  1. It's scheduled to be Brooklyn.
  2. But note....you have to be in the same cabin. I was going to book 2 cabins...one for me and one for DH....and I was told if one of us tests positive, the other one would not get the refund/FCC.
  3. I downloaded it when I was afraid my 6/5 NCL cruise to Bermuda was going to be diverted north (there was a storm).
  4. @nwcruiselover And since we're on the topic....I assume you need the Hub app on each device and log on thru the app. Is that correct?
  5. Thanks....it helps a lot. DH just wants to be able to read HIS newspaper while I'm in the casino. That's all he does on the internet.....no e-mail, no streaming etc. And it sounds like I can do my e-mail and finances on my phone as long as he's not reading HIS newspapers!
  6. I purchased this option for me on an upcoming cruise. I know it's 24/7 for the duration of the cruise (and I'm aware that it could be slow). At that time I was planning on just using it on my Carnival Hub app on my phone. I just got a tablet (really for DH so he has something to do when I'm in the casino)....so, what I would like to know is if I can use it on the phone and tablet (not at the -exact time...but during the cruise)? In other words...using multiple devices logged into the same passenger? If not...can I use the Carnival Hub app on my phone and have the "Wi Fi Plan Option" on the tablet?
  7. We're platinum on Carnival and NCL; gold on MSC. We live in Manhattan, NYC...and only cruise out of NYC. Money isn't an issue..but value is! We are "buffet people" and nobody tops NCL. I call dining in any venue on a cruise ship "pretend pretentious". NCL also has excellent entertainment. MSC...I live on the pizza. The rest of the food...meh. The entertainment is great and I love the international flavor. And the ships are gorgeous! Carnival is strictly for convenience and value. Food...except for the cakes in the lunchtime buffet I never found anything to "put on weight" over. Entertainment also leaves a lot to be desired. I care about "the value" because the better value I get on the cruise.....the more I'll waste in the casino and buying overpriced jewelry. With all the above being said, like @KmomChicagoI'd like to know why I should spend a lot more for "the same product".
  8. I've gone on 3 post-pandemic NCL cruises out of the Manhattan cruise terminal. The first 2 were to the Bahamas and embarkation was a breeze. Number 3 was to Bermuda and embarkation was a long and tedious process, I'd say the issue was "the destination" and not the ship or cruise line. There was that "extra step" that slowed the line down. I'm hoping my 7day Magic to Canada in Sept won't have children or college aged people.....hopefully it will a ship full of seniors.
  9. OK...I know this is a stupid question, but do you get a physical gift card that you bring with you? Or is it OBC in your account?
  10. And in addition....I assume it's a one time $40....NOT $40 per $100. Am I correct?
  11. Agree.... I've found that the best way to handle things if you want a change (with refundable deposit) is cancel and rebook. There are times when I see prices/cabins available on the website but the representative gives me a different but higher price or can't find the cabin. The integration of the website/representatives is awful. There is a reason why many TAs don't deal with MSC. ETA...a "cruise concierge" keeps calling me and leaves messages. If I have an issue with "next and third" booking for the same cruise I'll let him try to sort things out.
  12. Why will you lose the deposit? Is it after final payment? I did this once before (same cruise) and got the deposit back in about a month. I'm doing it again (change of cabin and change of promotion).
  13. Can't you cancel the Dec cruise and rebook? That's what I'm doing for an Apr cruise. Dealing with MSC is an experience.
  14. It took about a month for my refund to show up.
  15. I know it's a stupid question....but what does it mean I can change? Cabins on my sailing, switch to another sailing, add someone....this statement is open to interpretation!
  16. I ask here only because I don't have confidence in the MSC reps! If I book a cruise with the "Free Drinks and Wifi" promo: The tips per drink are included with the daily service fee (unlike NCL where there's an additional charge for "free drinks" per day) The wifi would allow me and my husband to each have 24/7 wifi on our phones....... This is how I interpret it....this is what the rep confirmed....but, I'm looking for a catch....lol.
  17. So, I am a native speaker of English....but I think there may be a communications problem. I want to book a cruise for April 2023. I asked the first rep...."until when is the deposit refundable?". She said I have 89 days after booking the cruise.....so I could get my depost back until June 2022 for April 2023. I repeated this many times...and she said that's their policy. Called back: Rep #2 said something like 90 days before sailing....so April 2023 cruise would be refundable until some point in Jan. Sounds better. Then I ask the price of the cruise........I get about $2000 on the website. She tells me $2500 because it's more expensive when they book it. And yes, she had my membership number. Could someone please clarify the "deposit issue" and the high cost to book thru on of their agents?
