Will you please let me know what you did and saw?  We like to hire drivers and go on our own. We are going there in 2024 for one day with the cruise line.

    Thanks, Paula

This year will be our first visit to Zadar and we are doing a tour the the Krka Waterfalls. also going to be there next year not sure what we will do then. I would like to do Plitvice National Park if I can find a tour that will fit in our time frame.

We will be in Split from 9AM to 9 PM next month.  I definitely want to visit Diocletian's Palace.  I'm also interested in Krka National Park.  The cruiseline offers a 5 hour excursion to Krka which leaves at either 10AM or 2PM.  I believe we have plenty of time to do both the palace and Krka.  I'm wondering if it makes more sense to do the palace in the morning and take the 2PM excursion to Krka. Or, go to Krka at 10 AM and then go to the palace when we return.  Also, I was looking for hours for the palace and it appears to be open 24 hours.  Are there parts (eg the cellar) that are not open 24 hours? If there are museums that we should see that will close at 5, then I would opt for the 2PM excursion.   I'm open to suggestions if there are other things we should be doing in Split.

We love the Krka waterfalls. We did a longer tour which included a boat ride and lunch. I would go there first, then you can do palace and walk around the area.

I have not been on royal Caribbean but I have done many Celebrity. Four adults in one balcony cabin for me would be a little squishy, they are just under 200 ft.². One thing you might want to think about is getting a family veranda cabin they actually have two bedrooms. One large bedroom with a king size bed A smaller bedroom with two bunkbeds and a pull out couch it is very large has a dining room and a large balcony as well and they are cheaper and larger then suites. I have stayed in them they are fantastic!

Good news, unless you are talking suites, the overhead lockers remain in the cabins after the revolution. In fact, excluding suites, everything remains except for the "soft" furnishings and general colour scheme. No new electrics, no usb points, no power by the beds, no shower cubicles. New mattresses (very comfy).

Perhaps you should give your DH the choice of: storing things under the bed or in the overhead lockers and see which he prefers.

So happy they kept overhead storage.

  5. We were on Eclipse last September, we just loved her. I was happy she hadn’t been revolutionized yet. We recently sailed on Crown Princess and definitely didn’t like the way the ship was set up. No really good public spaces and a lot of dead ends. You will love the Sky Lounge and Solarium pool area.we find her to be a beautiful ship . Enjoy!

  6. Dubrovnik is one of our favorite ports. It is easy to do on your own unless you prefer to take a tour. You can walk the the wall and stroll thru the town, no need for tour. Another favorite activity we like is to go to the Buza Bar on the outside of the wall . It is terraced on a cliff with spectacular views especially at sunset. You can also take a boat to Cavtat and enjoy lunch at one of the oceanfront cafes.  Rick Steve’s Dubrovnik guide also has a lot of information . We hope you enjoy!
