  1. When a date is given for the posting of new itineraries, what time of day do they show up on the Princess site. We are elite status, so we know that we can see them one day earlier than non-elite passengers. Do they show up at midnight eastern time? Is it 7am pacific time? I think that if you do not have a specific cruise date or cabin type it probably makes no difference, but I you do have specifics in mind it could matter for a popular itinerary.
  2. We received an upgrade to a corner suite on the back on Regal. That was in the Caribbean in Dec 2021. Since it was always warm out, we were on the big deck constantly. We never had an issue with noise from above, smell or smoke from the engines. It was so much fun and I am sure it was a one time thing for us.
  3. After trying the octopus I confirmed why I had not indulged any time in my previous 77 years. But, I DID try it. No, there are not picky eater (I am guilty of that) substitutions. I did tell them about my nut allergy and they provided me with a different dessert. There is no shame in not cleaning up your plate - no matter what your granny always said. 😁 The thing is to immerse yourself in the "experience". Then, if you are still hungry, head upstairs.
  4. I agree that it was amazing and worth seeing. Since, at least for us, it is a one-time experience I have nothing negative to say about it. Was all the food something I would order? No, but I did try everything, much to my wife's shock. You are right about the steak. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked. We are not wine drinkers, but we tried them anyway. Our friends opted for the non-alcoholic drinks. We were not in suites, but both couples were elite. I do not know if that played into our invitation. As to what they may charge in the future, I cannot even hazard a guess. But for now, make an effort to take part.
  5. There was no charge for us on the Discovery. After having gone, I would say it is worth a charge, but they never had one. What surprised me was that they did not send us a survey about 360. I thought that would be a given.
  6. I was asking for information, not trying to sell a package. I got the call from a friend who does not use CC, so I said I would ask. I am appreciative of all who took part in the thread. It will certainly help others avoid being scammed.
  7. Thanks! I am forwarding your post to my friends. If it sounds too good...
  8. Today, the couple we often cruise with got a call from someone saying he was with the Princess Package Department. He was pushing a package that included cruise credit, OBC, excursions, and a week's vacation at one of several resorts in different locations. He knew about their cruise history and upcoming cruises, so he must have had some actual connection to Princess. He was offering zero percent financing for 3, 6, 12, or 18 months. When my friend begged off (having never heard of this) the caller wanted him to schedule a follow-up call. After we talked about it we thought it might be some kind of timeshare promotion. Have any of you ever heard of a promotion like this?
  9. The rental car is a great idea, but they are sold out that day. We have had the same problems in other ports. Apparently you need to book cars as soon as you book the ship! We did the 26 glacier tour before and it was terrific.
  10. Although we have been on a lot of cruises, this June we will be doing our first B2B between the NB Vancouver to Whittier and the SB Whittier to Vancouver on Majestic. We have the same cabin for both legs, and it is two 7-day cruises not one 14-day. What do we have to do in Whittier? Do we have to get off the ship and back on? Do we have to get new medallions? Could we stay aboard, for example in the Hollywood Conservatory? We assume we can leave all our belongings in the stateroom, including the safe.
  11. Please contact me offline at mgoff@aba.org and I will give you his contact info, cost, etc. By the way, we will be in Scottsdale for a couple weeks next month birding. Always fun.
  12. No, we went back and enjoyed an afternoon on Discovery. The weather was perfect for being out on deck. Are you getting snow tonight?!? 🙂
  13. We had booked S&S for Cabo, but it got cancelled so we booked it in Mazatlan and it was great! There is a bus ride to the resort, so by the time we got there and things got set up it was closer to 10am. We had a lot of hands-on making six different salsas and had snacks to go with it plus all the margaritas we wanted. Non-alcoholic versions available. The beach/pool is right there, so you can either do the Salsa dancing part or do the beach or a combo. We flew from the Springs with a connection in Vegas. Our return had a connection at DIA. We flew out 3 days early. At the end of the cruise we went straight back to LGB by taxi. Walked right off the ship without any hassle and avoided all the morning lines at the airport by relaxing on the picnic tables in front of the rental car trailers right across from the terminal. Let me know if you have any other questions.
  14. Apparently I was not adamant enough in my praise of 360. My wife tells me it was the best part of the whole cruise (the octopus notwithstanding).
  15. We were on this sailing and want to thank Darren and Cindy for the Meet & Greet. We also were fortunate enough to go birding with them in Puerto Vallarta to the Rancho Primavera with our guide Antonio. Club Class dining was terrific, as always. The head waiter, Renzo, was the most involved HW we have ever had. Between the 360 Experience and the Club Class, we did not feel the need to go to any of the pay dining venues - with one exception. We were sailing with three other couples. Two of them were having their anniversaries that week and wanted to go to the Crown Grille. We joined them and had a good steak and great fun. We had a lot of fun in Princess Live, took the Salsa & Salsa excursion in Mazatlan, and had a relaxing day aboard during the day at Cabo. We flew in and out of Long Beach because we did not want to mess with the hubbub of LAX. It was the right decision for us. We would definitely sail on Discovery again, even this same itinerary.
  16. We also were invited to the 360 Experience. What fun!!! If you get a chance, jump on it.
  17. According to what we were told, that is exactly what the plan is.
  18. We were called a week before the cruise. We were not suite passengers, but we are elites. We were with three other couples and only the other elite couple was contacted. We went together and had a great time. Our post-cruise surveys did not ask about the 360.
  19. We are on Discovery and we are elite, but not in a suite (Club Class mini). We did not have to do anything but select a time. I am not familiar with 360 dining experience.
  20. We got a phone call this afternoon asking if we wanted to take part in a special dining offer for invited guests only. The person I spoke to was very hard to understand, but she seemed to have all our information, asked for no money and said the offer was free for invited guests. Have any of you had this offer or know anything that would help me? Thanks.
  21. Now you have gone and given us something else to consider. I just don't think I would want to deal with the wind. Otherwise it looks great. Thanks for the photos.
  22. Suite passengers have their breakfast choice of CC or Sabatini's. We tried Sabatini's and it was nothing special. Our regular CC wait staff is superior in every way.
  23. I always order the James Beard french toast in Club Class whether it is on the menu, or not. They will get you anything you want (within reason). We always eat in CC and do not even mess with the specialty restaurants.
  24. We have not seen any servers taking drink orders in the theater on any cruise since the restart after COVID.
