  1. MONTHS TO GO TODAY! Even though we are expecting 1-3 inches tonight
  2. Totally Unacceptable! Inappropriate in Public View and Location.
  3. Kathy, I know what you mean as we also watch the photos being done around the ship but especially at the Grand Lobby on the QM2. The last trip after we were with you, we had a friend (solo) with us as a first timer on the Mary 2. We were passing the GL after dinner and photos were being taken on the staircase. Of course the women coached me to taking a photo. The photographer (a wonderful lady) posed us several times and what a wonderful job she did making us comfortable. And we were pleasantly happy to select one of the photos to purchase. And having it in the bedroom, so happy to view each time I see it. The point I am making is, she also made our guest also very welcomed and worked with her and she too purchased a photo to remember the trip and experience. I know that there are other photographers that I am now and in the past not impressed with their talent of posing and also making the subject comfortable. BTW.... I love Prosecco....
  4. To Each Their Own Opinion...... IMHO.......After sailing on many, many voyages over the decades, I appreciate the work and efforts to make us comfortable during our trips doing those tasks that are not noted as usual actions of their job. It's up to each passenger to determine what is usual and exceptional during their trip. So I really am not initially attracted to pre paying tips to the information and am focus to the contents of the trip and trip's ports of call.
  5. Sure! A extra charge to their batteries...
  6. WOW, those were two items introduced to me in my childhood. Now in NYC you can't afford those dishes so expensive. Back then they were cheap to buy. We always like to try new dishes that we wouldn't think of cooking at home.
  7. But you may wish to recognize those exceptions of good service....
  8. We all were First Timers once in the past, my experience was 53 years ago. And my DW was 42 years ago. We enjoy each and every Sailing meeting "Newbies" on board or on a Roll Call to exchange ideas, suggestions and comments. We are so blessed to have built relationships online and zoom to this day even with Crew Members. Each sailing also sometimes turns into an adventures.
  9. We enjoy participating in the Dress Code and Theme which is also the Main Attraction to booking on Cunard. Escaping the Everyday tasks at home, we look forward to the atmosphere we enjoy participating with all those others on board to during the After 6. We very much enjoy the Gala theme evening even those when not named.. Gives you the opportunity to name the evening yourself and dress as you wish. During our sailing in 2025 we only up to now have two but hoping for more being added. As mentioned in the past, it gives us that James Bondish feeling strolling thru the hallways or sitting in the Casino.
  10. On sailings we have had Gratuities added as part if the booking. But we are grateful to those that have gone above and beyond some services and show appreciation to them. Of course this is done at the end of the sailing, normally the evening before departure.
  11. Our personal experience at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal was only different last July. Being Diamond does have it advantage and perks to boarding earlier like last September in 22 We just arrival a little earlier at the terminal and go with the flow. The normal advance time boarding is about 20 minutes. Maybe we are lucky.
  12. Only time I saw passengers not really happy is when they did maintenance to the boats when docked or anchored. Very noisy when they drop and raise them. But passengers book them.
  13. We have never had a Deck 8 Lifeboat Cabin during our stays on board in the past. We prefer other decks we have selected in the past and always seem to prefer repeating. We did once heading to the Library look inside a Deck 8 Cabin and seem that looking towards the Balcony there is a lesser space than a basic Britannia Cabin. Once we had a PG and very much appreciated the space and upgrade deck furniture.
  14. The company's portfolio of global cruise line brands includes Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, Seabourn, P&O Cruises (Australia), Costa Cruises, AIDA Cruises, P&O Cruises (UK) and Cunard.
  15. Yes, the Bow of the ship by A Staircase/Elevator
  16. Our Guy John was great in the PG last July in the Port Side PG Rest.
  17. So happy you experienced Brooklyn Courtesy. Steamerdors and Teamester are Great Guys....I got them as friends. The tips help too!
  18. Except for last 4th of July sailing on the QM2 out of Brooklyn, we really had a problem at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal. That was an exception due to an medical incident that occurred on board with a Crew Member which we hope he is Resting In Peace. But on the September previous sailing everything was Smooth Sailing boarding the QM2. From arrival on the sidewalk to the Cabin was 20 minute entering our door. And those previous sailings were also any average of 17 - 20 minutes. Yes, let me not leave out we are either Diamond, Britannia Club or Princess that will help it along. Granted some events may take place like USCG or Public Health wanting to conduct inspections that may delay boarding. So all have to see how it plays out at that time.
  19. Crestaway Hello! Well congrat's on your first sailing on a cruise. Being a Veteran of over 53 years on sailing, you will DEFINITELY catch the Bug of Cruising after your first voyage. Each cruise after that you will want to select a sailing a bit longer. I also suggest voyages with many sea days. Sea days give the opportunity to enjoy full days of activities on board from Morning to Late into the Early Morning. You will see never ending Daily Programmes of things to do. Yes, the best part are the Ports of Calls that are the main attraction of sailing besides the ship. We enjoy getting up in the early morning and enjoying with other passenger the approach to the Island/Cities from a distance. And anticipating the approach to the Port. If you r lucky, some day you may tender to the pier which is another experience sailing. Do not worry about being noticed on board with your ethnic. We sail on a ship with passengers from approximately 22 nations and most are Brits. If you are guessing the name of the ship, it begins with Q and ends in 2. Don't worry about being of one nationality on board. We have had the opportunity to meet and stay in touch with many on board from around the world. That is another great reason for sailing. Meeting wonderful people from all points of the world. BTW, make sure you try to lose some waist line measures for all those great cuisine you will be challenged to try on the sailing. Another part to enjoy on the cruise. Many things they have that you may not make at home. Well, that's enough from me. But Welcome to the World of Sailing. There's A Wonderful World Out There to Investigate. Future......... BON VOYAGES.............
