  1. I hate the survey begging more than the sales pitch. With everyone giving tens across the board it is no wonder why changes that we complain about continue.
  2. The OBC is from opening the credit card which I will use to pay for the cruise in order to qualify for the $1000 spent in the first 90 days. Does a $300 OBC post as a credit to my card or is it loaded to my Folio with Celebrity?
  3. There are only 50 pieces worldwide and yet they are willing to let it go for 40% off. That just speaks volumes.
  4. It's a marketing suggestion. Celebrity seems to be hungry.
  5. It's only worth it if it is less than it would have been had you booked that category in the first place. Had you not priced it out at that time you can't tell.
  6. Here is a double money making opportunity. I can see the ship photographers snapping a picture of Captain Kate as she fastens every bracelet and every necklace on the passengers who purchase a piece from her collection. When is the perfume and handbag release date?
  7. That only applies to cruise line customer service reps. Cruise Critic members don't play that game.
  8. How much would you save if you won the bid vs booking a Sky Suite to begin with? If you are losing the drink package that's a big ticket item and you also don't get the higher loyalty points.
  9. A refundable deposit is important to me when book far out. I have actually canceled and switched to another cruise line for a more attractive deal on a similar itinerary as we got closer to sailing right before final payment.
  10. I don’t wear either and don’t attend those shopping events on board either. I’m done with the snake oil sales pitch no matter who’s mouth it comes out of.
  11. Honestly if this hadn’t been posted I wouldn’t even know about any captain having a side hustle. So the question is, why weren’t we informed about the men prior to this thread? Seems sexist to me.
  12. I just received the Celebrity credit card and will have $300 OBC. How much is it usually to upgrade on board. We are sailing on a 4 night cruise. I'm trying to figure out if it's better to upgrade or just pay the price difference.
  13. I feel the same way when I see Celebrity Chefs like Wolfgang Puck promoting appliances and cookware on Informercials that find their way to the shelves of Walmart only to end up as landfill.
  14. I believe you're right as they are already on the payroll.
  15. Celebrity better be careful. Princess might poach her to model accessories for their Medallion.
  16. Joan's celebrity status, no pun intended sold all of those Bee pins. However, I don't think Captain Kate is all that popular among the masses other than Celebrity cruisers..
  17. QVC and HSN are the epitome for mass market costume jewelry.
  18. I book a cruse on June 11. It didn't show up in my planner until June 18 or 19.
  19. Next we will be seeing her on QVC or HSN.
  20. You are assigned a club number on every cruise line you sail on from your first sailing whether you join or not. Our kids have numbers too that they now use on their own bookings. My wife didn't sign up for any of the 3 lines we sail but I saved the Loyalty number that was assigned to her sea pass for all of the lines. I just type it in when I make the booking. She has the same status as I do.
  21. All that plus navigating the cruise lines deceptive pricing and promotions. First I play on the Celebrity website to find the best deal. This means looking at every category from inside which I would never book, up to sky suite. To my surprise It would have cost me $100 more booking an interior for $199 than the C1 I actually booked all things equal with AI,Tips and insurance. It seems the higher up I went the more discounts and credits applied. For some reason it wouldn't offer me the NRD rate for the interior if I booked it AI. It was only $28 dollars more to go from a premium Veranda to a premium Concierge all things equal. Next I went to all of the website TA's and my Big Box store TA and my Auto Club TA. Non of them would let me choose a room. Only Guarantee bookings. I was 30 days out from final payment when I booked this. No real incentives worth booking with them either. So Celebrity won out for this booking offering me the best choice. Also I forgot to mention that the higher up I went in category the AI price dropped.
  22. They are all doing AI now with Princess being the last to follow. Some times they come in at a lower price if they are offering a better AI than Celebrity. We switched to Celebrity when they started that 123 Go promotion. That was the best deal at the time.
  23. I would rather sail more times in a lower category standard veranda or C1 on S class ships than sail in a suit on the Edge Class just for a real balcony.
  24. The discounts along the way. example Elite Plus 15% off specialty dining 15% off spa treatments 35% off of WiFi package 20% off drink package and 15% off of upgrading the drink package I book all inclusive so drink package discounts and WiFi are a moot point. Don't do Spa treatments and you can usually get a larger discount on board for specialty dining if they are trying to fill the rooms not to mention all of the discounts they offer you after you book. I live in Florida so even a free 7 day Caribbean cruise doesn't compel me to be loyal and chase points. I don't even like the Edge Class ships with the roll down window balconies so the Retreat isn't an incentive.
  25. We recently moved to Florida and my first trip as a resident is a 4 night cruise which I would have never considered in the past having to fly to port. We are calling on Key West and Bimini which we have never been to in 30 yrs of cruising in the Caribbean. There is a market for these short cruises in Florida.
