  1. Which allows you the choice to cruise (or not cruise) with them as you wish on those ships and itineraries that fit your expectations the best.
  2. I was just going to comment similarly. If you look at the fare base the shorter 3 and 4 night Utopia cruises are proportionately higher an a per day basis than longer cruises. What amplifies this is the fact that this is their newest ship.
  3. RCCL and Celebrity have a reciprocity program regarding Crown & Anchor and Captain's Club loyalty tier benefits. As Diamond on RCCL when you sail on Celebrity you will be able to receive their Elite level loyalty benefits. Celebrity does not offer drink coupons as RCCL does, but they do have a happy hour between 5-7 commencing on day 2 that will provide complimentary cocktails. You should contact Captain's Club @ 800-760-0654 to have them set up an account for you. As noted your reciprocal level will be Elite. Note that when you sail on either line the points earned with each sailing remain with the cruise line on which they were earned and are not combinable. Here is a PDF describing the Celebrity Captain's Club program and tier level benefits for your review. Enjoy Celebrity - they are a vey good line that provides a very enjoyable cruise experience. 4. It kind of drifted away when formal nights became an unenforced suggestion.
  5. This is RCCL's experiment with maximizing CocoCay's shorter itineraries and providing the Oasis class experience for those cruisers looking for this with shorter cruises. It certainly wouldn't be for everyone, but then again, neither are shorter cruises. Just a way to continue to offer more variety to help maintain the existing loyal base while attracting new customers looking for this type of experience.
  6. It is generally the same with all RCCL ships. 10:30 typically is the earliest check in time and 11:00 typically is the earliest boarding time. Check in times are available for selection and assignment with original boarding check in 45 days prior to sailing. If you don't have one I would just show up when you are ready based on the above times and they should accommodate you as check in times generally are not strictly enforced.
  7. Call Crown & Anchor Society @ 800-526-9723. They will arrange the necessary account numbers. Essentially works the same as Celebrity.
  8. Yes. Ask the room steward and he will unlock them and open them for you. It is just the outer part that opens.
  9. There is no way that I am aware of the track this information. And as others have said I don't think it is necessary. If there is any significant delay the cruise line would likely send an email to advise.
  10. If it were me I would not wait on an email response. I would just call them and talk with a live person to try to work it out in real time. Whenever I've had a question with C&A that is how I got it resolved. JMO
  11. Confused. Never had this happen. My wife and I each have our own C &C A number and when we cruise both are entered on the booking. They were set up together with our first cruise and are linked. Points are assigned to each account simultaneously.
  12. There are no special tricks required to make a GTY change. The program is simple. Once a GTY stateroom is assigned, if you want to switch to a different location, simply contact whomever you booked through and tell them you would like to have a different location assigned. They will check available inventory and make the change for you at no charge. The guidelines are that the move is based on current inventory availability at the time of your request and it will based on moving within the same sub-category as that stateroom originally assigned. They see your booking number and assigned stateroom when you make the request. Done it several times, most recently a few weeks ago on an upcoming cruise. Very simple and no smoke an mirrors.
  13. That isn't a high level? I wouldn't cycle through 1/10th of that in a lifetime in any casino game! Certainly a different perspective! But then again I'm not a gambler. Again, JMO.
  14. Not trying to state the obvious but that's because it isn't from the cruise line and not their money. It is from a third party who has their own terms and conditions associated with it. Not unlike third party OBC from a family member, or TA, etc. Carries different policies than cruise line issued OBC, which as the name states is their money.
  15. Funny. Ours was Hairspray - twice! Thought maybe the first time was just a bad night. Nope.
  16. Check in typically begins around 10:30 and boarding begins by 11:00. The check in times have not been strictly enforced in recent years and as I understand it suites typically are provided early check in and first boarding around 11:00.
  17. Then I would call Crown & Anchor to have them confirm their posting. The longest ours ever took to post was about 10 days, and usually within a week of the end of the cruise. If it is showing in your history it should also be posted in the point total by now. Just to be sure you have it the number is 800-526-9723.
  18. I get it. Just trying to help to make sure you know what to expect with Celebrity, which is a very good cruise line, BTW. Plus there have been updates with the programs recently to be aware of. Enjoy your cruise.
  19. As suggested, to be clear your reciprocity with benefits does not mean your RCCL tier benefits transfer to, or merge with, Celebrity's benefits sailing on them (or visa versa). It means that you share the benefits offered by your common tier level when sailing on Celebrity. And there are exceptions with each as to some benefits that are not shared. Also, your cruise points earned with each cruise remain separate with the cruise line on which you sailed and earned them. As posted by @canderson I would suggest reviewing the Celebrity Captain's Club benefits chart to familiarize yourself with what benefits your reciprocal tier level (in your case Elite Plus) will provide on board. And by the way you may want to refresh yourself on the RCCL Crown & Anchor D+ tier level benefits as your drink vouchers provide 5 drinks per day, not 4 as you mention. And they refresh at 5:00 AM each day, not midnight. I've attached that current information as a PDF. RCCL C&A Benefits.pdf
  20. While I agree it would not really be necessary, if you want you can also reach out to the Retreat team prior to your cruise at 1-877-RETREAT and discuss your request(s) with them. The Concierge on board will also be able to assist as well as the Luminae maître d, as others have suggested. Yours will not be a difficult request to address.
  21. Not sure if it is a different process in Rotterdam, but unless you sure of the time and prefer to preschedule, you could always request a pick up as you are disembarking and likely not have too long of a wait.
  22. Just a footnote to this I prefer to use the planner v the app. In my experience it has been easier and less faulty to use. We then use the app on board.
  23. Pier 2 and typically walk offs at first disembarkation - 7:00.
  24. Here is a link to a blog that may help answer some of your questions: https://www.cruiseswithfriends.com/blogs/ships/royal-caribbean-symphony-of-the-seas We always enjoy the ice shows and aqua theater shows. Having cruised for 32 years we skip most production shows as we've seen quite a few over the years, and while for the most part good, they're just not our cup of tea anymore. You will need to make your own judgement and I'm certain others will contradict me on this, but IMO Hairspray is our least favorite of the RCCL Broadway based shows. That being said, Symphony is one of our favorite Oasis class ships and, with the exception of Jamie's Italian, which is not among our favorites, we like all of the specialty restaurants on board and have enjoyed sailing on her. As you say, what I and others will say is subjective and, as mentioned, IMO you need to judge for yourself.
