With the beach beds you DO NOT get your ticket in your cabin.
You WILL get a menu, and you have to fill it out and drop it off at Guest Services to get your beach bed ticket.
No priority tender with a beach bed?

1. Logic is not Royal Caribbean's strong suit.
2. Logic is even more not port workers' strong suit.
If they spot it, I would expect them to confiscate it and not listen to any arguments about it being "the same as two bottles".

What do you think my chances are carrying 2 bota mini's instead of 2 bottles of wine? Each mini is less than 750 ml, so actually bringing less than allotment. But sooooo much easier to carry 2 bota minis than bottles of wine.

Is there vegetable sushi in the buffet too? Like the Explorer had? (Now I'm dating myself)

Are the beach beds assigned on a first come, first served basis? I'm wondering if it's wise to get out there early if you care about the location of your beach bed.

Finding/reserving any area for 40 people on your own is probably going to be challenging. I wonder if you booked the cruise as a group and if there is a special liaison that can help you?
My understanding is the clamshell/cabinette is for 2 people and ~$50. The beach bed is for up to 4 people (according to the RCL website) and ~$150. The cabana is for 6 people I *think* though it's not specified on the RCL website and more like $229. I have seen these items go on sale for less, I'm sure it depends on the particular sailing.
Go do the RCL website, click "the experience", "shore excursions" and at bottom click search by ports of call, then click on CocoCay. They list what is included for each (ie. towels, floating mats, snorkel gear) but no prices. Probably because it varies depending on the sailing.

If you have a balcony, I'd bring a cheapy audio baby monitor so you can sit outside on your balcony with the slider closed during naps or after bedtime without disturbing the kiddos.

Specific to Anthem, how reliable is texting/calling using VOOM?
We last sailed 2 years ago, and I recall the Royal IQ texting was really hit or miss, not reliable at all. I don't think they had VOOM back then, or at least we didn't purchase it.
Also, how does one call over wifi and can it be done on an old iPhone that no longer has phone service? I'll be sailing with my 11 year old who doesn't have a phone, and I'm looking for reliable ways we can be in contact at a moments notice, if she isn't with us. TIA

We sailed over T-giving without CK reservations, and we made them very easily when we got on board. The reservation desk is just outside the restaurant.
(which is very unlike Harmony, who we could not even talk to anyone, since we could not get inside where the desk was)
Were you "only" in a JS too? Good to know, thanks!

So did Harry - but once on the ship, the table number was changed and no amount of complaining got the Miami assigned table back.

That has been reported ever since DD was canceled - RCI updating its web sites is not a priority.
I'm sure, I know their website is notoriously behind. I was poking fun at the RCL website (and also explaining why I called it dynamic dining classic.). I had hoped using a friendly smiley face and not a snarky one in response to MM would indicate as such.

Send the same email and as for a 4-top for your party of 3. There are no 3-tops.
Thank you, most helpful!

There is no DD Classic. Dynamic Dining was cancelled 14 months ago. You have traditional main seating at 5:30.
Your table and dining room assignment will be printed on your SeaPass cards, which you will get in your cabin. Cabins should open around 1. Take your cards and go to your dining room and locate your table. If it is NOT a 4-top, see the host/ess at the podium and ask for what you want.
:)
Somebody better tell Royal Caribbean there is no dynamic dining classic because this is a screenshot when I'm logged into my cruise . [emoji4]

It's been 2 years since we cruised with RCL and this will be our first time as a party of 3 (we've always cruised with both kids before, as a party of 4.) My question is, will our request for a private dining table for our party of 3 on Anthem be granted? We have the early DD Classic seating at 5:30.
The past several RCL cruises we've taken, I've emailed the dining dept 3-4 weeks out and requested a 4-top for our party of 4. They have always delivered. Can I do the same for a party of 3 and ask for a 3-top?
TIA

You may not be able to reserve until you are on board.
Not the answer I wanted, but not surprised either.

How does a JS guest book CK for dinner (pre cruise)? It's not showing up as an option in my cruise planner under dining, although the specialty restaurants are. TIA

We just booked a junior suite for the four of us on Anthem and THEN I found out after booking, it's just a regular balcony cabin with two separate bathrooms......and ONE big bed and a foldout sofa......we're changing that reservation!
As far as I understand, the FJS on Anthem is larger than a regular balcony cabin, has 2 twin beds (or one king bed, depending on how you configure), a pull-out sofa and some have a pullman bed as well. Then there's the 1.5 bathrooms you mentioned.
Curious, what did you *think* the FJS was when you booked? A second bedroom? (that would be nice!)

We chose the clamshell, it was incredible for the 2 of us, but I'm afraid your 11 yo would be bored - there are no toys or anything like that. There is beautiful beach, attentive waiters and a trolly ride to and from the lunch location.
Thank you. I've been reading the beach on that section of Coco Cay is swampy/sludgy/gross. Did you find that to be the case?

Does anyone have pictures of a Quantum class Family Junior Suite with the pullman bed out? I haven't been able to find anything through either cruise critic, cruise deck plans dot com, nor google search. All the Family Junior Suite pictures I'm seeing don't have a pullman bed. My daughter would very much like to see where she'll be sleeping!
TIA

Anyone know where the beds are located? We are going for a bungalow or bed, which ever is available, and we are sailing in 2 weeks, so I will be glad to take photos are looks for things for anyone else and report back.
Hi there, wondering which you chose and whether you have any advice? I'm leaning towards the bed, thinking it will offer more sun coverage, but I'm concerned about the location and whether it will be boring for my 11 year old? Thanks!

Isn't there the family junior suite that fits 5 on Anthem? Though my personal preference would still be 2 connecting cabins, so 4 of the people have actual beds, plus you have 2 full baths. In the family junior suite, 2 kids are sleeping on a pullout sofa and one in a pullman over the sofa. For baths, the family junior suite has one full bath with a full sizes bathtub plus a separate 1/2 bath (toilet & sink only.)

No flames here. If you feel the service has been adequate but not "wow," the standard gratuity should suffice.

If your sailing had the 20% off beverage package promotion, do buy on-line (or over the phone) at least 4 days prior to embarkation. There's a good chance they won't offer the 20% off on board.

As I (Diane) said, Gigi had a "bandage" around her neck covering the hole. It was only obvious if you knew to look, which I did. DH didn't notice until I told him.
We wore jeans to Grande the last night (I never wear jeans to the MDR, but I had a cold and packing was exhausting so I just wore what I was wearing off the ship).
Sorry for calling you Barbara. The BND keeps confusing me because I want to put the woman first:)

As others have noted, any time during March & April, you'd have to expect a lot of children. Especially Easter week.

How is the snorkeling on the beach where the beds are for rent?
