  1. Got home today about 2pm, no apparent damage to our condo but some damage here and there , more than when Ian came through. The condos next to us appear to have lost most of thier beach and damage to their sea wall but our beach looks untouched. Will have to see what it looks like when the tide goes out. Kat, your boots sound like a fun addition! Sherri 🙂
  2. The beaches in Brevard County were pretty torn up after hurricane Irma. The Satellite Beach area received a million dollar grant from the federal government for restoration. It took almost 8 months and within a few months of completion, the ocean had reclaimed quite a bit. I don’t know of any voting that was done in SB? Sherri🙂
  3. Latest info on Nicole has her making landfall about 50 miles south of us and, being on a barrier island, we decided this morning to evacuate up to Jacksonville which is just expecting a lot of rain tomorrow (I hope!). So we are camped out at a Holiday Inn Express on the southwest side of I 95. Hopefully, we can go back tomorrow night. Sharon, how is the kitchen going you ask? They still have to finish the trim, replace baseboard that was damaged during demolition, finish wall tiling and install my dishwasher. I told the construction supervisor yesterday that it needs to be done before Thanksgiving and he assured me it would. But of course, no one is working for the next few days due to Nicole. Kat, white chicken chili is one of my favorite rainy day/cold weather dishes! Election was disappointing here in Florida but not unexpected. Good day here in Jacksonville for a nap! Sherri🙂
  4. Made it home Monday night about 7 but we’re still on Amsterdam time so it felt like one am. Still working to get back on EST. Cynthia, glad you enjoyed your trip and are feeling better. Lots of people, including me, coughing on our cruise and on plane. Lots of viruses going around! Melissa, congrats on finishing 3rd treatment! I hope you get your veranda cabin for July cruise! Unfortunately Kat, we do not have access to any airline lounge so we get to hangout with the tired, uncomfortable masses.😂. I have no food porn, while I enjoy looking at others pictures, I never think to take any of my own. We did have some great goulash in Budapest and Austria along with some really good meals in Germany. Food on the ship was good but nothing that made me say wow, although the breads were amazing! Lois, glad you are back and had a wonderful cruise! Isn’t Quebec City lovely? I am supposed to have a check up on Monday with labs but I am calling today to change it. After all the food and wine I have had for 2 weeks I do not want to see the numbers and I do not want to step on a scale! Getting my to go bag ready today in case we have to evacuate for Nicole! Sherri🙂
  5. Sitting in the Amsterdam airport waiting for our our flight home. After reading horror stories about getting through security and passport control, it really was not too bad. We waited longer in a line to check in than the other two. Cruise was great, I loved the ports, the castles, etc. We had lovely fall weather, cool but sunny most days. It is cold and rainy here in Amsterdam so I am really happy we chose not to stay an extra day, especially since that is the forecast for most of the week. Will be really happy to get home tonight! Sherri🙂
  6. Just waiting around this morning to go to our ship. We had an amazing day yesterday exploring Budapest that ended with our evening cruise on the Danube. Sharon, you were right, the cruise was fabulous! Sherri🙂
  7. I have been on Prilosec for several years, Kat, after I developed GERD due to my arthritis drugs. Actually, my cough seems to be a little bit better so hopeful it is on it’s way out! Sherri🙂
  8. Not only did we make but our luggage made it, too!😂. Hope you are enjoying Quebec as much as we did! Sherri🙂
  9. Sitting in the airport in Amsterdam waiting for next flight to Budapest. So far, trip has gone smoothly, no problems with flights. Thanks for the Tessalon suggestion, Melody, I will talk to my doctor about it if is still a problem when I get home. I did not cough at all yesterday until I buckled into my seat on the first flight, then I coughed incessantly for about 5 min. The man seated next to me put his mask on😂. No more coughing after that until second flight. Hope things are going well for Lois! Sherri🙂
  10. I checked in this morning at 8am for our 12/3 Jewel cruise and picked 1030 to 11am. We are only 25 min from PortvCanaveral so works perfectly. Sherri🙂
  11. All packed and ready!😂 Sharon, we have a evening cruise booked for our second night in Budapest, I told my husband you had highly recommended that so he reserved one a few weeks ago. A cold front came through last night so it was 60 degrees when I walked this morning. Most of the people I passed had winter coats on.😂😂 And you’re right, Kat, this covid cough does suck. My husband is no longer coughing but I am continuing to do so. I will be very happy when I stop! Sherri🙂
  12. That should be so much fun for you, Melody! I am trying to put together a family cruise for next summer but the logistics of getting everyone together is making my head spin😂 Sherri🙂
  13. Hi Lois! You should have a really great trip, it is absolutely beautiful up in Canada! I will cross my fingers for you weather wise! I hope you have safe travels! We are leaving Thursday morning, fly from Orlando to Detroit, Detroit to Amsterdam, then to Budapest. I am mostly packed, just a few last minute things to go. This has been a strange cruise to pack for, no dressy clothes, no gym clothes, and no swimsuits! And, I am only taking 3 pairs of shoes!😂 Feeling all recovered except for this nagging cough I have at times. It is getting better but very slowly. OOTD: denim capris and a black gap t shirt with flip flops, getting my hair cut and colored this afternoon so I always wear something that I would not be upset if the color dripped on it.😂 Sherri🙂
  14. OP, thanks for sharing your experience. We brought covid home with us after our Sept. 21 cruise on Summit. My husband started having cold symptoms on disembarkation day, I started the next day. On day 10 of the cruise, the captain announced since we had reached the threshold of cases, masks were now mandatory and passengers were pretty compliant. This was our 14th cruise since Aug, 2021 but the first cruise that we did not consistently wear a mask. We were diligent about hand washing and I thought we did a fairly good job of keeping distance between us and others. We did wear our masks leaving the ship, in the airport and on the plane in hopes that we would not spread this to others. For everyone who says covid is just a cold, I would agree as our symptoms were that of a cold , but it seems to be the cold that just won’t go away. Two weeks later, we are both still coughing and still experiencing upper respiratory congestion at times. Tests are negative so we are no longer isolating but would love to get rid of this cough.😂 Sherri🙂
  15. I’ve always thought the food in Murano is hit or miss, to the point that we no longer give it a try.😂. Tuscan has always been very nice. Sherri🙂
  16. We did it in late 2029. It was in a side area of the Solarium Bistro and yes, it was the same menu. Sherri🙂
  17. Thanks, Sharon, I am hoping I do love the river cruise, it just seems so different from what we are used to. Kitchen Reno is about 3/4 of the way done. Mostly just a matter of installing trim, dishwasher, painting, etc. Should be all completed when we return from cruise! Sounds like a good time with granddaughter! We will be seeing youngest grandson for Thanksgiving and then going up to VA for Christmas. This is the longest I have ever gone without seeing the two in northern VA and I am really missing them. Sherri🙂
  18. Unfortunately, we are. It does seem to be a mess at times. But, thanks for the good thoughts! Sherri🙂
  19. Thanks, Lois! I do layer but my layers came off as soon as we got out of the terminal in Quebec!😂. It was 62 and overcast, I had to take off my lightweight pullover and pull my sleeves up on my tshirt. My hoodie never came out of the backpack. I think this time, I will start with just tshirt, maybe even one with short sleeves, then add to it from backpack if needed. Can I just wear the shirt and jeans I wore during the daytime during evening hours? Sherri🙂
  20. We may do a bike tour, I know we have several walking tours planned. We have done bike tours in other countries and they have always been fun. My husband is doing all of the planning for this cruise so I really have no idea what we are doing. I am just showing up each day! This is really unusual for me as I am typically the one in charge. It kind of nice for a change.😂 Sherri🙂
  21. Nice sweater, Lois! Always nice when you find exactly what you want! I am trying to decide what to pack for our river cruise, we leave next Thursday. I have been watching temps in Budapest, Amsterdam, etc. and it looks like what we experienced in Canada. I found when we were off the ship, I was too hot. So, I am planning on raincoat, Burton hoodie and a few light weight pullover sweaters, although I did not wear them at all on our cruise. I am increasing the number of short sleeve t shirts I take as I did not have enough on last cruise. My husband says river cruising is very casual, would you experienced cruisers agree with that? Sherri🙂
  22. My grandkids put their “wish “ lists on Amazon, so I just choose what I want to get and send it off. My shopping for them takes about 15 min. Easy easy😂. Glad treatment # 2 went well, Melissa! Sherri🙂
