On Symphony back in December the app was routinely wrong every day in regards to menus and the cruise compass. We learned very quickly that it couldn't be trusted.
I have been looking at the Symphony menus in the app in preparation for our cruise in a few months, and already suspected they might not be accurate. Glad to have confirmation. Do you recall examples of how the menus were wrong?
Thanks!

I hate be negative- the only time I used EZAir was to London for a BI cruise... what a cluster that turned out to be. And I did not save much money, either. As a qualifier- this was in 2015- and maybe they have got it better figured out these days.
However, I will continue to check- and if the price is right- I will probably go for it.
Hi TracieABD,
Would appreciate to know what problems you had, if you don't mind sharing.
Thanks!

Im sorry, are you sure on that math? My old math says $14.50 x 12 days = $174 per person x 2 pax = $348. Sooooo wouldn't it be better to take the gratuities on a 12 night cruise?
Sorry -- looking at too many cruises on too many cruise lines. The Celebrity cruise is 9 days so I believe that is $261. Of course, my math is faulty for a 12 day cruise!.
Thanks!

Hi,
Looking to book under the 1 Free Perk promotion for summer 2020. I see 2 of the 4 options as 150OBC pp or free pre-paid gratuities. Even for a 12 night cruise, the pre-paid gratuities for 2 of us would be less than $300.
If I take the OBC, will my gratuities be charged to my on board account and paid for out of the OBC? That is how it works on other lines we have sailed. If that is the case, the OBC is the better choice, right?
Am I missing something?
Thanks!

We're on the Grandeur out of Baltimore on Feb 14th and I just received an email saying, " While we are transforming our private destination, CocoCay, into Perfect Dat at CocoCay, we have experienced a minor delay. As a result, we've had to replace your visit to CocoCay with the beautiful port, Grand Bahama Island. We are sorry for any disappointment."
They were saying the pier would be done in January. Doesn't look to be the case.
Looks like this is a case of two ships scheduled to be in Coco Cay in the same day and them cancelling one because of the construction. I guess that is being extended now into February -- which sounds like more delays.
This was actual my fear with my previous comment -- if construction keeps getting delayed and the island can't handle two ships, I doubt it could handle the Symphony!
-
We are scheduled to go to CoCo Cay on the Symphony in May. Although some of the enhancements would be nice, we will be happy with a chair and umbrella on the beach if the Perfect Day enhancements are delayed. May should be enough time for them to complete the dock to allow the Symphony to go there, even with delays.
BUT, what are the chances they will cancel Oasis class visits even if the dock is completed if they feel the spaces open and not under construction would not be able to handle an Oasis size crowd?
Thanks!

Hi All,
Have not sailed Princess in a long time. Thinking of booking a British Isles cruise.
I have seen some good thinks on CC about EZair Flex for the flights to/from Europe.
If I book with a travel agent, will I be able to book my EZair flights online? Will I be able to monitor for price drops on the flights and rebook? Or will I need to go through my TA for all of that?
Thanks!

Very helpful information! We do also prefer bed by the balcony.
I assume this pattern works fleet wide?
Thanks!

Turn this around and it will be easier to think about. Book the cabin you want. If that cabin is eligible, they will give you the price Of the next lowest category. Don’t think of it as an upgrade. Think of it as a down price.
55 minutes ago, Wine-O said:Yeah, most of the time it's about $20 per person, but $20 is $20.
I agree.. that is how I am thinking about it.. as the lower price for the cabin I want.
I like the 1A either the 2As...depending on how much I want to spend.
The difference in price between 1B and 1A is $50pp on the sailing I am looking at, so $100 savings for the cabin.
The difference between 2B and 2A is $100pp, so $200 savings for the cabin. So a lot more than $20 in this case -- assuming I am looking at this correctly!
I also possibly like the 1C choices. Is there any category "below" 1C that I could use as a lower price to get a 1C?
Thanks!

Thanks TeaBag.
So then 1C upgrades to 1B?
Do 2A or 1A upgrade to anything or are they considered the top of their category?
Thanks again!

What are the negatives of booking a room with a Sofa Bed on Silhouette if we are only two people? I see rooms without sofa beds in the same location/category seem to go first before the ones with the sofa beds. I am assuming with the sofa bed closed it is just a sofa. Are there other differences to the room? Since it holds more than 2 people is there a chance they could reassign us down to a room that only holds 2?
Thanks!

Unfortunately, I had already read the terms of CEOofVacation and I am unable to glean the answer for question from that.
Can anyone help? Not sure which categories (specifically within the Veranda supercategory) that Celebrity considers one level upgrades. What I think is better, may not be what Celebrity considers better.
Thanks!

I am a Royal Caribbean cruiser who reciprocal Select status in the Captain's Club.
I am thinking of booking my first Celebrity cruise and trying to figure out the One-Category upgrade. Would appreciate a the proper order of the Veranda category upgrades.
For example, a 1B would upgrade to a 1A, right? Would a 2B upgrade to a 2A or a 1C? Is there a full list of the hierarchy of the Veranda staterooms?
Thanks!

Glad to hear the facial-recognition immigration check is going well.
For those who just got off this morning, would you happen to have copies of the MDR menus you could post?
Thanks!

Thanks for your live review. We are almost 6 months away! Did you receive a shows at a glance flyer summarizing the week ahead? If so, would you be able to post it please?
Thanks!

As usual, I hoping this is RCCL sloppy website... this seems to state for POM, the flight has to be out of MIA and for PE the flight has to be out of FLL. I thought previously there were cases that they would transport bags to the "other" airport and hope that has not changed.

She is too big for the downtown turning basin and will alwyas turn in the basin at Fisher Island where big container ships turn. Same for Symphony.
Are they going to take her down to the turn basis this evening, turn her around, and dock again starboard side?If so, does anyone know why they did not do that before docking?

Whan making reservations, you are given the option to add guests from another reservation.
We booked direct with RCCL. The other couple booked via a travel agent. When I go to add them to an excursion via the "add guests from another reservation" it gives me the message "Unfortunately, these reservations may not be combined to create a single reservation. Please proceed to make separate reservations for each party." I presume that means their TA put them in a group and that I will get the same message when trying to book MTD reservations when those become available, right?
Will linking our reservations help in this case to allow me to book MTD reservations on-line? Will RCCL be able to book us together if I call? Do I have any option pre-cruise to book a table for four?
Thanks!

Is the Aqua Theatre show on the Symphony closer to the Harmony or to the Oasis and the Allure?

Looks like the redirect is for a general web server/url, connected to real estate agents and vacation booking sites. But I didn't see any listing for Beachers.
Exactly -- with any luck they are still in business, and just decided not to pay for the domain name anymore and the other site bought it.
-
Oh dear, this is potentially bad news...they were the best day package in Roatan.
What address did you use? I have Emil's card for his Real Estate business.
I'll try and reach him there for info, and will report back.
I am using roatanboy@yahoo.com for Emil. Is there a better address?

Does anyone know if Beachers is closed/under new management?
My last email has not been answered and now I see their website is redirecting.
Thanks,
Brad

Were the menus correct just on the wrong night or were they wrong beyond the night?
