  1. Ditto! We agree totally with D&N statement.... After sailing so many decades, we are thankful for all the hard work for all those from boarding at the gangway to "Goodbyes" leaving, we appreciate their care and concern for us. We truly appreciate even those not caring but in passing in the hallways the family we have while on board greeting us. We agree appreciation is appreciated by the staff with their dedicated service is recognized. We do at times also recognize that exceptional service with a gratuity at the completion of the sailing. IMHO...it's up to the individual passengers sailings to judge their recognition of service received and what action they believe should be done.
  2. Kings Court or Carinthia Lounge we found once as a dessert
  3. Welcome to Cunard ! You will enjoy the experience of being a Cunarder and on board the QM2. We too enjoyed the Princess Grill and hope to be in it again in 2025. We have been sailing Cunard since the last 80's and continue to look forward to each voyage. Do not be worried about adapting to your sailing, make it as comfortable as you wish. We enjoy each crew member we meet each time and appreciate their care and concern of our needs.
  4. Thank you from one health care provider to another. I like to use the 30 second method in public washing hands the way we were taught. Rotating and fingers into fingers washing. And carrying paper towels to open and handle door handles.. Useless washing if you will grab for the handle afterwards.
  5. Given traffic conditions during the day about 15 minutes. They will take Veterans Drive - Waterfront HWY....
  6. I too on two past voyages had to use bottled water for nasal rinses for medical reasons. IMHO......I had no problems what so ever. I carefully handled the bottles. I kept them in the refrig. When ready to use, took it out and mixed it. Warmed it by running the base of the Neil Med bottle carefully under the warm water in the sink. Or warm water in a glass. Good Sailing.
  7. Idubs Didn't bother us just noticeable. Anyone wants to raise voice for fun, no problem. Suppose to have fun. But strong points can lead to escalation and disturbance. On several sailings ago, WOW disturbance half the Princess Grill away table of 4 sounded like a table of 10. Best to enjoy with a deaf ear and enjoy your company.
  8. We had an experience with the weather and conditions of the ocean on a Caribbean Cruise on the QE2. It latest for about 5-6 hours and interesting to experience how all dealt with it on board.
  9. Agree With You.... When we go cruising or a land based vacation, we enjoy each other's company. But with conversation, we try to keep news from off the ship stand off the ship unless it pertains to the vacation. We like to talk about the entertainment, the shore excursions we anticipate or have gone on and of course the cuisines we try. Yes, there are times when off the ship news comes on, we will monitor it and keep up the latest. But talk a little about it. Self control is so important to keep the atmosphere at the table or other locations. Our may goal is to remember why we all wanted to go together and enjoy talking about it afterwards. We have unfortunately expected those that can interfere on a nearby table and does not even realize how there conversation bother others.
  10. Hi FritzG, Forgot to share another change to the BC Cabins on Deck 13. The balcony doors does not open out (swing), these particular cabins have a sliding door instead. Attached is a photo that will show you the door. You will see it slides on track. Other BC's on 12 still have the original installed swing doors out. We liked the change and wish they changed the other doors on the ship. Hope will help with you DH walking.
  11. Hi John, Thank you for 5 star rating of my assistance. Sounds like FritzG has experience btw Princess and Cunard to where they feel comfortable to stay. Williamsburg/Greenpoint is up and coming and not like the old days. So hope you are sailing soon. We have to wait till 2025 in March for the next time boarding the Queen. Will miss in 2024. 416 days to go......
  12. My wife also liked the Shower Door too. We had the PG two times ago and we know what you mean about the tub.
  13. FritzG, You are entirely welcome. Pls, Pls, Pls enjoy yourselves. If you don't mind, when is your sailing taking place? Interestingly you prefer to stay in Greenpoint and not closer to the terminal. If you need any other info, feel free to ask me or others on board. May the wind be at your back......................
  14. Hello FritzG, We sailed on the QM2 in 2017 and occupied Cabin 13002, 4 cabins away from you intended cabin. We found it very nice as it was just added in the 2016 Refit the previous year. Of course it looks newer than any of the other Brit Club cabins on Deck 12. Added was newer looking bathroom cabinets, Shower has actually a Shower Door with the others have curtains. Not sure the view. We of course were almost right in front the Left Side Bridge Wing. We saw all the operations on the Bridge which was interesting. The new observation walkway is above the cabins but never bothered us in the cabin. Of course the Dining Room for the Brit Club is at the far end of the ship by Elevator/Stairway D and 11 deck downs on Deck 2, can be a hike. Of course will help walking off meals. You do get as you should be aware an assigned the same table for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Dinner is from 630 to 9PM. This was one of the attraction for us. We have sailed about 6 times there except for one which we were upgraded to Princess. In the Dining Room you will also be presented an additional A La Carte menu besides the usual menu. We found it to be an interest to switch off from the other menu. Actually pretty much. And of course you be treated to quite a number of Flambe's desserts. We did once have a Flambe entree courtesy of the Dining Room Captain. So it's up to choice if you book.
  15. When the terminal is located in an industrial area, Sunday can a quite day.
  16. We enjoy the Greenhouse in St Tom and Martin with the same menus. Learn of it from the crew members we know on board. Great Local food like Conch.....
  17. Mr Tablecloth is always on my wifes shopping list and to do list at St Thomas.
  18. Hi Kathy, The sailing we were on with you last September we got several freebies from Cunard and had no dates on our slips we received in the room on arrival. The Lunch we made reservations for on the My Cunard on board could be used anytime on board the sailing. When we arrived at the restaurant the Maitre D' we knew from the previous let us keep the card and we used it for another freebies lunch on Cunard. We also got a card on board for the freebies Champagne High Tea which was held several times during the trip. We only used it once. But don't think you will have a problem. Ed
  19. We always tip at the end of the sailing for those tasks that were above and exceptional in nature. And we do also leave a short note thanking them for their service in the same envelope with the tip. Normally we give it at the last dinner night seating. When we dine the following morning before leaving the ship, they express their appreciation for the gratitude and note.
