  1. I am thinking about walking to port. I am a bit mobility impaired but willing to get some exercise, and as my luggage is not overly burdensome thought I'd try it. Are there any places to sit along the way where i might be able to just sit for bit if I found it too daunting?
  2. I have sailed twice on "O" in AFT cabin 6090 with it's 180 degree view. It was wonderful. Out of 24 sailing days in June we had 3 days rain. The rest were absolutely beautiful, we wore shorts. That's not to say it will be cold. One never knows. I am going on my third Alaska on "O" in May, and yes, I am in the same AFT cabin. I do anticipate much colder weather this time around but will be prepared. Living in New England we do 4 beautiful seasons and have the clothing for all. I don't melt in the rain.
  3. Our sailing originates in LA and ends in Vancouver. We do inside passage upon return to Vancouver. Are you on the May 18-30th, 2023 sailing? We have a roll call (very quiet but we have one)
  4. Stated they took the tour with ten people ans had the excursion of a lifetime
  5. I read on another post that tickets are available onsite and are same price as ship. Of course the ship may charge you extra for a "walking tour". Don't fall for it. we arrive there 3 days after you and I plan on buying onsite.
  6. welcome, I am on your sailing. Check us out on Roll Call, not very active at all. In Juneau we are docked at Franklin 2 mile walk. for Ketchikan, we are in West Cove new docks. 7 miles from Ketchikan eek. I hope there is a shuttle.
  7. you don't see both sides of ship. You are correct about railings.
  8. Cancel your O shore excursion, go with company above. Look up on Trip advisor. They were much better than O trip. I believe on our tour we had a place with lockers. The guides carried tubes for those who were struggling. It is a fun tour. Get a waterproof case for your camera, they work well. Caves are dark but some light gets thru.
  9. Most likely. I am in 6090 on Regatta AFT. It is such a great balcony especially for Alaska. I just tune out any noise. Usually only entering or leaving a port
  10. I asked the Captain at dinner on Riviera could do this ...a resounding NO. However, on a cruise years before that we were allowed. When I told the Caotain that we had done this before he was very adamant about this could be done. I guess, up to each Master.
