  1. Blazer would be good for non formal nights. Formal dress which is dark suit or tux is optional, but dining options would be narrowed for you.

Sorry, but that's not what the official dress code says, and it's not what people wear. I wore exactly what the OP said, nice pants (khakis), blue blazer, long-sleeve button shirt, no tie, on formal night and lots of other men were dressed the same in both the Keller Grill and The Restaurant.

  2. Do you or anyone know if I have to change all my FF accounts to my full name so that it matches?

Probably. I am a Jr. My passport has the Jr. as part of my surname, but my Global Entry card does not. That wasn't a problem until recently, but for some reason it has become an issue and I've been denied TSA Pre the last couple of times. I am in the process of GE renewal, and I've specifically asked that they make my name on the renewal card the same as on my passport. And, yes, the information that the airline has must match the GE name. Long answer, but I think you need to add your (hated) middle name.

  3. Thanks, I'm sure we'll be fine. Of course it's a cool weather cruise, so we won't be wearing *precisely* what we wear on the PG, lol. But point taken. I also understand there is a casual restaurant if you want to avoid formal night entirely. David bought a suit thirteen years ago for a cruise, our last with a formal night, and since then he's only ever worn it for weddings and funerals. He outgrew his last, beautiful sports jacket some time ago.

yes, you can avoid it altogether, and it's a very good alternative. in fact, we're eating there this evening

  4. Well as a neophyte Seabourn customers, with my first journey booked for next year, I guess I'm just not in on the joke about the jackets.

Wendy and Dave, we're on our first Seabourn cruise and went through our first formal night last night. You will be fine wearing what you wear on the PG except Dave will need a sport coat for that one night. Lots of men w/o ties (including me) and women in "Chicos wear."

  5. I had booked Prestige Cabs for a tour they called Medieval Malta (€108 for 4 hrs good value IMO) and met the driver Guido just outside the dock. He took us to Mosta Dome, Mdina, Dingli Cliffs and Blue Grotto. It was fabulous.

Wonderful suggestion, thanks. We've just booked the same tour.:D

  6. Before dinner as well as after dinner the Observation Bar had a pianist and a singer to entertain you. This made for a very agreeable scene given that the Observation Bar is large with seating at the bar and at numerous tables, some with sofas, and has those magnificent forward sea views.

    Happy and healthy sailing!

Thank you. We are not interested in after dinner; we are early to bed people for late diners. But where to go for pre-dinner cocktails is a priority, and you answered that question perfectly.

  7. average age was over 80 (we are early 60's) to be honest and with apologies to any Saga cruisers, it was like cruising in a care home!

Sounds like our only cruise on Oceania.

  8. Can anyone on the Odyssey confirm that the TK Grill is open? I managed to make a reservation on-line for my wife and me on our September 23 cruise. I'm still interested if anyone has a menu he or she could post.

  9.

It's possible I won the million dollar bad luck lottery with these cruises but considering how much better Ive found things on Seabourn (and even Regent) I don't see the point in shelling out nearly the same or more money for something that's proven itself to be a vastly inferior product.

    YMMV

I could not agree more. We were on Oceania once and, unless I win the lottery, never again. Contrary to an earlier posting, Azamara is a much better alternative. We will be on Seabourn for the first time this fall, and I hope it is as good as, or better than, Azamara. I know it can't be any worse than Oceania.
