  1. Truly hope you have seemless travel with them. I am comfort Plus with 2 free bags. Only checking one.. If perchance I have to check my carry on per their outrageous limitations and greed for excessive fee, I will be charged $110 and NO not able to have it checked as my second bag. It did happen to me.
  2. Trust me you will regret. I am traveling this Nov BOS-LIS. keeping my fingers crossed. It is not the plane, it is more the excessive baggage fees and stringent adherence to weight and size. Read the horror stories. As for me got hit up with an addition a very unexpected baggage fee of $410. I was very ill at the time and did not argue just wanted to get home. And yes, I followed the baggage rules. Most important to look out for is carry on and more important the size and weight of "personal" bag.
  3. On Regatta (with Luann), I too had a not so good experience with him. So, I just kept bugging him so much that we became "buddies". He loves the "I have been doing this for 25 years", so he was right no matter what. He never did process my request with corporate and fought me on everything.
  4. BEWARE TAP at all costs no matter how much of a deal it seems.
  5. I have been in red ginger on 2 occasions where they did not have any sea bass and cod was substituted and i found it very good. In fact, I preferred it over the sea bass when they did have it on other sailings. This stuff happens when impossible to get the real thing.
  6. I would much prefer my OBC that I can use for anything onboard not be forced to spend on excursions. Prefer a choice.
  7. Trust JAN she is in the know...there is NO CRUISE ON:Y
  8. In another thread Nashna has posted the outline of the new program. NO cruise only. You can opt for no air and take their credit (a mere pittance). I am wondering as how as I am a solo and have to pay 200% (most sailings) this will affect me as to pricing. I just purchased a future cruise certificate and am now debating my options..book in the next two weeks or possibly not book at all and get my deposit back. I have a feeling my O sailing days might be over after my next two I have booked.
  9. There are public restrooms in all the ports. Ward cove also has one.
  10. Sailing the inside passage on May 29th we did see smoke in the mountains, just in one area. Before we saw the smoke we could smell it and on a cruise ship one pauses to say do I smell smoke?
  11. THANK YOU for this info. Just called Medjet and they are issuing a $40 refund. I just love CC. Info on these boards have saved me a LOT od money over the years.
  12. Just returned from Regatta Alaska. I had a number of room service deliveries and tipped the servers. I brought an envelope with a lot of small bills ones and fives that I used for not only room service but for wheelchair folks at airport, baggage porters, shuttle drivers, etc. They work hard and really appreciate it, especially the O servers.
  13. I too do not like the cookies. On our recent Regatta the cookies were "sugar free", bland and too soft for me. I thought Barista's would be better but I was disappointed in them too. Years ago someone addressed the cookie issue to the Food/Bev manager who said he would pass it on to the cookie elves but I guess nothing has changed.
  14. Steamboat pics Post #2 show exactly what the pool area looks like. This whole post is VERY good with pictures of everything, bar menus, inside look at concierge cabin. Spa deck etc...
  15. While sitting at the bar in Martini’s one evening a gentleman seated at the bar asked that my husband stop talking. He said “it is not that you are loud, I just don’t like the timbre of your voice”. Hmm..okay
  16. I am on Regatta now sailing with two friends I have met on previous O cruises. We are all seasoned O cruisers and have sailed many times on the various ships. We are in total agreement that this has been some of the best food we have experienced in quite some time out of all our sailings. We each had different dishes in GDR and Specialties and were definitely impressed. Have only eaten one dinner Terrace, ok but being a bit mobility impaired prefer to be waited on. I used to always eat in Terrace but I agree with others that it has limited choices and is just so so. I have had room service breakfast almost every morning. It has arrived hot every time, sometimes missing some items. Would have like salt/pepper for my omelet but really didn’t need it for just a bagel and oatmeal. As for housekeeper, I have an angel that goes out of her way for me. Twice a day she brings me bags of ice for my knee that is not liking rough seas, brings my daily ration of Bai coconut water that I requested pre cruise and she is just a delight. So the food and service has been great, wish I could say the same about our weather.
  17. Thank you for a most definitive answer to my question about the T-pool. I think I will need it. Heading out at "o" dark thirty to LA.
  18. They were a little bigger than the hot tubs. I first noticed them on the cruise I met you. This was 2008 I think.
  19. These are hot tubs, doc says no for me. That's why my interest in Thalassotherapy pool which is warm/cool sea water.
