I booked excursions through my cruise personalizer and was required to pay at the time of booking in order to keep the reservations. Payment for my excursions was by using OBC's that were in my name. Payment for my wife's excursions was by using OBC's in her name. Since fewer OBC's are in her name, there was not enough to pay in full for her excursions. The balance was paid by credit card.
Personally, I think this system is flawed for multiple reasons. If the occupants of a cabin are all using the same credit card to pay their folios, like a husband and wife normally do, then their combined OBC's should be used toward paying for all their combined excursions.
Only those OBC's that are shown in the cruise personalizer are used to offset the cost of excursions. Some passengers will have OBC's on the cruise that do not appear in their cruise personalizer and are not allowed to be used to pre-pay for excursions. Loyalty OBC of up to $100 is an example.
I booked on line today and booked the 1st one on line using the credit on both of us. The second you have to call and the agent can combine both to pay for the second! Bob

We booked 2 today for Alaska using my on-board credit . No problem on the first but had to call on the second since my wife was short and I had extra $. The agent took care of the second with no issue. I wish they did not give credit by person instead of cabin like other cruise lines !

How long should we plan to be at Mendenhall to walk out to the falls and back? Would an hour out and an hour back be a reasonable estimate?
We’ve been in the visitor center.

The walk is about 15 to 20 minutes each way !

Talked with I.T. today and said that it would be in full operation on Monday . R.C.C.L. sent a e-mail at the beginning of the week telling me about the change and the roll out would be in stages and would not change for everyone at once !

We are waiting to see Pic's and Video"s of the venue when agents tour the ship next month. We are sailing on it in Dec and have booked 5 of the 7 nights up already for Alt. dinning. They have adjusted $ a couple of times so they are probably testing it out ! Bob

We are from Vegas and there was a cleaners next to may office and would see him all the time picking his clothes and he was always in the mood to talk and say hello . Just about the last of the comics from the golden era 1

We are on the Symphony in Dec. and they only show times 4:00 to 5:30 and then after 9:00 . I was trying to figure it out but after reading these blogs I understand . We are going to pass since it is too early or too late. Also, the price looks a little too high for what it is. I am sure its not any different than home for us which runs us around $50 to $60 with tip. I can't see paying almost a $100 for that! Bob

I was on the Emerald 4 yrs. ago and at that time they did not have a Lotus Spa on the ship. My question is I notice on the map that they have both womens and mens saunas and steam rooms in the locker areas and a Thermal suite one dock lower. Are the steam and sauna a no charge and is the thermal suite a charge area. I have been on the Royal a few yeas ago and that area was called the " The Lotus Spa" which was a charge area ! Help me refresh my memory ! Bob

We did the the Stingray sailing with" Stingray Sailing " in Grand Cayman in Dec of 16 . It was one of the best excursions we have done. They only carry a Max of 12 to 15 people. You do not want to do the cattle call trips like off the ships . We saw a lot of overloaded boats out there. Our trip had 10 people which was like a private trip. They pick you up right at the ship and bring you back. Never had one issue with the during the whole time. They also take you to a reef to swim and also make a stop to look for starfish. They also have dinks and fruit during the trip. I have photos and videos if you want to see. There site is Stingraysailing.com Have fun ! Bob

Just did Hyatt Place for the 2nd time and works great for us and what the others say about the area is true. Lots of places the eat and shop last minute ! Bob

Just did it again in Dec. Mia to Fll was $ 45 plus tip w/ "Lyft . Fll to Mia following was $ 43 Plus tip. In Dec 17 Mia dock to airport was $13.50 plus tip w/ Lyft. It is 23 miles between the two and time depends on traffic! We have done this at least 10 times ! Cabs should be your last choice !

Not alot of size to the screen. Couldn't they pick a worse spot then that! Maybe they are only showing movies in the late afternoon. I can't believe that they would show movies in the evening with the Lawn Club serving dinner.

Did you get my photos?
-
Yes we did ! No problem and he was at the dock exactly where he told us. Not one problem during the day. Everything want like clock work ! Send me e-mail and i will send video 's of excursion ! Bob

I have been on this excursion twice now { Dec 2018} and they serve your choice of fish or chicken with your choice of 4 sides plus drinks on the Excellence! They are both great so you can't go wrong !
-
Did Spencer in Dec. and was worth every bit of the $. We did the island and beach tour which was great. You will love his power boats ! Have pics and movies of the trip ! Bob

Just did the Excellence for the second time in Dec and had another great time. It is the only type of Cat. that has three decks and is a power cat. You have to book through your ship since they lock up the excursion. The lobster cat tour does not do the whole island and is a standard cat. The lunch on the Excellence is your choice of fish or chicken which is cooked right on the bow of the boat while sitting on a very quiet beach. You cannot go wrong! Bob

Was on Emerald 4 yrs. ago and can not remember if they had a Gelato ice cream bar on the ship?
-
We did LYFT and it ran a $13.50 to $15.00 each way plus tip ! It took around 20 minutes depending on traffic at that time of day. We have done it 10 times and never had a problem!

We were on Reflection in Dec and had a Aqua class cabin. The best move we ever made. It was our 2nd time on Reflection and we really love the ship but this was our first time in Aqua class. Blu was the best of both worlds. We usually want around 7 every night and never had to wait more than 5 mins. I was a little concerned about the food but it was terrific . We ordered some things from the MDR which was not a problem . We are sold on Aqua and so will you once you try it. We were in Cabin 2106 which was right under the Solarium and never heard a sound the whole 10 days. Also, we were one floor below the Auqua Spa Cafe which was handy and also same deck as spa area so it was all around the best choice we made ! Have a good time ! Bob

I’m glad it was helpful! Alaska is so incredibly beautiful, and there are many wonderful excursions. Be sure to check out the Alaska boards, if you haven’t already done so.
We are on the Emerald and dock at 6 a.m. . Should we book the 7:30 or 8:30 tour. A little concern on getting off the ship in the morning. It looks like we have a few hrs in town when we get back ! Bob

Just got done reading your review of your trip. We pick-up a lot of helpful hints and will now do a lot of research. Thanks for taking to time and I know it will help make are trip in Aug better ! Bob & Donna

We found that the new card holder is useless. Why carry an added piece of nothing just to hold your card. The older style would contain your sea pass, CC, and ID along with cash.
Can you share the burger in the Grill? It looks rather large for one person, at least for us as it would be our total calorie intake for the day and not leave any calories for drinks.
It looks as if you have a large balcony. Seeing that is it really worth getting a alcove instead of sitting on and enjoying your balcony? I am asking because we have cabin 2106 (also AQ) booked and it has a large balcony on the slant with easy access to the bars and we can always get room service. We don’t want to be in the sun ( malanoma ) and don’t need to be where the “action” is or be seen.
I am enjoying your experience and confirms my choice of cruise and ship.
Thanks for answering my question
Happy cruising 🌊🛳🇺🇸🌅
We had 2106 and all we can say it was the best move we made. The location is perfect to the spa, Aqua cafe, Solarium and pool area. And to top it off we had the best cabin steward we have ever had ! The view is the best and this was the second time we had the cabin ! Have a great trip !
