  1. If I live in Stockholm and are bumped at Arlanda, won't I sleep at home? Many people fly from their hometown so they won't need a hotel. People in transit do.
  2. We ate there three times most days. Breakfast and lunch was okay but it always too windy to go outside for dinner!
  3. We thought that it was a hassle. There is no good way to walk there inside and most of the time it was to windy to go outside.
  4. Then it's even more important for the airlines to get rid of the passengers in transit as soon as possible.
  5. I agree with this. In many cases it doesn't make economic sense but I'm sure that it sometimes does.
  6. If the airline is to blame for the delay aren't they responsible for the passengers? A few nights at a hotel on or close to the airport cost a lot. I don't say that it's always better for the airlines but maybe sometimes.
  7. I should not be happy if I got bumped because someone else had a flight problem! Another possible question to ask is how will I feel if I have a flight problem and can't get on a flight for a few days?
  8. Depending on the reason for the delay the passengers in transit can be a bigger problem for the airline, I think. I know that the airlines have to pay bumped passengers but there is also cost involved when passengers in transit are delayed. Some of the costs will probably be paid by someones travelinsurence but won't the insurence company get money from the airline if the airline is responsible for the delay? I don't try to argue that they will bump other passengers, I have already been told no. But maybe it should be better for the airlines if they did?
  9. I don't know your exact date but when I look at Grandiosa in November the arrival time in Genoa is listad as 10. I know they may be earlier than that but don't expect to be able to make a 10am train but maybe close.
  10. Isn't it better for the airlines to get rid of the passengers as soon as possible when they are in transit? I know that bumping passengers cost too but won't it be worse for the airline to have lots of passengers trapped in transit? I understand that it may depend on the reason for the delay. Since you are an expert, at least compared to most, do you know why that isn't a part of the "overbooking system"? Are too few flights delayed for that? I guess that I have been lucky to get on the next flight every time.
  11. I really don't understand why anyone would disagree. If there are no guarantees that it can be done on the ship, why not do it as soon as possible?
  12. So sometimes it's not possible to do it and then it's best to do it as soon as possible.
  13. Is it always possible to switch from fixed to MTD onboard? Can they say no if too many want MTD? Do you know?
  14. That should have been very bad weather! Probably not recommended for any cruiseship!
  15. Where will you cruise? The weather can be very bad with high waves. I have "cruised" on the Baltic sea every time of the year and the weather can be great but also very bad in October. Estonia sunk in September during bad weather. (Estonia was a rather small ferry which sunk 1994 and most likely it was not only because of bad weather. Modern ships are better.)
  16. You are correct that it may not be the next flight but they may rebook to a fully booked flight. Many flights are overbooked and I assume that delays is a part of that "system". I have been rebooked a few times when my first flight has been delayed and I have always been rebooked on the next flight even on busy days. But you are correct that there are no guarantees that it will be the next flight.
  17. Maybe it's because of the pandemic? We were booked on a cruise last year but changed it for this year. It's now changed to next year because we won't cruise until we feel that there is no risk that we will have to wear masks on the ship.
  18. I'm very glad to hear that. It may mean that it will be easier to find available YC cabins when people can't book and later cancel if they change their mind. Thank you MSC!
  19. I think that often the fresh items is the main reason for food tasting different at different places so the food defenitely doesn't taste the same on all ships.
  20. Are you 100% sure about this? I don't say that you are wrong but it feels very strange that it's the same supplier for a ship sailing in the Caribbean and in the Mediterranean for example.
  21. They are not free, they are included in the cost for the cruise.
  22. She's not a good TA if she say that nothing is included when everything is included! You may like her but that is very unprofessional!
  23. But officially I think that the benefits you have you shall keep.
