  1. Thank you for the feedback. I'm curious, did you purchase food from the restaurant during your time at the beach? I am wondering if they did not go out of their way to help you because you hadn't made a purchase?

  2. Anything is possible, but I do not think you should make a decision based on possible "political unrest." Chances of "political unrest" on day you are there are very small. On day you are there, if you find that things are going on - protests etc. - just change the plans and go to Divi Little Bay. Le Galion is fine - closer than Orient to pier.

My question would have been better worded as: is there still political unrest and protesters blocking streets? Will we have any trouble getting to/from Le Gallion?

What was your trouble finding a taxi for the return trip? My understanding is the restaurant will call for you???

  3. Optimal time to arrive is 10:00 - 10:30 am. Definitely get there by 11:00 AM.

We live in Stamford and left our house at 8:40 AM and were at the port at 10:00 AM (pulling into the parking garage at 10:00 am after dropping off luggage). We sailed on a Monday.

I assume you wanted a breakfast place in Bayonne. I have asked this in the past and have been told there is the Broadway Diner which is about 3 miles from the cruise port.

That looks interesting. It's very close to Exit 14A. Two of the 3 miles would be on the port road, so it's really close and convenient.

    Sounds perfect, thank you!

  4. Apparently we had memorable frozen drinks 2 years ago in OSJ, because my nine-year-old would not stop talking about it. I vaguely remember getting frozen drinks and fresh coconut water from a stand that I believe was in a plaza near San Cristbol. Does anyone know of this establishment?

    Thx

  5. I didn't read the entire thread. Has it been suggested that the 2 without passports get expedited same-day passports (expensive & could be the nearest passport agency to OP that offers this service is hours away.). Then meet the ship at next port (at your cost to get there.)

Granted, this is an expensive option, but at least you'd make part of the cruise.

  6. I've never emailed them before but I emailed them last week for my May 14th Anthem sailing (before reading any of the comments regarding the change.) Marlene Prieto said to email back two weeks prior to sailing.

I wasn't sure if that was due to it being too early if it in fact had to do with the change for Anthem. So I'll email back at the end of April/May 1st.

I'm sailing on Anthem this Friday. They weren't able to address my email request until 9 days prior to sailing

  7. 5 pages of 100% pro DD comments on this thread since I posted yesterday.. So where has all this DD love been the past year???

    Too late everybody!!!

    This ⬆️

Exactly, It's crazy when DD first came out everyone was complaining. Now that they say they are changing it, everyone is coming out of the woodwork saying how much they want it. Where was everyone in support of DD when people were complaining?

    And this ⬆️

Agree with this. I always use the first site Bob listed, and call to talk with a live person. They can walk you through options, coverage limits and look-back periods, etc.

There are policies that cover preexisting conditions outside of the initial booking period, but they will cost more than if you had bought at the same time as booking.

The insurance RCL sells does not cover preexisting unless purchased within 2 weeks of booking. At least that was the policy the last time I booked.

  9. No, the beverage packages are limited to full glasses of wine, and also won't work on machines.

Thanks Bob. As always, you've got me covered!

TY for the advice last week on waiting to nudge dining for a response. They did get back to me yesterday, 1 week & 2 days prior to sailing. I also learned from the screenshot they sent me that classic early dining will be at 5:30 instead of six as indicated on our documents.

  10. Vintages has a wine station where you can try all the fine wines in 2, 4 or 6 oz pours. Loved this...you just put your card or wow band up to the scanner and voila! Sadly the card reader was malfunctioning most of the time so I would ask the bartender for whatever I wanted to try. Very nice to be able to try a small pour from a $100+ bottle of wine.

I was just wondering how much the 2, 4 and 6oz pours cost? Do you have a menu for the wine choices in Vintages in the wine station?

    Thanks

And, can you use a beverage package on the small pours (i.e. 2 oz)?

  11. because the difference here is that people on choice get turned away because they are holding tables for people who aren't going to show in classic. On other ships, traditional and mtd do not share space so it's not as much of an issue.

Say 2 couples shared a 4 top on classic but one night only one of the couples showed up, the other couple would better be utilised on a 2 top with a group of 4 going on the 4 because that's 4 people who they can up sell drinks too, sell bottles of wine etc.

If you have sent that 4 away because there wasn't a 4 top table and they've gone to the windjammer, there's less chance of being able to sell them something.

    I see your logic.

  12. Has anyone done this shore excursion, would you recommend it? Does it stop at the fort for a walk through? Our port time is from 2pm to 9pm, excursion is 3 hrs beginning at 2:30 pm, the fort closes at 6pm, would like to see fort too

Thanks in advance for any and all answers

We are looking at this too. Did you ever find anything out about the RCL bicycle excursion?
