  1. Thursday and Friday for sure.  It's not going to be on any nights that Havana is running because it has some of the same people in it.

Be sure and get on board early and go immediately to The Social to make your show reservations.  They will help you coordinate with all of your other reservations.

  2. The room service fee is $7.95, except for continental breakfast if ordered before 10:00, which is free.  There is a charge if you order a cooked breakfast.

Here is a screenshot of a Bliss Balcony bathroom, if that helps.

  3. For us, the line to get off the Breakaway was the longest of any cruise we've ever encountered. It was crazy long, going in two directions and no way to know if the line you got in was going to be the shorter of the two lines. I"m not really sure how long it took us to make our way off the boat, though.

  4. I can totally appreciate this, I don't have anything red in my house other than a few red shirts in my closet. One of my daughters gave me a red candle for a gift and I kept moving it around further and further back in the house. After it ended up in hall by the garage door, I finally just handed it over to my other daughter.

    She LOVES red!

  5. Over a year ago we booked a 7 day cruise entirely using points. Then, a couple of weeks later, NCL cancelled that cruise. So, we booked another cruise. Again, NCL cancelled that cruise. Things just got crazy at this point and we sold our house, my husband got a new job and we moved out of state. We had zero time to sit down and plan yet a third cruise.

In our case, even though NCL cancelled the cruises, the points did not automatically go back on our card. We finally scheduled a cruise for next month and NCL transferred the points back to our card and then applied them to the new cruise.

They didn't have any problem crediting us back the well over 300,000 points. So, free spa balcony on the Getaway!

  6. Q2 - I believe we were in group 8 to board after arriving around 11:00 or so. We went right away to get in line to for the Vibe pass. There was a single line forming just to get those passes and they handed out numbers to everyone in line. Our numbers were 39/40 out of 80, so I think you have a good shot at getting passes if it's the first thing you do when you board.

  7. Cancelled!

My husband got an email today notifying us that our 2/21/2016 cruise was cancelled, we lost our free UBP and we have to sign up for a new cruise or lose all of our credit card points that we had put towards it.

It's probably for the best. The cruise we just took to Bermuda was just so so. I was kind of sea sick for most of it. We will probably reserve something at a later date.

  8. I talked to Norwegian the other day and they told me that my Feb 21st cruise hasn't been cancelled YET. She confirmed they are not taking any new reservations for that 4 week period at this time.

Next, she told me that the "Canadian cruises" are in greater jeopardy of cancellation. I have no idea what she meant by that, maybe someone else does.

I guess the real tragedy here is that if they do cancel this cruise they won't transfer our free UBP to a different cruise. We just lose it. I'm not really upset about that, I'd just like to be able to make plans.

  9. I called up NCL to see if my Feb cruise is still happening and it was very difficult to understand what they were saying. They said I still had a reservation, but I couldn't tell if they understood that I was saying those dates were no longer showing up on ncl.com

Of course, they said we'd be compensated if the cruise was cancelled.

    Very helpful.

  10. I personally feel like so much of this just falls on deaf ears.

We had a really bad experience with Hilton hotels once. Ruined our vacation. I wrote emails and I called and I barely got an apology. Hilton did not care how often we stayed at their hotels or how many future dollars we spent. My husband spent over $100,000 on hotels last year. He chooses his hotel as well as the hotel his staff of around 10 stays at. Let's say that's around a million dollars a year times 10 years. Marriott and the Radisson got all of that money, and Hilton is ok with that.

To me, this is the big picture of corporate America. If everyone that posts on the NCL board here switched to another cruise line I don't think it would a difference. Those cabins will be filled with other people, it's just the kind of turnover businesses expect.

But I'm not cynical at all.

  11. This is not a deal breaker for me.

For the most part the menu didn't have much that I would want to eat. However, it was very nice having breakfast delivered on excursion days. Originally I was reading that continental breakfast was included, but maybe it isn't.

Does anyone know if there is a gratuity automatically added to the room service fee? I know you don't have to tip, but I feel obligated to. That makes it even more expensive.

I would be willing to pay a few bucks for room service, $5 or less but with a tip the new few could end up being around $10 and that's more than I'm willing to spend.

Now, a word about the term Freestyle. There seems to be some confusion as to how NCL defines this. It means you have many choices of where you eat and that you can eat whenever you want as opposed to having set seating times for dinner.
