So a few words of our stateroom

We all know INF is an older ship.

    That’s okay 👍🏻

She is well kept in maintenance.

But this stateroom I have on this sailing, are the most worn of all rooms I have sailed onboard.

-The fridge is not cold, the water inside is not hot, but definitely not cold. It’s air temperature.

-the coffee table are very visible rusty

    IMG_1322.thumb.jpeg.f7636a271daff57b213bb7069ca84426.jpeg

-it’s missing a cover up pice on the door holder.

    IMG_1323.thumb.jpeg.f3eea1f56ff5c338f42d9ac98206fa32.jpeg

-ac is on max cold and it’s good for me (but I know some fellow travellers would scream it’s to hot)

The cabin is clean and spotless. So nothing wrong from our housekeeper.

But change of the table would lifted the “old, rusty” to more “well kept”

Not good. Perhaps you need to bring some of these issues to management attention.

We have 5 cabins next year on her and I’m hoping they are not like this. Our Aqua room in March was very well maintained and I can’t remember any issues like you have posted, but we’re not in Aqua on our next cruise on Infinity 😬😕.

We will be on Millennium b2b from October 6-29 this year.  I have heard it is too early to enjoy the fall foliage in Japan, but October weather is supposed to be good 🤞  I can report back here on our weather experience when we return if you would like.

All of our guides said that October was a good month to visit Japan, either that or the springtime 👍.

Can we have pictures of the fake bags? Mr husband loved his BOSE leather wallet at approx $5 and I love my Yves Sain Laurent T shirt…I would sometimes wear it to see if anyone noticed the spelling…Good fun. However, we are not shoppers cannot imagine spending as long a time as Charlotte!

I imagine we’ll be spending the same sort of time shopping as Charlotte when we visit Kusadasi with the young ones in April on Infinity 🙈🤣.

Enjoying your review @Norwaylady. Sounds like the MDR isn’t as good as Blu was in March. Hoping it improves for you both and we get a better service next year 🤞🏻.

Can you explain then why Sky Princess in May and Regal Princess  in September were majority US cruisers?

Were they British Isles cruises? If so, most British people don’t want to cruise around Britain whereas our US friends do. However, I can say that our previous Scandinavian cruises on Princess from the U.K. have mainly been filled with British cruisers, especially in the school holiday season.

  6. I have never cruised on P&O, but some of our friends have and I think you will find a difference if sailing X. Firstly, we like the international mix on board Celebrity which you will obviously not find on P&O as it is a British brand of Carnival PLC sold over here. Additionally, we can usually tell those that have cruised previously on P&O as they tend to wear much more formal attire on Chic/formal evenings (I say this from experience on both Celebrity and Princess), so you are correct in thinking that it’s a little more relaxed on X (I’m talking long gowns here for clarification). Your wife will not have a problem in the MDR; I am also a very plain eater and the waiters are always very accommodating. The entertainment varies from production shows to entertainers brought on board - you will find the same entertainers appear on various lines as they hop on and off ships at ports along the cruise-lines’ itineraries.

Gratuities are a very contentious point. We leave on the auto-grats and give those we feel go over and above a little extra. You may find your OBC for booking covers some or all of your grats anyway. Drinks are expensive, but if you do not warrant a package then you will pay for fewer drinks at prices akin to most hotels - it’s swings and roundabouts.

Variety is the spice of life; just remember to go in with an open mind and do the research.

We are booked on a B2B2B beginning 10-28 from Rome to Barcelona. These were done in pieces. We are in sky suite other legs. We booked this because the price of the Sky Suite guarantee was $4500 pp. Ridiculous on the Constellation.  Regent is our go to but are Elite plus on Celebrity. I am beginning to worry about no room assignment. Concierge shows sold out. Does anyone have experience with this? We have not done this before. Will we be turned away at the port? Please help calm my nerves!

You will get assigned something. I imagine that this sailing (we are also on it) on Connie will be fit to bursting as many US cruisers will have tagged it on before the TA back to the States.

Thank you @villauk for your very useful info on Japan! We are on Millennium in a couple of weeks, flying to Hong Kong first ( cheaper than flying straight to Tokyo).

I usually sort out things to do, excursions etc and am currently stuck on Kyoto so your programme was a great help!
The other interesting point was about the wi fi. We usually book the included package but for some reason we didn’t. So I will investigate that further! It looks like the basic is the cheapest but not necessarily the best!

Have a wonderful time. I’m glad I was able to help in a small way. Definitely go for the Premium on the WiF, especially if you want to be able to use CC.

No, my cousin and her DH, who were booked with us on this cruise, had to cancel at the last minute due a cancer op. We decided to postpone Lucca and visit with them on another trip.

Our TA offered us instead a free tour to Lerici and one of the CT villages (can't remember which one now) and we "filled" the day....

My cousin is OK (she lives in Germany), and we're going (hopefully, due to the war here) on another cruise next Monday, but a whole different itinerary.

    Good luck !!

Sorry to hear about your cousin and good luck with the other cruise 🤞. I’m sure we’ll find our way to Lucca some how 😂.

Our Azamazing evening was Valencia and it was off the ship.  It was wonderful!  They buzzed us to the venue that was in the city center.  It was a combination of some cirque type acts along with a story.  One thing, they disembarked us for the busses by deck after the suites.  And deck 7 was first.

The only bad thing was it was November 1st, a Holy day, so nothing was opened in the town.  So we rode the shuttle downtown during the day, and found that out, so we rode it back to the ship.

Enjoy the cruise, it is a wonderful itinerary.

Thank you so much for those details. I’m pretty sure ours will be Valencia as our cruise starts in Barcelona. It’s all very exciting at the moment as it’s strange to be a ‘newbie’ 😂.

Thank you and @marazul for the useful advices.

I've tried searching the combo of LaSpezia+shuttle+train+station on Celebrity boards, and got "shuttle to the cruise terminal", public bus to the "train station" (be sure to buy tickets before boarding 😉) and walking time estimates between 20 and 25 mins....

I prefer to conserve "foot power" for meandering in Lucca, ideally will be a "willing" taxi to the train station....

It's a pity too that between 09.23 and 11.23 there are no "quick" trains to Lucca. The one at 10.23 would have been the best, allowing for the "unexpected" time of the shuttle, then walking or boarding a bus, and finally, buying a ticket. Sadly, the 10.23 and 11.23 arrive at the same time in Lucca.

    2 additional questions, please --

    1) Shall I buy a ticket train before hand?

    2) Is the ticket "dated and timed", or I can decide to return, for example, earlier or later?

    Thank you again, Dani

@dani negreanu May I ask if you did take the route from La Spezia to Lucca and, if so, how easy did you find the DIY option? Considering it on the first day of our overnight port stay next month.

There were 2 of us and it was about 12 Euros each way.

Where did you go on the train? We’re overnighting in La Spezia and would like to return to Lucca for a visit. Wondering if it’s pretty easy to do from La Spezia Centrale independently.

We were in 7091 on sister-ship Aza. Onward last month.  Faint machinery noise was sometimes evident in the hallway inboard of the cabin, but we did not notice it in the cabin.  Likewise, in late 2019 we were one deck lower, almost directly below those cabins on deck 6, when Onward was still sailing as Pacific Princess; we also noticed (at times) some dull noise in the hallway during that cruise, but not in the cabin.

Also, no issues with noise from cabins forward, aft, above or below, and no outboard obstructions.  7091 and 7088 are convenient to the stairwell & lifts, and to the laundry, while being far enough away for those not to be problematic at all.  Overall, those V2 cabins are a good choice, and we chose 7088 on Aza. Journey for a cruise in 2025.

Excellent. Thank you for the very detailed response; it’s very much appreciated.

I know the app will be up to date when I board.  But how close to sail date can I rely on dining times days/hours?

Because for my Jan ‘25 sailing on Millie I think we have sea days on day 4&5 but app shows Luminae open for lunch on different days that are port days.

I like to throw things on our shared calendar so my partner has a clue what to expect.

Don’t expect it to be correct, even when you are on board. I know ours wasn’t last month on Millie.

Having done the Spain Intensive (in the other direction, so ending in Barcelona) last year, our Azamazing Evening was held during the overnight stay in Seville.

Thanks. Did you enjoy the itinerary? We’ve cruised Spain many times but there are some new ports for us on this one. I think that’s one reason why my DH wants to try the smaller ships: different port stops from the standard cruise-line offerings.

I’ve messaged our TA to see if she can fathom out what it means!! if I find out I’ll report back, out of interest where on the X site would the flight price show? is it after you’ve priced up a cruise?

If you search for a cruise and then press ‘view the itinerary’, just under the individual cabin pricing are several icons. Press the ‘flight’ one and it will bring you to the ‘search for a flight’ section (see below). Go into that and input which airport you want. Flight options will come up there with pricing. I know that the reduced flights will show as our sailing next month was on a £49pp discounted flight and showed there when I originally booked the cruise. They only allocate so many seats though, I do know that. Once the allocation has been filled for that particular airport, then it will just give other flight options which are far more expensive. It’s also not available for every sailing.

Not sure if this is a typo in the X T and C’s or I’m reading it incorrectly, but it doesn’t make sense, it says X cruises in 2025 but departing January to December 2024!!

Has anyone based in the U.K. taken this up and can tell me if it’s really 2024 or 2025?

Reduced Flights to Europe applies to new individual bookings made from 03 September 2024 for selected Celebrity Cruises Europe 2025 sailings departing 02 January 2024 to 21 December 2024. Reduced Flights to Europe provide

Yes, I saw that at the weekend and presumed it was a typo. I did try and find a cruise with the £199 showing, but I was unsuccessful. It does state ‘selected’ cruises.

We did this in November 2019. AzaMazing Evening was in Valencia.

@wjfan417 Thank you for confirming; it will assist us when booking tours etc. Do you think the cabin location I have suggested above for the V2 cabins is a good area? Just want some reassurance really, it being our first time on Azamara. TIA.

We did this cruise last year departing Barcelona October 31.  It was wonderful!  The weather was perfect, the only issue that we had was Cartegena.  We missed that port due to the wind, the entrance to the port is narrow and the direction of the wind prevented us from getting in.  But we weren't the only ones.  There was a larger HAL ship in front of us and they couldn't get in either.  But Captain Johannes tried!!  But the rest of the cruise was wonderful!

Do you recall which evening was the Azamazing one? There a few ports where the ship doesn’t leave until 10pm and Seville is an overnight stop too.

Thank you for replying. It’s great to hear from someone that’s actually taken the cruise previously.
