  1. I always use the full name. I think it’s clearer. “B” can be misheard as “D”, etc.
  2. Not sure about EZ air, but we have the air Canada app for when we fly them and can pick our seats if necessary at no charge at the 24 hour check in window. Should also be able to do this through their website with your booking number.
  3. I just go through a mock booking and count. Obviously I have too much time on my hands.
  4. Yes, sadly it happened right here in Vancouver some years ago. It was a cruise ship.
  5. We paid $48 for an Uber last April from a SNA hotel if that helps.
  6. I never wonder this, but sadly the execs did a few years ago when they decided to add staterooms to the wonderful open space on the Observation decks of the Vistas.
  7. Dining reservations in the App. Works really well for us. While I do miss fixed dining, we have basically been able to recreate it for ourselves by making reservations every day at the same time before the cruise. We still enjoy great service at the same table this way.
  8. I feel your pain. Just as we hit platinum they took away the free internet minutes. Now we’re are almost Elite and this will be gone. We don’t drink pop and I can get free water from the dispenser in the bathroom. I’d like a nice OBC or a Crown Grill dinner in lieu, but not hopeful. Feel like we are chasing a moving target here.
  9. Sorry it worked out this way for you. What you can try is if a better category is available for less than or equal to what you paid, you can try to be moved into it. This worked a couple of times for us a few years ago. Or they may give you OBC. It is worth a try. They can only say no. Really though, this is always the chance you take, whether airfare or cruises. We always watch prices and book ahead if we feel it is a good price, has good OBC, etc. Often now since we are retired though, we wait until after final payment particularly on less popular itineraries as we are flexible and always have points/miles for flights if needed.
  10. The pizzas ARE amazing! They are sort of between personal size and shareable. We usually get the antipasto, a salad and then share the pizza, but DH has also had one all to himself.
  11. I’m sure it happens. Not an option for me though. Would feel too guilty to enjoy it. The espresso cups at IC are pretty cute too.
  12. I love that cup! I think that is the cappuccino cup though. I only got it when I ordered cappuccino after dinner, otherwise for lattes I got the glass one. I asked if I could buy one last year and it was a no. I would pay good money for that rather than the crappy souvenir mugs they sell.
  13. This is what I do on Princess. I hold the cabin at no charge, email my CVP and she calls me in Monday and does the change (if possible). I have done this even if a better cabin comes available in my booked category so I don’t miss out.
  14. This is what she is showing (sorry it’s not clearer):
  15. I think that may be when on person in the cabin has Covid, they will offer the other person another cabin to be away from the sick person. They are then still allowed to roam the ship freely. I also think that people travelling together or as part of a group often have cabins in the same area, spread it among themselves and that may be why so many tables appear in the same area.
  16. We took Uber to Pearl Harbor in January and it was $22 usd including tip, so that is a good option if you’re comfortable using Uber. We were planning to take the bus back, but it was supposed to take almost an hour, so we ubered back too.
  17. Our CVP posted on her page that they are bookable Feb 28th for Elites and March 1 for everyone else.
  18. Exactly! This is “one” of the reasons we don’t go to all inclusive resorts!
  19. And a cute new carry on! Too bad it’s not allowed. We should all ask for the tea kettles that they supply on the Ex UK ans Australia cruises, bring a French press and we’re good to go. Not that I would actually pack a French press. Maybe sbucks via.
  20. Sounds like a great day in Maui! What a great idea to rent bikes! We have never thought of that and DH especially loves riding. (He has the spandex, lol). I guess because we are used to land vacations on Maui with a car, we just automatically thought to Uber somewhere or rent a car when in a cruise. Next time we cruise to Hawaii, I’ll suggest that to him and he’ll be thrilled!
  21. Milk should be available, but on our Hawaii cruise last month they ran out of milk (among other things) 4 days before the end. They started serving powdered milk, then a concoction of almond, water, etc. I would bring some on in your last port just in case.
  22. We sailed out of SF in January and it was one of our smoothest embarkations ever. We were on the ship in about 10 minutes. We arrived around 10:45
  23. While I am also really disappointed in this, I am not at all surprised. I noticed on our last few cruises (once the beverage packages became so popular), the IC staff often didn’t “deduct” our coffees if they were too busy, got to know us, etc. On one cruise after 11 days I asked how many coffees I had left and he had to get someone else to go in and check and they told me I had 12 left! Umm, I don’t think so since I’ve been having a latte every day! They just laughed and said don’t worry about it, so I didn’t. I think on their end it didn’t show the difference between a beverage package and coffee card, so they often didn’t bother to enter it. I don’t think the 2 different systems were very compatible. Coffee is VERY important to us, lol and the card and being able to have decent coffee at a reasonable price was one of the reasons Princess was our preference in recent years.
  24. On the Royal in January we were tendered and on shore before 9am. We walked up Front street a couple of blocks to catch the Uber as there is always so much congestion near the tender pier. We rented beach loungers from the Kaanapali Beach Hotel ($75) which were good for all day, and included water, etc. We could also use their washroom to clean up. Had a nice lunch at their restaurant HuiHui. After that we ubered back to Lahaina and DH took the tender back, while I looked around the stores. By the time I was tendering back at 3:00 the line up and wait was huge! Apparently they had had to take a tender out of service for a bit as someone threw up on it, so stuff happens. DH had little wait at 1:30 though. My point is that returning earlier might be easier, but at the same time once we are back on the ship we never tender out again. Too much hassle. If it works for you cleaning up on shore would be better, but I get that’s it’s difficult with compression hose. Im really enjoying your trip report by the way!
