  1. That's quite awesome and smart. I would have never thought to use that. A small piece of pegboard would be easy to pack, too.
  2. What is that interesting item called? that looks awesome for watching the shadow.
  3. I had purchased a few things, and it took ages to have them delivered. I bought in early January, and didn't receive the art until very late March. I used the contact phone number to get info on my art, and it was handled well. They do take a ridiculous amount of time for shipping, but don't disclose that on the ship at all. You should get an update email once it has been processed (reframed or whatever they do to it), and then another when it ships, along with tracking. They're just really S L O W sending it out.
  4. That's great! There were several people handling the envelope ours came in, so no telling who put it "away" or where. I just figured I should be prepared over a year in advance of the 2023 eclipse, and 19 months before 2024. LOL!
  5. Same. I ordered eye protection for the 2017 eclipse but of course I have no idea where they are now. LOL! I just ordered another set to have on hand, and before pricing/shipping time gets crazy like last time.
  6. My friend and TA grabbed a mini suite for us. I'm very excited about this cruise.
  7. Has anyone read if they have any planned remedy for rest of this year's sailings? I've got a sailing in November, with several ports I'd rather not miss.
  8. Interesting. Is it possible the points came from another source? I did not receive points so far this month.
  9. I'm very intrigued with the Ginger Mojito drink. I will have to try it in August on my next cruise. Is it on the menu? If not, how is it made? TIA
  10. I always enjoy your cruise reviews. I tried the French 77 on my Summit cruise in April, and quite enjoyed it. That drink is one of the things I've learned from your reviews. Hope you have a great cruise!
  11. I am not on the FB group. Wow! That's tough to hear about so many getting ill. Your case doesn't sound fun at all, but glad you're on the mend. Good thing your husband got a milder case, too. I should remember to check the CDC site for such info when next I cruise. I had no idea it had gone orange. Re: the OP of this thread - if you find a good fare, I'd grab it. Alaska can be wonderful. Cruising with reduced capacity is very nice. It is the reason I've been on several cruises since July last year, and have 3 more booked in the next 6 months. YMMV
  12. Interesting info. I was on the May 6th cruise, too. I wasn't aware that there was Covid onboard, or that a few tested positive afterwards. At any rate, I enjoyed the cruise, and it was nice to visit Alaska again. Hope your recovery wasn't too terrible.
  13. It worked really well. It is not fast, but seems to get clothes cleaner than washing out in the sink. Follow the directions exactly, don't over fill, don't use too much detergent, etc. I carried the filled bag out to by the desk, and used my feet to swish all the clothes around for about 15 mins. I found that easier than bending over using my hands. Rinsing out was fairly easy using the shower, filling the bag, swishing without being latched/closed. I did that twice b/c I hate soap residue. Overall I will bring it again on a long cruise for a few things as needed.
  14. On a recent cruise I tried out this Scrubba wash bag. It worked well for a small load of clothes: 3-4 underwear, two tshirts, 2 pair socks. The only mistake I made was not wringing out the clothes enough, or rolling in a towel after rinsing. I haven't tried a large item like jeans yet, but I think in pinch it would work well. Though I imagine jeans would take a while to dry. eta: I packed a travel bottle with liquid laundry soap. I thought liquid would dissolve quicker than powder.
