  1. While I haven't contributed much recently, I am thrilled that this is still alive. Roy
  2. They purposely scheduled the demo for low tide, so there may be hope for not much more needed to free her at high tide, Roy
  3. I have a very busy afternoon and need to leave. Thanks Dave, Leanne, and fellow addicts. Roy
  4. Seems to be extra slow. Perhaps caught line handlers off guard? Roy
  5. I'm not convinced the Captain made a mistake. There is no way a cruise ship can go through the Canadian inside passage without a pilot, and I think if someone dropped the ball it was corporate marine operations. While a Captain is responsible for everything on the ship, sometimes that includes things outside his control. Roy
  6. Today's sunrise is from a 2010 Blount inland cruise from Nashville to Chicago. Floods caused great havoc that year and I don't remember exactly where we were on May 13 but it was on the Cumberland, Tennessee, or Ohio river somewhere between Nashville and St. Louis. Roy

  8. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Ann, Debbie, and Dixie. .Welcome back Rich. Three interesting days to celebrate. Since we only pass through this world once, we should make the most of it. I have not been to the port of Gaspe, although I have been to the beautiful Gaspe Peninsula, I have been to Perce, 62km away. I was surprised to see that the highway connecting them begins at Perce and continues within a stone’s throw of where my father was born, ending in Fort Covington, New York. A sad day for the people under the command of Arthur Phillip.. I’ll pass on the meal. My alternative is Apple and Pear Gazpacho with Passion Fruit Sorbet, Oven Roasted Beef Ternderloin with Button Mushrooms, and Key Lime and White Chocolate Tart, the Mariner Brunch served on MS Veendam May 18, 2017. The second Monday is usually a very busy day for me with both a church finance meeting and fire department board meeting. Roy
  9. I have a sunset today rather than a sunrise. It's from May 12, 2019 after transferring from Queen Victoria to Queen Mary 2 in Southampton: Roy

  11. Happy Mother's Day. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie. I love all 3 of today's days although I do not really deal with plants. A very nice quote by Eleanor Roosevelt. I have not been to Himeji. A really old day to celebrate today. I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is Fruit Salad with Yogurt and Honey, Garden Wedge Salad with Grilled Chicken, and Strawberry Ice Cream, my embarkation lunch on MS Veendam May 14, 2016. A chilly wind and occasional rain today. It was dry from the house to car to mall for walking, and then to church, drizzle from church to car but dry again to get back in the house. Roy
  12. Just one Phuket photo from me. The Island sits almost directly across from Koh Sumai, accessed by a long causeway. While @Quartzsite Cruiser was there in 2000, for me it was 2010. In between there was an extremely devastating tsunami on December 26, 2004 and our tender dock was pretty much ground zero for the tsunami. While I did not like most of my photos I found this one quite poignant: Roy
  13. I did see the departure but then went right back to dinner. Thanks Dave, Leanne, and fellow addicts. Roy
  14. For those who follow "The Fleet Report and Daily" @MISTER 67 is on Enchanted Princess. Not sure how much I can watch as I have groceries to put away and dinner to start at 5. Roy
  15. I have a sunset today rather than a sunrise from a short 2019 cruise on Queen Victoria. May 11 was a sea day from Skagen, Denmark to a rendezvous with Queen Mary 2 in Southampton. Roy

  17. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Ann, Debbie, and Dixie. .I think the last day got cut off in the database and is “International Awareness Day for Chronic Immunological and Neurological Diseases” This appears to include some pretty common diseases like Type 1 Diabetes, Rheumatoid arthritis, and Lupus as well as some more exotic diseases. While I have been in rehab several times I have never rolled foam. While I appreciate the results of a root canal I do not appreciate the process. I can only quibble a little bit with the quote. It is not that dark at certain times in the far North or far South. It looks like I visited Phuket just once, 2010 on Queen Victoria.. A great day in Theatrical history.. The meal is interesting. My alternative is Classic Caesar Salad, Grilled Molasses Lamb Chops, and Strawberry Sundae which would have been my choices on MS Nieuw Statendam April 28, if I had not dined in Canaletto.. Looks like yesterday’s rain has left us and it will be a little warmer but still chilly... Roy
  18. Life at Sea Cruises appears to be dead. This is Victoria Cruises. Roy
  19. With the zoom on the noisemaker I think I'll start on dinner. Thanks Dave, Leanne, and fellow addicts. Roy
  20. I'm not cruising. I was just reviewing and noticed that 1-day did not look right, and the B2B shows it should be 11 days. Roy
