From what I've been able to tell while following all these Covid-related developments is that passengers using US-based TAs, such as myself and AllisonJames, have fared MUCH better than our British brethren.

I observed a man paying for himself and his wife specifically ask to have the 18% removed, and Spa staff did so without hesitation.

But the spa adds on an 18% gratuity. Don’t they get that?
yes, of course. But if the client overrides the tip (which is an option), she gets nothing.

DW spoke with her therapist when we were last on Quest (seems like decades ago!), who told her the ONLY money the masseuse gets is the tips.

Thank you. No we were not given anything except a letter verifying the dates of my isolation for the CDC.
Am I correct that you and your spouse were separated for the quarantine?

And some in their rooms when the deck 4 cabins were full
The cabins on 4, they have a porthole or a full window? And is it correct that one is quarantined alone, not with one's spouse?

Thanks. We will hope the best
From one who was on the last Quest cruise before the world fell apart in March of 2020, I highly recommend you reconsider your decision not to bring at least one laptop.

It has been extended to bookings made by Jan.31/22.
I don't see the guarantee of care anywhere at this link. Can someone direct me to the statement?

I'm not aware of retired military or veteran's gatherings, but I don't qualify so perhaps I haven't been sufficiently attentive. If they are held, they definitely aren't prominent.

but the verandahs are VINOs .
Sorry to be old and dense--what's a VINO? I don't think it has anything to do with wine🍷🤪

Although you haven't asked, a tip I offer when travelling to Japan is for you to ensure you have cash on you when you land.
Why must you have it on you when you land? I always go straight to an ATM when I land and get local currency. Will that approach not work in Tokyo?

Still having trouble here. Does anyone have a phone number? Emails don't seem to be jarring the door open.

Hi Laurie!!
Are you onboard now?
If so, was the spa open for treatments, e.g., massages🤩, on the turnaround day? Did they have any activities for those stuck on the ship?
We're scheduled for our first B2B cruises in April around Italy and down the Adriatic. Hope restrictions have eased by then.
-
Any update on what the situation in Italy is regarding private excursions?

Dover sole has not been on the menu for a few years now.
Correct. But as you also said, you can always ask. We each requested it when we boarded Quest for our abbreviated cruise in February of 2020 and had it 2 nights later.

Not Hank, but we have spent a few nights before a cruise near the beautiful hill top town of Orvieto, another time in Viterbo where we visited the lovely old town and the beautiful Villa Lante, and Villa Farnese.
How did you get from FCO to Orvieto and then Orvieto to the ship? Taxi? We'll have too much luggage for a bus

If you look at the deck plan, those with triangles are with tubs
So for N1 suites the even numbers between 8036-8054 have tubs, N2 suites it is odd numbers between 8059-8073 have tubs
Shower only N1 odd numbers between 8039-8057 and N2 event numbers between 8056-8070
Not to be dense, but just making sure I completely understand: CC suites on deck 7 of Pursuit will have shower only, correct?
-
Yeah, the menus in the specialty restaurants do not change. I think you may run out of things to order and get bored before the cruise is over.

Am I missing something here?
Looks like this is from a blog that's well over a year old. I suspect the author has never been on an Azamara ship, at least not one I've sailed on! 🙄

Yes
I think he was asking which one it was. So was it (a) for a Celebrity cruise or (b) for an Azamara cruise?

Disney has now opened Alaska cruises for 2022, and other destinations as well.

We spend most of our OBC at the spa, exclusively on sea days. As soon as we get on board we head straight there, and we have never had a problem getting the times we want.
How to pay Azamara???
in Azamara

Absolutely. I was not differing with your posting; I was trying to point out that AllisonJames' advice might not be the best for non-Americans.
