  1. John, Ditto with your experience. Our voyage two times ago and all factors were taken to produce a acceptable photo was accepted with an acknowledgement. Last sailing we submitted the same photo as we are going to use on the coming trip, but with all the chaos at the terminal, I believe our agent also just seemed to taken everyone's photo. I think they didn't care to see if a photo was submitted. But we did everything to follow the instructions to produce a acceptable photo online. Thank you...
  2. Living in and around New York Harbor, hate to say this, We have never been attracted to their ships and even watching Cruise Ship Shows on Cable introducing different ship, not interested.
  3. We have been to Barbados many times and looking forward to returning in 2025. We love shopping in the Ship Terminal that is a bit of a walk from the ship but some ship have a shuttle bus to the Terminal. We enjoyed taking a Cruise Ship Tour around the Island to get the feel and flavor of the Island. The Islanders are so wonderful and pleasant to meet and to talk too. We have also enjoyed having Tea at the Sunbury Plantation part of a tour. Also we have been and will be returning to Harrison's Cave, a wonderful place.
  4. Dear KathyinSoCal, I so sorry to read your experience post C-19 on a NCL ship. We sail Cunard ship, our favorite QM2, two since our return to cruising and found the ship to be as active as in the past with the same activities offered and even more. On a Daily Programme that is well spelled out with times and locations given to us the evening before to review. As a Cunarder for over 30+ years, we know and are aware that Days at Sea offer a more fuller list of activities from early morning to late past midnight. Port Days do offer some on board activities for those staying on board. On our recent two sailing of 7 and 14 days, we did have all those activities you mentioned above. "daily bingos, multiple trivia challenges, arts and crafts etc".. dance classes, deck walks, bridge classes, water colors etc and more..... Yes, they also offered surcharge activities if you wanted to participate. So, I really don't know why the Line offered a lack of activities as described. Good Luck on any other bookings you may make.
  5. Thought it was taken by the Container Port Behind the Terminal.I saw the Containers there. Can't believe how many people are getting confused with the Piers from the Brooklyn Bridge down towards Atlantic Avenue along Columbia Street. I know that building is the NY Dock Building Condo's that was built in 1910 and use to be a Warehouse we use to watch being converted going to Fairway Market and Steven's Key Lime Pie factory.
  6. Looks like the old Port Authority Piers below around Brooklyn Heights.
  7. Even though we will not be sailing till March 2025 on board the QM2, we are so pleased with all the comments, reports and photos of the work and labor that was performed on her. She is our favorite Ocean Liner as was also in the past the QE2. Though close to 400+ days till we will be boarding her, we will attempt to see her when she visits Brooklyn, our personal homeport. During our two sailings in the last year, we did see that she did need work to be done but as stated in the past, she is always on the move and exposed to many different elements affecting her look. With the many that board and use her facilities, there is a level of wear and tear. But we can't wait to Once Again board and sail with her.
  8. Dear cruisin4ththedeepblue, Do you have a email on file with Cunard for any communications and updates to your sailing? We are going on a March 15th 2025 sailing to the Caribbean on the QM2 from Brooklyn and have already received a "IMPORTANT UPDATE APPLIED TO YOUR VOYAGE" this far out. It was to make us aware of notifying Cunard of any Mobility Problems from the Terminal to boarding the ship and needs needed on board during the sailing. It was quite long and detailed for those needs we should need if applied to us.It also stated that any needs not brought to their attention prior to the sailing could affect any needs while on board during the cruise. I agree to calling Cunard Contact Center. 1-800-728-6273 is the number stated in email. I hope you were not excluded from this type of email to your sailing.
  9. We believe every one of our sailings from the QE2, Caronia and QM2 is a Memory. So, So many to note. Norway sailing, Voyage thru the Panama Canal and some of the Maiden Voyages into Ports of Call for the First Time. The several Captains, Commodores that honored our invitation to our Meet & Greets on Board. Attending a Wedding on Board of another Passenger by the Staff Captain in the Board Room.. Yes, many too many to mention.
  10. We too also have to understand the Old Lady is Old and we are Happy She Is Still Around.
  11. Really were never bothered by other passenger conversations in the past. Don't know if Starlink encourages more conversations in the open with a better connection. When my DW conducted business on board, I would remind her of others around and step away for her privacy also. Won't know till our sailing in 2025
  12. We are on Cunard and they do not expire. Based on your history of sailing with their voyages with the number of days accumulated on board. We even think that the top category being Diamond, which is our level, we are wondering if another level should be designated. It seems though the loyalty of it's passengers, it's getting awful crowded at that level. By attending the CWC Cocktail Parties on board attendance.
  13. The solemn occasion starts on ours at breakfast when we pick the time after lunch to start some packing the morning before. Attend tea. Continue to get at least one bag before dinner out. After the show we continue with some more bags. Out in hallway. One more outing to walk around and the feel of the ship lessering. Back to the room for the last bags before 1AM.. Again, the solemn hallway silence and vacant feeling. Getting up to see the entrance into the harbor and rustling in the hallway. Elevators busy to the restaurants. The same feeling for the "Last Breakfast" as was at the First Dinner Time except in reverse. Goodbyes turned from those Hello's..... Anticipating the Announcement after docking who goes first. Our Turn...... Elevators crowded, halt at Gangway, Proceed. Who's going to get into the Luggage Terminal part first.. The last time a Porter followed us kindly and helped which helped us. Past Customs down the long hallway of the Brooklyn Terminal and into the bright Sunshine and Chaos of the Sidewalk Ballet.. Every Car Service was ours, nope, next, nope, next, nope, next YES!!!!!. Pack up and head out of the terminal proper... Not Looking back...... "back to my non-QM2 life"......... Who's cooking tonight, what's for dinner, do we call take out ???? "back to my non-QM2 life"
  14. Bravo.........Same Feelings on each and every sailing. But we go with the flow and watch those others...
  15. With our personal cruise line website, we monitor any tours that are sold out to see if additional ones are added. We also wait till we are on board to see the tour sheet they forward to us to use to see if again any more tours are added on. The ship may see the demand for addition tours to be added and contact the island to arrange. We personally do not do personal tours as we feel protected touring with the ship. You are personally protected by the staff and are assured not to miss the ship. The ship waits for all tours by bus by the tour office till departure. Personal arranged tours will be responsible to be back to the ship on time. Expensives yes! But there are pluses working with the ship.
