  1. Occupancy is determined by the number of persons the lifeboats can accommodate.

In other words, some cabins might sleep up to 4 people but that is "capacity controlled" and the total number of persons on the ship cannot exceed the lifeboat capacity.

  2. I have heard and read that they are building a new water park at HMC, anyone know if it is open or when it plans to be open? is there a cost?

RCCL is building one on Coco Cay, aka Little Stirup Cay. Perhaps this is of what you've heard.

You have your cruise lines & private islands mixed up. RCCL is updating Coco Cay as above poster stated.

Uncle Google could have straightened you out.

  3. I'm thinking of carrying on something larger next time though, so what do you all do with your carry-ons til you're "allowed" to go to the cabin? I don't want to lug everything around.

You lug them around until about 1:30 PM when they open access to cabins.

  4.

But' date=' our cruise is not until 3 months, and life being what it is, my wife could get pregnant by then (we're not trying, but, well....)

So, if we did get Cheers now, and she were to become pregnant before the cruise, would we be able to get our money back? I've looked for the policy on their website, but couldn't find it. Can someone point it out?

Unless Carnival has changed their policy, both occupants of a cabin must buy Cheers, so if you need to cancel her, you will both have to cancel.

  5. I know this doesn't help now, but I would have invoked Carnival's guarantee in a heartbeat - get off at the 1st stop, they refund you and fly you back for free.

Having done 2 1/2 days without my suitcase in Scotland last fall due to Aer Lingus being inept in both losing my bag and their lame , hap hazard process to find it, I won't go thru that again.

Always buy travel insurance, always invoke your guarantees. Insurance will reimburse you even without receipts to prove every piece you bought - you just have to be firm with them.

  6. Price reductions are not the only important way to discount a cabin. Price can stay the same but freebies get thrown in like free gratuities or specialty dining... new bookings only. I doubt Carnival would match any of that stuff for existing bookings.

You must be thinking of another cruise line, Carnival never includes the perks you are referring to.

  7. People not letting you get off the elevator or stopping to talk right in the middle of the main walkway is my pet peeve. I hate it! WHY are you standing where everyone is trying to walk????

People being clueless or indifferent is one thing, treating everyone else as if they were dirt is quite a different thing.
