  1. West side of Coz is fairly populated with beaches. I would venture that the site could most likely be south of Palancar, but there's no access road now. So maybe between Nachi Cocum and Iberostar. AlthoughI believe there are condo developments along that stretch. Only place near the cruise pier would be to take over Margaritaville (Jimmy no longer needs his retirement fund 😆 ) or Sunset Beach where there's not a lot of room for what hints at being planned.

  3. Most posters on this board are arriving and leaving via cruise ships. Here's the airport website. https://www.sxmairport.com/
  4. If it's not too hot, there are lots of trails and some animals and birds. But you need a ship excursion these days. Visitors can't DIY.
  5. Carnival's big ship Mardi Gras docks there. It's almost as long 344 meters vs 360, and has a deeper depth 12 meters vs just under 10 for Oasis.
  6. Bathrooms at many places along the malecon are at best "rustic", Jaime's included. Jaime says that they are currently using the Luna as overflow from Blue Reef.
  7. Prices are set by Port of Miami, not RCCL. That's their current day rate regardless of length of cruise. Unfortunately there are few nearby offsite parking lots with decent reputation.
  8. They tend to face toward the pool and not next to the inside railing so you see the pool, but everybody and their brother walks in front. Not worth the price IMO.

    Massages

I had offers of $20 or 1/2 hour back in January. That was several massage stands along the upper and middle stretch of the malecon.
  10. Age limits are often set by excursion company and insurance provider. We had our ship excursion from Cozumel to Tulum cancelled because we're both over 70 although we'd personally have no physical issues with the excursion. Ships aren't going to deviate from an excursion provider's policy and the excursion provider isn't going to risk losing their business if something goes wrong. It's sad but that's just the way it is. Until the ship excursion desk and the excursion provider actually see you they have zero idea of your physical condition and ability.
  11. Barefoot down near the airport. Or Pinchos Grill for over the water, a short walk up the beach from Barefoot. If you want to go toward Eagle Beach, Atardi in the Aruba Marriott up in Palm Beach or Matthews in Eagle Beach.
  12. There are several places in the Fort. Or walk past the swing bridge and try Gouverneur De Rouville The best and most expensive restaurants in the area are Bodega Siete Gotas in Koralengebier and The Wine Celler in Wilhelmstad both probably short taxi rides from the pier.
  13. What port are you departing from? Ship time may be different from Belize time. Belize is on Central Standard time all year long.
  14. West Deck along Governors Bay Great Ocean views across the inlet from Queen Wilhelmina Park and the Renaissance Hotel. Excellent Aruban dishes.. Or LG Smith's Steak and Chop House Just a couple of blocks to your right out of the cruise pier. And people love Yemanja Woodfired Grill, a block or two behind LS Smith's on Wilhelmnastraat.
  15. There's plenty of shade at the Beach Club. Not a lot of activities for the kiddos there. In fact I have never seen younger children there except perhaps in the over water cabanas. So the decision you have to make is whether or not you want the kids to have a grand time or spend the day with the in-laws.
  16. I believe tickets are around $30 per person. You pick it up at Fort Amsterdam which is across teh Queen Emma Bridge and to your right.
  17. You meet the rep for Victor Bodden tours at his kiosk behind the shopping area. That guide will walk you out to the vehicle. We liked South Shore Canopy. But Pirates of the Caribbean has a variety of heights. If you're seeing sloths and monkeys and some aren't zipping, then Victor would be my pick.
  18. We have to submit a form stating DW's handicap before every cruise. Granted some folks try to get these not being handicapped, but for the most part I haven't seen an over abundance of scooters outside regular cabins.Nor a ton of scooters or walkers on deck. I beleive Carnival has just started limiting the size of scooters allowed on board as some of these can be the size of small SUVs.
  19. That's my understanding. only max 28 guests at new place.
  20. Jaime confirmed the location. They're working on the website. We've booked Maya Chan for our next visit to Costa Maya next year. But we'll watch the reviews and maybe consider it in 2026.
  21. Course fees look expensive You do need to pay close attention to ferry times for returns. Gran Coyote might be a bit closer. https://teetimes-rivieramaya.com/
  22. Maybe he bought the old Lunas Bar which was just south of the camping spot but north of the hotel.I'll email him and find out. Nothing on the web. Just adding that a search for Lunas Beach Resort, only brings up the Luna Beach Resort in Roatan, which is a bit off the beaten track but an excellent spot uncrowded and the cafe has great Honduran coffee.
  23. Well at least it's not delayed. Just getting the weekend party cruise to kick it off vs a weekday launch.
  24. I recall some going outside the port area, but it has been a while since we were there.
  25. Probably just over a mile. The Port Authority is just around the bend in the harbor as you walk around the marina. There used to be a gate at the end of the wharf that allowed you to by-pass going out the main gate.
