  1. She will let you know what is her favorite jewelry store on board or when you can take a photo with her. Questions such as the banging in the rooms and why the heavy trail of smoke accompanying the ship were not asked. Inquiring minds want to know.
  2. We were in Seattle waiting to board and it was chaos. Wall to wall cruisers and there were cruisers from two ships in the same area. People were packed like sardines. No rush for us next time to get there early.
  3. You are correct. Fresh orange and grapefruit juices are available in Blu with no need for a beverage package.
  4. Each day the gratuities will be charged to your account and deducted from any funds you have in your account. If all of the funds have been used, the remainder of the balance due will be charged to the card you have on file.
  5. We were at a Roll Call party on the Beyond and I would say more cruisers than not had noise issues in their rooms. And the seas were pretty calm. I felt bad for those who had difficulties sleeping, especially those who were in a $$$ high end cabin. Luckily, for us, our room was quiet.
  6. There are more choices of dishes in the MDR. On some nights, we will not see anything we like so we either go to one of the MDRs or the Oceanview. On the Ascent, the food was very good in all venues. I found the service was more attentive in Blu and I was able to tweek dishes. On the Ascent, I was able to order food from the MDR but it was not allowed on the Beyond. I think it due to with the shortage of staff.
  7. On our recent cruise on Ascent, we had a different experience. This could be due to the fact that there was going to be a big turnover in staff and the singers/dancers over the following two weeks.
  8. Yes, you can make dining reservations early in advance. But it was a different story when actually on the ship. Once on the ship, it was Anytime Dining for us despite having reservations for all nights.
  9. Well said. On our cruise on Beyond, I had made reservations for each night and alternated dining venues. When I went to the first dining room, I was. told it was Anytime Dining and just show up. So my time making reservations was not needed. To confuse me, I was assigned a dining room and time. That is another issue that needs to be resolved.
  10. There is no early or late dining times. You just show up when you want to dine. The main dining rooms all open at 5:30 pm so if you want to eat at that time, show up to whatever dining room you want to eat in. No problem...
  11. In the shower, there is a pump of body wash (shower gel). You also get a bar of soap as well.
  12. Eden Cafe was open daily for lunch on our cruise but closed promptly at 1:15 pm. It was self-serve and no reservations needed. It was staffed by employees from the Eden Restaurant.
  13. No popcorn for you! But you will be offered a blanket.
  14. First, an Alaskan cruise is not suited for outdoor swimming. There were very few in the outdoor pools as it was very cool and windy. Also, family hours ran for a couple of hours per day in the late afternoon. As for soda, bring it on the ship in Seattle. You could bring back a bottle or two from one of the ports. But don't be surprised if you are asked to dispose of it before re-entering the ship.
  15. At least we get off the ship in Jamaica to check out the Marketplace behind the fences and security. A sea day in Nassau. Maybe the OP can ask a couple of the locals that are hanging out just past security for a private tour of a plantation. I suspect he will get some volunteers. 🤔
  16. They are long gone. No place to sign up anymore. You could do something within your Roll Call. We had one individual host an event but there were no officers there. Just great people, food and beverages in one of the high end suites.
  17. I believe that you will have a very good chance. On our recent cruise, there was plenty of availability for Specialty Restaurants even though a few weeks before, there appeared to be none. In fact, there were good discounts being offered. I suspect the rapid price increases has been a factor in booking
  18. We had rain and wind while docked at FLL and Nassau on the Ascent last month. Same was true while heading to Nassau. There was never any closure from the bridge. We had access each time. However, on the Beyond, the window could not be opened while in port at FLL in sunny weather. Go figure. I guess it is the discretion of the captain.
  19. But if are walking around in Rome with a lanyard....
  20. For the first night, you will be "assigned" to a dining room and a suggested time. Just show up each night to whatever dining room and the time of your choosing. If you happen to have a preference after the first night or so, just mention it. We like to try the different dining venues even though all the dishes are available in each MDR. It truly was Anytime Dining. (I had made reservations but was told on board that it was Anytime)
  21. Last time we were in Falmouth, I was surprised how few people left the ship. We walked around the marketplace and it was relatively empty. Then when I got near the gate, I noted armed security and many locals waiting to say hi to cruisers. I do agree that it Is a beautiful country and have enjoyed going to Dunn River Falls and a botanical garden. I have nice memories of those excursions. Another memory were dolphins following along the ship as it left the harbor.
  22. We did an escorted cruise and boy, was it ever bizarre. People jumped in front of our bus and the bus driver played "chicken" with them. Driver said he would never stop. Then there were the motorcycle gangs. OMG. I would never leave the compound unless being driven by an experienced local driver.
  23. We received cardholders in our room. Never use a lanyard...
  24. Is there a laundromat on Celebrity? Why can't I log in to my Celebrity account? When is FORMAL night?
