us towards numerous other cruise lines in search of more varied itineraries and river cruising. Next up is a first time with Azamara and three new ports in the Eastern Mediterranean ( to add to our 248 port count) And like you, our most enjoyable cruise experiences were on ships somewhat short in size than those currently sailing under the P&O flag. Happy continued cruising.
