  1. Last time we were in GT, a year ago, I don't recall any food type places between Margaritaville and Jacks. Chair rental places, so maybe there's bar service some where. Used to be a couple of spots but long closed.
  2. Yes there are larger size tenders. Tender crews assist those in wheel chairs and some scooters.
  3. Sorry didn't take one. But last Sunday, self assist started at 6:45A. Pinnacle and Suites went at 7 and 7:15. Tags 1-5 went at 7:30. Didn't pay any attention beyond that except that last tags were due to debark around 8:50. We walked off the ship at 7:25 ( tag 5) and were on Rte 528 by 7:50. I did see luggage already in aisles for the 20s and 30s when we got our luggage.
  4. You're correct. We missed Voices due to scheduling conflicts.
  5. Having just returned from CM, I'm a bit disappointed. Used to be one of my favorite ports. Malecon is getting more "seedy" and loaded with vendors hawking the same schlock in kiosks lining the front of the beach bars. Krazy Lobster has a gazillion different areas, not all connected. The port is no longer a "small shopping area". Takes a good 10 minutes to navigate through and unless you're part of an excursion, to get a taxi you have to exit the port and walk up a couple of blocks where taxis are lined up.
  6. Lots of small shops in the port. All down the malecon in Mahahual are kiosks in front of beach clubs and vendors selling everything walking up and down the loungers on the beach. Can't opine if they are made by local craftsmen or not, but most looked the same to me, just eyeballing. Will say that the port area has gotten larger over the years and not in a good way, IMO. To me malecon looks really run down even compared to a year ago when places were trying to recover from the pandemic. Was very disappointed, as this used to be one of my favorite ports.
  7. It was in low 80s and humid last week. 2 ships in on Friday.
  8. Tap Factory no longer on Wonder. Last week we have Effectors2 and a juggling act-two guys who've been on AGT and other shows. Just an average act. I can see why they didn't win on AGT. As far as I could tell, the Royal Theater was empty except for the last 3 nights.
  9. She should see it come up about 10-14 days out. There will be more once on board.
  10. Depends on what venue you use. Years ago at South Shore Canopy, SIL sat out while DW and I did the course. She just kinda hung around and yakked with the people there. At Mahogany Bay, the zip line is right across from the shopping area. Been a long time but I don't recall anything other than ziplines at Pirates of the Caribbean.
  11. Many groups with over 50 passengers will book the Solarium for specific event. No big deal, plenty of places to eat on boarding.
  12. I don't think there are golf cart rentals in Belize City. No where to go and traffic can be terrible.
  13. It's a ship excursion. They have shuttle buses. Not a place you can just walk into on your own. The house is near the southern end of Cockburntown. If there are other ships in port they will most likely offer this excursion as well. So could get crowded. We've been by it several times. Lots of water activities can be seen. Can't opine on place or service. HAL or Carnival should have some reviews on their websites.
  14. I agree with @c-leg5 Only other place I know right outside the port is Pizza Papi's which has good pizza but I only had a beer there so don't recall any real bar. Further down the road toward the highway are a few places: Snack Bar IKAL. La Cueva Del Basilisco, Tequila & Cocuy. No clue as to what these 3 have to offer.Only a single glowing review for each on TA. Nothing on Yelp.
  15. There are some. https://tickettofun.travel/tour/dune-buggy-and-beach-adventure/ https://www.viator.com/*****/4WD-ATV-and-Off-Road-Tours/d4345-g9-c32 No idea how these are as we have never done an ATV tour in Costa Maya.
  16. Take a taxi to Sulumar or Machos. Both at the southern end of the main malecon in Mahahual. Thus away from the crowds and roving vendors.
  17. There are no tequila distilleries on Cozumel. There is a Tequila Factory out on the transversal road from downtown to east side. It's basically a museum/exhibit on tequila and does offer tequila samplings and bottles for sale, but only it's brand. Chankanaab Beach does have a tequila tasting, as does it's sister site, Discover Mexico, both offering tasting of different types and brands. Agave downtown on the square next to Fat Tuesdays has a wide variety of both tequilas and mezcals. Small place but the barkeeps know their stuff. Try Tres Generaciones Anejo or Cava de Oro.
  18. Taxis are right at port. One thing tweens might like is going to Maho and watching planes land. Mullet Beach is a great beach that mostly attracts locals. Dawn Beach has great snorkeling. Orient Beach is nice but can get crowded.
  19. What ship are you on? If docking at Crown Bay, head to Emerald Beach (Lindbergh). If at Havensight, go to Sapphire or Coki.
  20. Aah. A fellow vet of the Cat's Meow and Cha Chi's hole in the wall. You'll find everything changed. Port, town outside, the malecon. Even up to COVID, Costa Maya was my favorite port. COVID saw a lot of places built up since the hurricane go out of business or change ownership. The "sleepy fishing village" is no more. Last two times we were there, we just hung out at Jaime's Blue Reef (Jaime used to have NoHoch Kay, which he opened after hurricane) and I didn't even walk up and down the malecon. Used to head up and say hello to Steve at Tropicante, but he's no longer there. And sometimes, pre-COVID, grab a bite at Sak Ha a food truck near the lighthouse. What places does your father remember and be interested in seeing again?
  21. I'm assuming you're with us next week Western. So I'll look for you to hitch a rideπŸ˜„πŸ˜
  22. DW had a decent vodka martini at Mason Jar. Older barkeeps at Boleros seem to know what they are doing, but Schooner Bar generally has the best cocktail bartenders.
  23. 7 hours in CM is a pretty good stay. Not sure of total distance. But takes around 15 minutes to get from furthest pier to parking area.
