  1. I have to second the big WOW from Lois! I thought I was young but you have me beat! We married 2 months before my 19th birthday, Richard was 21. Our wedding was the summer before my second year of nursing school and Richard’s senior year. We lived in married housing at Indiana University. Good times! So, once again we got a little crazy and booked a cruise that leaves tomorrow! I told my husband that I felt like we needed a just relax vacation after the go go go of the river cruise, so I guess I better pack!😂 Sherri🙂
  2. You think? 🙄. As a maternal child nurse for over 40 years, it seems to me that if it is accurate, mom might have been less than truthful about her due date. Sherri🙂
  3. Wow, Lois, you had a very fun day! Lay’s Sour cream and Onion potato chips are my very favorite chip and difficult for me to pass up! Sherri🙂
  4. We drove to Orlando. Melbourne would be much closer for us but there are a limited number of airlines that fly out of there with fewer flights. I do not miss shoveling snow! Sherri🙂
  5. Hello to all. Sounds like you all had a nice TG. I dropped the boys at the airport yesterday morning and napped yesterday afternoon.😂. We had a really good time with Eli, played a lot of beach soccer and board games. It was fun to have him for 4 days but always good to see him go home! Busy day today! I have a checkup tomorrow so had to get labs today. I am dreading getting on the scale and pretty sure my labs are not going to be very good considering we had the Canada cruise, the river cruise and TG , all since the middle of September. There has been a lot of carbohydrates and wine during this time! Also getting my hair colored ( the gray roots are really showing, I was surprised Eli didn’t comment on it) and picking up my new glasses! Can’t wait to start wearing glasses🙄 but at least I’ll have good hair! Sherri🙂
  6. No, we picked them up. We got to the terminal at 715, there was no traffic around the terminals by Independence at that time and none when we left for the airport. There was a large bus parked by the exit that about a dozen people who came out ahead of our son got on but no lines at that time. Sherri🙂
  7. Actually, the beginning was pretty good😂. Our son and his husband walked off at 735 and we had them at the airport at 817. Sherri🙂
  8. Our last Chef’s table was in 2019 on Harmony. We had the same menu on the previous Chef’s tables in previous years and it is the same menu on showing on the app now. Sherri🙂
  9. 65+ Royal cruises, we carry a bottle of wine into MDR and/or specialties on every cruise. Never charged a corkage fee. Only once did we have someone mention it, our waiter in the MDR. asked if we knew there was a corkage fee and I nicely said yes, we did. He did not charge us. Sherri🙂
  10. Good morning to all! Gray, cloudy day today on the beach, I am hoping this rainy weather clears out this afternoon, we need sunshine for Eli so he can swim! Sharon, I am enjoying cooking in the new kitchen, for the first time since we moved in. I hated cooking in the old kitchen, for some reason, I could never feel like it was really clean, maybe because the previous owner left it in such a mess? I felt like I had to clean before I cooked something everytime. Plus, I have more counter space for prepping, more cabinet space so stuff is not jammed in and falling out when the door is opened and everything organized.Love it! Lois, we have my husband’s federal insurance for retirees as our secondary to Medicare. It is part of the Anthem/Blue Cross company. I’m guessing Florida Blue might also be part of this so might be worthwhile to look into it. We have been very happy with Medicare plus our secondary, have not had to pay any deductables or extras for years. Happy Thanksgiving! Sherri🙂
  11. Hard to believe Thanksgiving is just a few days away! Since we have a complete kitchen😂, I am cooking a typical TG dinner for the first time in years. Our oldest son, son in law, and grandson (Wildman) are flying down on Wednesday. They will spend Thursday with us, then the two adults are leaving Friday on a short weekend cruise. We are babysitting which means hours of playing Uno and Trouble, beach soccer and pool time. Fortunately, our pool is heated as temps have been in the high 60s, low 70s during the daytime. Florida natives are wearing their puffy winter coats! Monday, we will take them to the airport and probably, nap the rest of the day!😂 OOTD: Cleaning house, so old, faded denim capris and a gap tshirt, maybe long sleeves since I am going to the Publix in a little bit. Will put a little make up on, too.😂 Sherri🙂
  12. Melissa, hope you are getting through this dose well. Is there only 2 more left? Your cruise next summer should be lovely, Barcelona is one of my favorite cities to visit. Lois, lots of crazy, hateful people in this country along with too many guns! Sherri🙂
  13. Kat, I hope you feel better soon! I agree with all of you regarding the violence that keeps occurring over and over, what the heck is wrong with us? Sherri😞
  14. When I walk up to go into the terminal, I have the app open with my set sail pass ready to go. 13 cruises since August, 2021 and check in has been fast and easy, never more than a few minutes. I am always amazed at how quick it is. I have yet to be behind anyone struggling to find it on their phone, I have been behind people shuffling papers and/or dropping them. 😂 Sherri🙂
  15. Thanks for the kind comments! The picture makes the kitchen look darker than it really is. My favorite part will always be the ocean view! The other end opposite the sink:
  16. Good morning to all! Great news: as of noon yesterday, kitchen is done! We are still waiting on delivery of two doors that were damaged during shipment and one of the glass panels that cracked during installation, but otherwise, done! I spent yesterday afternoon putting it all together and I am pretty pleased with the results. My husband is wanting to get started on the master and guest bathrooms but I want to wait awhile as I am tired of all the chaos. Maybe I will feel different after the first of the year.😂 Sherri🙂
  17. I have checked in at 8, 830 am several times and was able to get 1030 or 1100. Latest I have ever had in our 13 cruises has been 1230. I don’t get the “angst”. Sherri🙂
  18. Lois, it took me awhile to adjust to having Medicare, made me feel very old!😂 But I had an eye exam the other day and am now awaiting my first pair of glasses for distance. When I tried the first pair on and looked in the mirror, I got a little teary eyed. I looked like someone’s grandmother! Sherri🙂
  19. Funny, I was thinking the same thing when I started reading the Celebrity board after we booked our first Celebrity cruise back in 2012. The fashion police on Celebrity can be quite vicious😂 Sherri 🙂
  20. Blu on Infinity prior to the pandemic was very good but also felt very crowded. Service, especially sommelier, was excellent. On Apex after pandemic, we felt, while the service was still excellent, the food was mediocre at best. I prefer dinner in the MDR. Sherri🙂
  21. I think the food is pretty similar on both lines. Some dishes are good, some not so good. I do think Celebrity gives you more to choose from on their menus and in the buffet. Royal has much better breads and pastries. Sherri🙂
  22. A beautiful day here in Satellite Beach! I was able to get down on the beach yesterday, most of the crossovers have been damaged and cannot be used but there is one at a beach just to our south that has been opened. Totally different picture from down on the beach. Most of the dunes have been eroded and will need repair. Our beach access looks undamaged when you are looking from our balcony but when down on the beach, it is apparent the stairs going down are missing. The condos and homes that have damage were all built on top of the dunes which was prohibited back in the early 90’s. One house, where the owners have been spending thousands of dollars since 2011 trying to stabilize their dunes to no avail, looks like it is about ready to fall onto the beach. It will take years to fix things. Melody, the shower looks great! Sorry to read you have to have another foot surgery, at least you are able to put it off until after Christmas. You can enjoy your cruise and your grandson! Sherri🙂
