Last day of cruise, a sea day but kind of cool and dreary. Captain made an announcement Friday afternoon in which he said we had exceeded the threshold number of positive covid cases; therefore, it is now mandatory for all to wear masks whenever in an indoor area. Surprisingly, the majority of passengers are complying. Lots of people coughing where ever you go on the ship. The couple in the cabin next to us have been quarantined in their cabin since day 3 due to positive tests. We can hear them outside on their balcony coughing, they both have nasty sounding coughs. I feel very bad for them as they flew to Boston from Scotland for this cruise. My husband woke up with a HA today but I think he just spent too much time in the martini bar last night!😂 Sherri🙂

We are currently on Summit, our Captain made the same announcement yesterday afternoon only we were told masks are mandatory anytime indoors unless seated and eating/drinking. Majority of passengers now wearing masks. Sherri🙂

That does not surprise me to hear the river flooded, it floods easily. I think our area of. Brevard, Satellite Beach, just had some fairly mild wind damage and some power outages. Nothing like the west coast experienced. I hope your family in South Carolina get through this without any major damage. Sherri🙂

This has been an amazingly smooth cruise, hard to believe Fiona followed us up here and Ian had caused so much devastation in FL, the pictures I have seen online are just sad. It will take years for Sanibel Island and Naples to recover. I hope Charleston does not get hit as hard as forecasters are predicting. Maybe Ian will change course again and go out to sea. Have not heard of any major damage in our area. Our condo has a generator that will provide limited electricity to each unit, so freezer should be ok. Hopefully, the new straps we put on the air conditioner a few months ago worked and the unit did not get blown off the roof!😂 Hope everyone is well and safe! Sherri🙂

So, we have had a beautiful sea day today, sunny and warm. Almost like being in the Caribbean!😂. I can tell the waves are picking up, definitely a little rougher. We battened down the hatches before we left, happy not to be in FL right now, although I don’t think it will hit our area very hard. Lois, stay safe as it looks like it could swing up through Jacksonville. Sherri🙂

Port Canaveral check in times-strict?
sjb317 replied to zanydoc's topic in Royal Caribbean International
To be honest, we have done 6 cruises out of Canaveral since cruising resumed and I have never seen any one paying attention to checkin times. I know you have more experience with this but no one ever checked the time. There were no lines, it looked like everyone was just walking on. And sometimes we were right on time, a few times were early. Being early was never intentional, we were trying to get as close to time assigned as possible. Sherri🙂 -
Continue to enjoy the cruise! We just left Portland and are heading up to Quebec (maybe!). Next two days are sea days so I think we will get there Tuesday. We are on Summit, is that M class? If so, I like it a lot! Cynthia, your cruise in the Mediterranean should be amazing! Sharon, the mini balloon festival sounds like fun, except for the getting up at dawn part! So, I tried to do my version of minimal packing and I have discovered that I did not bring enough clothes!😂 Should have brought a few more tops, another dress, and maybe another swimsuit. We have spent a lot of time in the solarium pool! Sherri🙂

Port Canaveral check in times-strict?
sjb317 replied to zanydoc's topic in Royal Caribbean International
It’s not always that the rules don’t apply, sometimes it is due to the plan not working out as expected🙄 Like in June when I was put on the wrong shuttle bus and got to port 45 min earlier than my time. Figured I would have to wait but just walked right on. Sherri🙂 -

The X site being down for the day did not seem to have any affect on the app. Sherri🙂 -

My phone was quicker than the people shuffling through their various papers.😂 Sherti🙂 -

Currently on Summit. Our checkin experience at the pier was very quick and easy, has definitely changed though, from our experience on Apex in February. No one looked at our vax cards, we were just asked if we had been vaccinated. Because we are going to Canada, we were still required to test, but the agent barely looked at our test results. No one checked for a checkin time. We did have to answer the 3 questions that the health check has been reduced to. Agent checked our passports and we were done. Sherri🙂 -
For us, the answer is no. We have done Aqua class twice, on Infinity and Apex. Everyone raves about Blu but we were not impressed with the food, but I will say service was amazing. Spa stuff is not something I enjoy so did not spend much time there. The shower with different settings in our bathroom was nice. Sherri🙂

We are having a great cruise but our itinerary has been changed quite a bit. To start with, everything was reversed so we went to Portland today instead of last port day, we are over nighting and leaving tomorrow at 130.Halifax andSt John have been completely dropped from itinerary but so far, seas have been calm. All is good. Sherri🙂
