  1. Audrey, thank you for sharing this sad, sad news with us. I think everyone has thought frequently about your mom since she shared the news of her prognosis. It is comforting to know she had time to do some amazing trips and make those great memories with your family. Sherri
  2. Actually, we have a cruise in April on Celebrity Apex. We sailed on this ship last year and my husband really loved it so booked another one. Then in July, our son is bringing his family from Australia to Florida. They wanted to do a cruise so we are taking them on. short 4 day cruise on Independence. I think one of our other sons may be able to cruise with us, almost a complete family cruise.😂. Our next trip is next week as we are driving up to northern VA to stay with the grandkids while their parents go house hunting in SC. Should be fun! Sherri🙂
  3. Hey Melody, I made you chicken cacciatore recipe yesterday. It turned out really well. I added onions, mushrooms and garlic since I am one of those people that can never do a recipe as written!😂. My husband like it. Lovely Easter decorations! Sherri🙂
  4. We enjoy both Royal and Celebrity and think they are both pretty equal in terms of food and service. I think Celebrity would be a good fit for you, especially if you give one of the Edge class ships a try. We sailed on Apex last year and that was the first time in a longtime I have boarded a ship and said “Wow”. I’ve always thought the entertainment on Royal was better but Apex had amazing entertainment. Your daughter would love it! We enjoyed every minute on the ship and are getting ready to go again in April. Sherri🙂
  5. Melissa, sending you lots of positive thoughts from sunny Florida! And pixie cuts seem to be very popular! Your hair will look great by July! Sherri🙂
  6. Hi Sharon! California is certainly have a rough year so far. Glad to know you are doing well. Sherri🙂
  7. It just seems like yesterday that I turned 65 and now I am getting close to the next big one!😂😂😂 I hope you have a wonderful birthday and enjoy your time with your sister and Bil. Sherri🙂
  8. We just finished 8 night cruise on Jewel last Saturday, our first with the new menus. IMO, food was pretty much the same as it’s been for several years; some dishes are excellent and some are disappointing with most falling in between. Protein portions were typically a good size but the sides with them were small. One night I had one pieceof broccoli, one carrot slice and a serving of mashed potatoes that was maybe 1/4 of a cup.😂 I really liked the jerk pork chop, cheese tortellini, and the chili lime salmon on Mexican night. My husband enjoyed his prime rib, the roast beef on British night and the lobster. Amazing desserts were Key lime pie, tres leches cake and, according to my husband, anything chocolate. I would avoid the strawberry shortcake, apple cobbler and the English trifle. We had great service in the MDR as well as in Giovanni’s one night. The food in Giovanni’s was excellent, too. Sherri🙂
  9. We were on this cruise, too. Internet was good when it worked but we had problems getting kicked off after a few minutes of use. And it worked very poorly in our cabin but we were down on deck 3. I found on port days when I had phone service that it was much faster to use my phone’s hotspot than try to log on. I agree with you about the wine!😂 Sherri🙂
  10. We thought choosing evening service would work for that reason but found it did not. We shower before going out for the evening around 6pm but there were several days where we stayed out until about 5 and came back to get ready, only to find our room finished. So wet towels had to be hung up and were still a little dampish the next morning. I learned to keep the magnet on our door that said we were sleeping so she would not come in before we had showered. Sherri🙂
  11. You know, we are pretty easy going passengers, keep our room tidy and never make any requests as we don’t need any extras. I can (and did😂) certainly make my own bed each day. We even took care of the dirty glasses we had in the room. I don’t need or want to be waited on hand and foot. I can live with once a day service, however, in over 70 cruises, I have never felt like I had to make plans based on when the steward wanted to do her job until this cruise. And this is the first cruise since we resumed cruising in 2021 that we have experienced so many cutbacks at once. I feel bad for the cabin stewards as their jobs just got much harder. We will still tip extra. Sherri🙂
  12. Hi Lois, glad you got your insurance straightened out and have found a new doctor! Sounds like things are going well. Sherri🙂
  13. Nope, have not seen anything, anywhere. Only heard the steward giving that info to his guests. Also, this is the first cruise in a long time where our steward did not leave a card with her name and number in case we needed anything. Sherri🙂
  14. I said we would be leaving as soon as my husband got his shoes on😂 and she could come in then.😂 This morning I over heard another steward telling his guests cleaning hours were between 830 to 1230 and 4 to 6, so explains why she seemed unhappy. She did not give us any hours for cleaning. Sherri🙂
  15. Currently on Jewel, I don’t know who seems to be grumbling about the new once a day service the most, cabin stewards or passengers. We were asked the first day to choose either evening or morning for our service. We chose evening which meant we had none the first evening which was fine. 2nd day, we were getting ready to go out for the evening. 6 pm, our steward knocked on the door to ask if we wanted our cabin service or not? She did not seem happy with us.😂 Sherri🙂
  16. When we first started cruising, I noticed my feet swelling within a day or two of boarding. Cruising is the only place I’ve ever had a problem with this. Once I switched to bottled water, the problem stopped. While I believe those who say there is no excessive sodium in the ship’s water,I think there must be either something in it or something lacking that causes this for me. Sherri🙂
  17. We were on in November, 2021 and said many times, we were happy we did not book the world cruise as we could not imagine being on Serenade that long! And we had done several TAs on Serenade prior to the pandemic and enjoyed them. Serenade definitely needs refurbishment! Sherri🙂
  18. You’re right in that he did change for her but he did not have to continue being a different person, he tossed the letter sweater and went back to his leather jacket bad boy persona. Grease never bothered me until I had a granddaughter, now I feel like I am seeing it through her eyes and I don’t enjoy it as much. Sherri🙂
  19. I don’t think I have ever seen a long line at the snack shack. And we usually have had two ships there. Sherri🙂
