  1. Seriously suggest the scooter question is asked directly to Cunard, by ‘phone and request their confirmations of allowed types etc be confirmed in writing. Seem to remember a past complaint on CC by scooter owners, because parking was not allowed outside their staterooms.
  2. Plus Bars, public spaces etc, except the Winter Garden and like. You’re not going to experience everything that Cunard offers onboard. One’s enjoyment areas are somewhat reduced.
  3. Don’t forget the purchase of Carnival Shares. Trading currently at about $10 per share, so the outlay will be approximately $1000, with the ROI for this single 7 night cruise will be roughly 10%. Some Cunarders actually achieved a ROI of 100% in a year. What other global stock can offer this? A no brainer. Don’t forget to book future 2023/24 cruises onboard, with the Cunard Fare. By taking the Cunard Fare, one is allowed to “move” one cruise to another (later - 2025?) without any penalty. Cunard Fare gives total flexibility and makes allowances for any unforeseen circumstances. Also receiving some nice OBC (aka Free Money)
  4. One can bring onboard whatever one can carry (or by trolly or sack wheelbarrow) at embarkation. One has even rolled onboard a barrel of Rhum at Martinique. This caused much amusement. Then the same amounts apply to each visited port. Correct, only Duty Free liquor purchased from the onboard Duty Free is held until the penultimate day. Cigarettes and Cigars can be taken away immediately from onboard Duty Free Cunard treat their guests as responsible adults.
  5. @MrsPeel55 Small tips….. Purchase all one’s duty free requirements spirits, tobacco etc asap, because there could be a sell-out of specific popular brands. Most newbies wait until the final days, then complain about the lack of stock. If wished, purchase a bottle of local wine, spirits or liqueur at each port to enjoy the sail away on one’s balcony.
  6. Indication of Spa prices….. https://www.cunard.com/content/dam/cunard/marketing-assets/life-on-board/spa/4666_13_OSW-CUN_Mareel_Spa_Collateral_Price List_AW2-Sept2021.pdf
  7. @MrsPeel55 - There is no charge for any additional ‘Sides’. Select as many one wishes. Take the Sea Platter and Wagyu - But do reduce the consumption of the pre starter bread/olive oil, as one will find it quite filling. The Wine list is good, with a nice selection of specialty cocktails to suit all palates. The Virgin Cocktails are splendid, looking identical to the alcoholic ones. As this is one’s first time in the Verandah, be prepared to be surprised when asked select one’s ‘knife’ from the box presented. The steaks are cooked on a grill, but if wished, one can ask for a steak to be pan fried and butter basted. Enjoy…
  8. The isolation was one of the key elements that attracted us. Plus LW could deliver all we wanted, from ambience to dining. Everyone has a free choice as to how they wish to start their Cruise/Voyage.
  9. Agree, these are identical thoughts one had for Lime Wood. Suggest one considers LW and all it has to offer for a pre-cruise stay.
  10. Gatwick https://www.gatwickairport.com/at-the-airport/flying-out/Airport-lounges/ Heathrow https://www.heathrow-airport-guide.co.uk/business-facilities.html Cunard offer Lounges via Holiday Extras (outsourced) https://www.holidayextras.com/cunard/lounges.html Same Lounges at Airports - Compare prices, stay time, etc., etc.. A aside Regarding Airpotr. On collection of suitcases, tracking tags are fitted and one can track. On arrival and airside one receives a text with photos of cases in location. One can track suitcases online from arrival to airside. Have used Airpotr for years…… If wishing to track suitcases globally, Apple offer a great product. Again we use every trip. It’s great because one can track suitcases in the hold below seatings. Then on arrival track suitcases to a distance of 1 meter. No angst.
  11. Airpotr - Do a dummy booking with one’s actual flight details. Then think about what one would pay for not having the angst of lugging of suitcases on/off transport to the airport, then searching for a free luggage trolly, loading it and pushing it through departure, followed by queuing (shuffle/stop) for up to an hour to check luggage. But to breeze smoothly and comfortably from hotel direct to security. £14 pp ? Airport Lounge. Have always booked direct with the selected Lounge. Think one is staying for two nights. Therefore, look to tour on day two and one invites CC member (IMHO the best) @cruisemom42 to give the best ideas for group tours and group transfers by road to Civi. with wheelchair considerations.
  12. Yes to the Logo, at least to the one’s in the past (3 years ago). A tip for BA if not flying PE or above for extra baggage. BA give 23 kilos for hand, so consider shoes (and other heavy items) into the cabin pull-along, leaving spare weight for checked luggage. Tips. If taking a pre-flight hotel look at https://airportr.com/en/ - They collect one’s checked luggage, from Hotel or home (if in catchment area) weigh and track, so one can just arrive at the airport and go straight to security. No dragging luggage into the airport and no check-in hassle. Take a look at their website-Simples.. Purchase any heavy weight toiletries (sunscreen etc) after airport security. One could order online (Boots) and collect from airport. Book an airport lounge, it’s worth the extra pennies to be away from the noise/action. Comfortable seating. Nice food and refreshments to hand with spotless toilets etc.
  13. Strange…. Best then make a request to one’s room steward or PD if not supplied. Failing that, use envelopes and paper from room information file (additional stationary from PD), or purchase postcards from the shop
  14. Another set of Cunard tips Go to the Pursers Desk and ask for a pen, as think now Britannia only leaves a pencil in the room information file, hopefully one will receive a Cunard logo pen. Also, when at the PD request a couple of Cunard Sewing Kits. If not used, one has them to hand for future Voyages. Lastly, for fun, take all the postal addresses of friends and family. The stateroom information file contains a few Cunard Postcards (showing one’s ship). One can request additional cards from PD. Then one can send a hand written postcards to friends and family from the ship, complete with a Cunard “Posted From” Logo Rubber Stamp. Take the completed cards to PD and pay for postage and a small fee. The PD will post the cards for one. PS. Leave a suitably large space at the top/right corner of the postcard to take a postage stamp.
  15. @MrsPeel55 - just a thought for those in a wheelchair. On +unarmed there are NO trays in the Lido/King's Court. If considering a visit during the Voyage then purchase this item to bring onboard.
  16. Think MDs are Senior Officers.
  17. Harbour Hotel offers EV charge points for guests. Contact them direct for rooms and charge availability.
  18. @BRDbabies Just as an aside…… Ask one’s steward, plus Mother’s, for two off “Deck Blankets” per person, to keep legs and shoulders warm, if chilly on the balcony. A small gratuity will be appreciated.
  19. The “gratuity” was for the harpist and string ensemble. The offer was for the receiver/s to have a refreshment in the crew bar, or onshore, when off duty.
  20. One has, having enjoyed performances. It was financial when a favourite beverage from the bar was declined due to ship rules. It was not considered rude, or breaking any rules. All were greatly appreciated and in return one was granted a music request. A win/win What goes around…….
  21. Take the thanks…. And the Hapoy Mother Hug.
  22. Be generous and kind. Balcony!…. It’s your Mother….. Put the extra special tours etc on the plastic and forget about the money, one’s Mother is more important.
  23. For the record, When booking onboard the Cunard Fare, plus onboard booking bonus (FCC/FCD) and shareholder benefit can be stacked. EG. when booking onboard Cunard Fare balcony 7 nights say $100 OBC pp (2 pax total = $200) Onboard booking bonus 7 nights = $150 pp (2 pax total = $300) Shareholder benefit = $100 per stateroom (2 pax) - Not immediate - One has to apply later Stateroom total = $600 (2 pax)
  24. All OBC can be used onboard for tours, bars, restaurants, shops, duty free etc. But can not be used as, or part of, a future cruise booking payment. Deposits for future cruises are taken against credit/debit cards. One can book more than one future cruise onboard, if wished.
  25. One understands correctly. Book onboard and receive OBC per person in addition to the Cunard Fare. This OBC replaced the previous FCC (now removed from UK Cruisers). FCC/FCD schedule of benefits…… Cruise Length Onboard Spend 6-9 nights Grill Accommodation $200 USD 6-9 nights Balcony Accommodation $150 USD 6-9 nights Inside/ Outside Accommodation $100 USD 10 nights or more Grill Accommodation $400 USD 10 nights or more Balcony Accommodation $300 USD 10 nights or more Inside/Outside Accommodation $200 USD Then, if shares purchased, more OBC is received as published. A no brainer……..
